We went on a day when it was pretty busy and they were short staffed. It took a while for the food to arrive. We were also disappointed to find that the curries were swimming in oil. Later the owner asked us how we found the food. When we pointed this out to him he was very defensive and said they would not change it! It was kind of a disappointing experience overall and I would not recommend based on my experience.

We were craving Indian food and found this amazing spot through some reviews and so happy we stopped here! Raj was our server/owner and he made our night. Had the PERFECT recommendations based on what we enjoyed heat wise. The food was also absolutely amazing. The Rogan Josh was TO DIE FOR. The chefs dish was suggested and I wish I got it. We will definitely return either on this trip or the next time we come to Banff!

We went to this place for our first meal of the day which was around 5 PM. The place was empty at that time. We tried the chicken Rajasthani, masala fish curry, paneer naan, and tandoori roti. Loved the taste of food. The Fish curry was medium spicy with good layers of flavors. Paneer naan was super soft and I was simply overjoyed by eating it. Must try place in the neighborhood, little expensive though compared to other options but quality of food was worth it. Service was good as well.

Ordered from here last night and it was so delicious! We are east indian and we were all impressed with the quality of the food! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic indian food!

Ambiance was terrible. Service was pathetic and downright rude. Quantity of food was not enough for the money charged. There was scraps of food all over the floor and usually there are rodents in that kind of environment. The owner, manager who goes by 'Raj' was downright rude and obnoxious. The food took forever to come. Wish we had just left and gone to some other place. The place was empty but he refused to have customers seated and kept saying, 'wait wait, you will be seated'. Do not go here. It is expensive and customer service is terrible. Food is expensive.

Breakfast/Lunch Stop Worth the Detour…read more I'm a pretty picky eater. Not because I want to be, but because I have to be. I try to eat vegetarian in the morning, and I'm allergic to wheat, which makes dining out a little more complicated than it should be. My boyfriend found this little café outside Banff, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the better food surprises of the trip. We both ordered the Pad Thai -- one loaded with extra protein, one without. I had low expectations. I've eaten enough Thai food to know that about 7 or 8 out of 10 places overcook the noodles. They become soft, mushy, and fall apart the moment you touch them. Not here. The noodles were cooked perfectly -- still chewy with a nice bite. The peanut sauce was another pleasant surprise. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy like many North American versions. The balance was just right. The spice level was mild, which I appreciated because the dish actually tasted like Pad Thai instead of being buried under a mountain of chili. The vegetables were generous, fresh, and plentiful. My boyfriend's chicken portion wasn't huge, but there was plenty of tofu, which made sense since the dish is originally designed as a vegetarian option. The chef seemed to add the chicken as an extra rather than making it the star of the plate. The portion looked manageable when it arrived. It was not. I couldn't finish mine, and my boyfriend had to rescue the remaining noodles. Pad Thai: 4/5 The Vegan Berry Scone was light, not greasy, and not overly sweet. The strawberries and blueberries added little bursts of tartness, and there was a nice oat flavor throughout. My only complaint? It might have been too healthy. A tiny bit more sweetness could have taken it from "good" to "wow." Vegan Berry Scone: 3/5 The Vegan Chocolate Cake was exactly what a chocolate lover would want. Rich dark chocolate flavor without being sugary or overwhelming. It was a little dense and heavy, but in a comforting way that made me keep reaching for another bite. If the cake itself were slightly more moist, it would be nearly perfect. That said, making something both vegan and gluten-free that tastes this good deserves credit. Vegan Chocolate Cake: 4/5 What really impressed me was the overall value. Since the café is outside the main Banff tourist zone, prices are much more reasonable, parking is easy, and they offer a surprisingly large selection of gluten-free and vegan options. For someone like me, who usually spends half the meal interrogating the menu, that alone is worth celebrating. Final Rating: 4/5 Good food, fair prices, easy parking, and plenty of options for people with dietary restrictions. I'd absolutely come back. In fact, if I'm passing through again, I probably won't bother looking for another place.

Casual spot where we could sit anywhere. The tables are all raised, so a little awkward, but manageable. Our server was prompt with bringing us menus and water. Upon arrival, we were provided with a liquor menu but not a full food menu, and were directed to order from the happy hour menu. This created a bit of confusion at first, but we made the best of it. We ordered the Beer Board, which included a selection of sausages, Italian meats, cheeses, and pretzel bread. It was well put together, with good variety and satisfying portions--great for a late-night bite. Overall, while the experience wasn't exceptional, it was a decent stop considering the circumstances. It served its purpose and provided a solid option when not much else was available. That said, the bar itself is pretty decent. Carries some ambiance --perhaps a place you'd hang out for a few drinks.
