Food was great but you don't make a margarita with that much OJ that the color of the margarita is orange. MAYBE put a splash in but imo you ruin a classic margarita with any OJ. Wow. This place rocks. Myself and my boyfriend's family ate here for three meals out of our five meals out in Mexico, it was THAT amazing. We got the Mexican flag burrito with barbacoa, chimichanga style, and holy SH*T my world has been changed. I don't write yelp reviews often but wow... that burrito could be my last meal and I'd die a happy lady. We got the coconut shrimp which was also amazing with the side sauce, WOW that was phenomenal; and for drinks we got three Miami vices, two sucker punches, and some cokes and they were all stellar. The star of the show though was our server, Antonio! He had the best attitude, got us our food in a timely manner as we were in a rush, and went above and beyond to give us every little thing we needed! And did it all with a smile. Nice spot with a big hut that's outdoor. I like the vibe and it's a great place to grab some drinks. Ceviche- 1/5 . It lacked flavor and was a bit on the dry side. It could've used some more lime or salt or anything. Carne asada burrito- 2.5/5. It's an average burrito but not something I'd go back for. Nachos- 3/5. Good. They use the canned nacho cheese sauce, and not the real melted cheese. So, if you're not a fan of the nacho cheesy sauces, then I suggest you pass. Quesadillas- 3/5. They were just regular cheese quesadillas and nothing to write home about. But I wasn't too fond of the cheese that they used since it lacked flavor. The waiter was rude to my friend when she asked a simple question. It set the mood for the rest of the meal. Not sure what his name was but he not only said, "so are you going to get the fries or not" in a tone but he never came back to check on us after. Would we go back? Mehhhhhhhhh. I ordered a margarita. Easy, right? Especially in Mexico. This was the WORST margarita I have ever tasted. It was so bitter/sour I couldn't even finish it. My husband's burger was huge. He said it was decent, nothing special. My churro bites were good, but the chocolate sauce was little more than Hershy's syrup in a plastic cup. The service was ok. The bar itself is kinda cute. Recently visited the area for the first time and all of the people in the area at our resort said that Banditos is a great place to be. They said it's fun, upbeat and has live music on the weekends and gets busy. Sadly, we weren't there on the weekend so our only chance to go was for a weekday lunch when it was dead. It was an easy place to visit because it was a two minute walk from our place. The setup inside looked like it would be a fun atmosphere for live music because of the stage and an upper area. Since it was pretty dead we sat outside for lunch. The service wasn't the best in terms of speed but it was fine because we weren't in any rush. We ordered the Mexican Flag Burrito with carne asada and the Banditos tacos with grilled shrimp. Both of the dishes were super tasty and exceeded both of our expectations! The food tasted very fresh and the salsas that came with everything were one of the best parts of the dishes. The margaritas were pretty solid too because they weren't too sweet or sour. Overall if you're in the area I'd recommend this place for a Mexican lunch or dinner. Hopefully you can see the live music too! read more

Our waitress walked up cussing out other customers. She had an attitude the entire time and seemed annoyed we didn't know what we wanted to drink right away. I ordered the Cadillac margarita. It was absolutely disgusting I didn't even drink it. $10 for a disgusting drink. Too expensive for the area. Tasted 100% of sour mix and no tequila not to mention it was missing the float of grand marnier. I had carne asada tacos. They were just ok. There was A lot of fat in meat which is weird for carne asada. There was live band. They were attempting to play music by James brown. But their whole vibe was more jimmy Buffett. They should really stick to their style and NEVER stray from it. This place is an American restaurant transported to Mexico. Literally gringos and ex-pats only. I will NEVER go here again. read more

I got some chicken tenders with ranch- let me say the ranch was muy good. By muy good I mean very good if you're not international like myself. The Carne Asada was mucho dry- again, the steak was very dry if you can't speak Spanish L.O.L.! I loved the chips and salsa, but who doesn't? They were almost as good as if I had gotten them home made! I'll have to nab the recipe. As a Godly woman, the pirate theme was a little scary for me- especially the skeleton decor. However, I'm rating the food here. It was just okay. I figured since I was in Mexico it would be stellar Mexican food. In actuality, it was pretty plain. The ceviche was good, but the street tacos were just meh and the drinks weren't mind-blowing. For reference, I live in California and my sister in law is Mexican, so I might be a little spoiled by good Mexican food. Would I recommend it?
