I recently had a window repaired by Wilke Window and Door of Shiloh, IL…read more I have no complaint on the quality of the service, however their pricing on labor is extremely outrageously high and very overpriced. Wilke charges $145, to give an estimate. Which consisted of a technician measuring the broken window and taking pictures. The total time spent at this service call was 15 minutes. This has to be pre-paid or they will not come out. They then give you an estimate for materials and service, and 1/2 of that needs to be paid in advance before they will order the materials and schedule a repair. The window replacement took a total of 1 hour, which consisted of removing the lower broken double hung window, and replacing it with a new one. Labor on this 1 hour was $243 So total labor for 1 broken window, total time spent, including two service calls was 1 Hour and 15 minutes. Total labor was $398 I tried to talk to the service manager about this, and he said basically that, it is what it is. I hope to never have to use them again.

If you can keep an open mind, this is the home of good bargains. I called them up again recently to install some trim coil on a porch overhang and they did a very good job. While they were here, I requested a quote for some additional work. Received the quote at the end of September and one of the owners said he would get to me in a couple of weeks. Arrangements were made for them to come out to do the work during the middle part of October. I sent a text the night before they were supposed to arrive and requested to postpone the work due to the fact that it had been raining all week and was going to be all muddy and messy outside (as a courtesy to them). I mentioned of getting back together once it was all dry again. Well, today, an entire month later, I get a call from one of the co-owners (John) offering to do the work we spoke about nearly two months ago. His excuse for just now getting back in touch with me - they have been busy and I turned them away -- which I didn't - simply requested a delay to the rain that was going on that week. He proceeded to tell me that he didn't need my headache and that I could find someone else to do the work. His tone to me as a paying customer was egregious and completely out of line! Not to mention he sounded like he had smoked two packs of cigarettes a day for the past 40 years. We parted ways and I told him what he could do. In my opinion, these guys didn't want the work in the first place because it wasn't going to be a big enough money job. Yet again, it is so hard to find people to pay to do work for you around here! I will find someone else who truly values their customers and doesn't call them a 'smartass' on the phone!

When Craig was bringing the trailer to put the old shingles in, we had a issue getting a vehicle out of the driveway, so he offered to just bring it at a later time, like it wasn't any annoyance or problem. When the roof was replaced, the workers left no trash, no nails, no evidence that they had been there except for a great-looking new roof. When we first called them, we had a leak in our roof and water was coming in through our bathroom ceiling, and Chris came out and made and emergency temporary repair, as well. These guys do a great job. I thought the price of our new roof was very reasonable. They also support veterans.

I…read morehad a roof inspection scheduled for 11:30 a.m. CST, but the inspector, Chris, didn't show up until 2:51 p.m. When he finally arrived, he spent no more than 5 minutes looking at my roof and nearly an hour talking with my neighbor instead. At the end, his response was: "Unfortunately, we cannot take on a big project like this. There's foundation work. The walls are not supported correctly to hold the roof, and I think that's why the trusses are collapsing." This was extremely unprofessional. For someone who barely inspected the roof to claim that the foundation is bad doesn't seem like an honest or accurate assessment. The company may have been in business for seven years, but in my opinion, Chris spent more time engaging with my neighbor than addressing the reason I called him out in the first place. I would not recommend this company. I'll be moving on to find someone serious and reliable for the job--I don't have time to play games with businesses like this.
