December 30, 2024. Monday. Lunch. Went here with my wife for lunch. We ordered the Vampiro with papas (285 pesos), a carne asada taco (40 pesos), and a quesadilla with carne (70 pesos) and 2, 12-ounce Mexican Cokes (60 pesos). Altogether, we spent $22.22 for lunch. We noticed on this trip that Rocky Point prices were very similar to what we were spending in the United States. This place is very clean and we sat at the inside dining. Note: they only take cash here, DO NOT order assuming you can use a debit card. They are generous with the topping tray, which includes: lettuce, 2 salsa, an avocado sauce, limes, and cucumbers. To be honest, these are large portions and we would have been full with just the Vampiro with potatoes. The Cokes with real cane sugar are always better than our American ones with high fructose corn syrup. A small portion of the beef was a little grisly with fat. I subtracted one star for this and the fact that they ONLY take cash. This is a decent, clean eatery. They offer their entire menu with either corn or flour tortillas. A revisit after a year & a half ! Same setup with their cozy dining area off the street. Everything I remember was excellent, especially the Carne Tacos which come with all the fixings, cucumbers salsa , chopped cabbage, tomato based salsa! Didn't go wild & try more food this time. Would told the server and he tried to "fix it" and the server was super rude after he brought it back out and it was the same thing just parm on the side. I don't mind paying but don't be rude. $ Tacos Brissa is a great stop when in Puerto Peñasco, especially for any Americans that want authentic (not touristy) food. This time around nobody spoke English, which is understandable, but holding up fingers for how many we wanted and saying the item we figured it out. Lol. They only have about 10 items on their menu (if that), and most involve steak, cheese, and tortillas in some kind of variety. Carne Asada Tacos, Pollo Asado Tacos, Quesadillas, Quesadillas con Carne, Chile Relleno, Papa Rellena, Vampiro, I might have missed a couple things but that's mostly it. After you order you can find a table, most of which are indoors. Then grab sodas in the fridge, and then they'll bring you a toppings tray with a couple salsas, lime wedges, cucumbers, shredded cabbage, guacamole, etc. The items they have in their menu they do well. It does end up being a little same same after a bit, but it was still tasty. I ordered the Papa Rellena, which despite not liking peppers, I really enjoyed, especially on one of their tortillas. The potatoes are steamed and chunked/mashed up a little, covered with peppers, cheese, and Carne Asada. It's a whole potato so it's filling for an individual person, or fun for a table to share. I will definitely order that again. I'd also order the Carne Asada Tacos again. It's simple, but with the tray of condiments you can make it your own. The food from Tacos Brissa is delicious and the real deal. Don't be mislead by the plain looking tacos in the pictures- the meats are so delicious and flavorful that they need very little. I loved that they make all these regional Sonoran variations. Try the caramelo, it is delicious. The prices are also awesome (I attached a menu pic that this yelp page was sorely lacking). These are local prices, this is not Old Port, and you'll be very pleased. Tip: There is a counter where you can order for takeaway, but if you plan on eating where they have indoor seating, just sit down and a someone will serve you. Also, they don't serve beer, but they encouraged me to run across the street to the Oxxo and grab beer to bring in. I love Mexico. read more

Second time going to Rocky Point, and this was the first restaurant we returned to when getting into town! Such a simple but amazing menu. I was pleasantly surprised with the Chile Relleno which was served with 4 tortillas (almost like a sandwich)- it was extremely filling for me to eat! We tried a little of everything, and the Vampiras with carne asada were probably our favorite item. These tacos are great because they're tasty, well seasoned, have plenty of meat and are a great price! The condiment platter has everything you need - guac, pico de gallo, limes, salsa and cabbage. Both the flour tortillas and corn tortillas are delicious so you can't go wrong. My family and I decided that Tacos Brissa is now our go-to for tacos while we are in Rocky Point. After being unimpressed with the service at our usual go-to taco joint in RP, we decided to try this place out and we all enjoyed the food and service. I didn't have everything off the menu but our party of 8 went through the entire menu as far as meat options for tacos and there wasn't anything on there that we didn't like. My personal fav was the chicken tacos and the quesadillas. It's your classic Mexican taco restaurant with all kinds of meat options, All the fix-ins, awesome service and you cant beat the price. We don't normally head over to this area, but we had to check it out after reading Yelp reviews. First, a minor warning. After turning off Constitution, none of the streets had names identified until we found Ocampo. If you don't have GPS in Mexico, it's helpful to know it's on the 6th road over and just count the roads you cross (it's on the corner and plenty of signage once you get there). Second, very little English spoken here. Don't worry. Menu is clear and servers are patient. Third, the Papas Relleno is worth all the above. Haven't had anything like it here. Terrific flavor and lots of fixins so you can adjust spices for each person. And one order is enough for 3 people.
