Seemingly authentic Mexican cuisine. Went for lunch and it was reasonably priced for being in Ogunquit. I had a chicken quesadilla with a margarita. The drink was made perfect, $11.99 for the cazadores tequila which is a reasonable price. The quesadilla was cooked perfect with melted cheese on top. I was a little surprised they didn't bring out chips and salsa like most other Mexican restaurants do when waiting for the food to come out though. Perhaps you have to ask, I'm not sure. This is a staple for our family during our annual stay in Ogunquit. It is challenging finding a did I get option after 9:00PM, so this really comes in handy after a long day at the beach. Came here tonight for a drink. We asked if they were still serving alcohol when we walked in at 10:55. We were told "yes/ only alcohol not food," bought our drinks and sat outside to have them. 5 minutes later we were kicked off of the patio and were told that we need to finish them inside because the patio was closing. We barely had any of our drinks at this point. While we were inside we heard nothing but inappropriate conversation about someone previous sexual encounters and nobody was asking him to quiet down or keep his conversation to a lower volume. Ogunquit is a tourist hot spot, and just by sheer volume alone any restaurant there is going to prosper. And if you're in the mood for "Mexican" food, (which I believe we are now supposed to call Central American inspired cuisine according to the PC police) this is where you'd go to sit and eat stuff with tortillas and melted cheese and drink stuff that's cold and has tequila and limes and stuff. I wouldn't know though, because although the website EMPHASIZES on the welcome page that they're open every day until 10pm Memorial Day to Columbus Day that's apparently not the case. I drove an hour with a van load of super hungry kids, we arrived there at 6 to find the place looking pretty closed. I call and a lady picked up and said..."oh yeah we're not opening until next weekend, sorry" ....and I replied "oh that's really annoying because your website says you're open till 10 starting memorial day weekend. And I just drove an hour with a bunch of hungry kids excited about Mexican food." And her reply was " ha ha ha ha ha sorry." We'll at very least I got to brighten up her night with a good laugh at our expense due to her lack of consideration. I'm always glad to have myself and my children be the butt of a good laugh. As people of color and of the LGBTQA+ community I suppose we should expect it...Although I didn't expect it in Ogunquit! I just hope that delightful guffaw meant I inspired sone glee and good spirits that will embolden that lady towards EXCELLENT customer service this tourist season. In the mean time, dear lady who answered the phone. Your sense of humor sucks. And so do your skills at updating your website. It takes 15 minutes. I know you're in Ogunquit which means you have a built in customer base and really don't have to give two craps about any single opinion such as my insignificant input....But when you're that inconsiderate...can't let that one slide....and on principle...I just have to give you my blue ribbon "you suck" award. read more

My wife and I got the fish tacos, which were delicious. The chips and salsa was also very good. Very pleased with the food and service. We also really enjoyed the restaurant itself, especially the decorations and the bright colors of the walls. We also really liked sitting outside by the fire pit on a cool evening. The food here is absolutely delicious. Both my chicken quesadilla and my fiancé's burrito were quite tasty. We also ordered Nachos bel Grande which were phenomenal. That being said, the wait was atrocious. The place was practically empty and it still took over 15 minutes for a server to take our order. Then it was another half hour wait for food, and then another 20 minutes after we finished eating before we got our check. The waiter was friendly enough, but it was still quite a long wait for 2:30 in the afternoon. Stopped in here to scratch a taco itch on the way back from the beach. I ordered the steak tacos with some extra guacamole (I'm a sucker for it) to go. I knew by just looking at the finished product it was made by someone who has never enjoyed a decent taco in their life. There was more cilantro than steak. The steak was chewy and flavorless. When I picked it up to take a chomp the entire ensemble fell apart (soggy tortilla without a fortifying tortilla to help). Do not eat here. read more

Receptionist / server answered but placed the phone on the table and never came back to the phone to take my order. ( hung up and just walked down Shore drive to place my take out order.) As I tried to talk to the bartender, a woman-who claimed to be an owner-kept interrupting my conversation with the bartender. She kept talking over me, telling the bartender what I wanted and how it should be served. (Think of it as reverse mansplaining) It went downhill from there. As I left, she told me to please 'don't trip on my way out'. Summary, great food.. the burrito was delicious. HOWEVER, if the woman at the bar is actually an owner, you made the experience totally miserable and just leave bar patrons alone with their drinks. read more

Great location with a nice patio. My son liked his kids taco and my quesadilla was decent but my husband was underwhelmed by his burrito and the portions were small for the price. Chips and salsa are NOT complementary. The service was awful. It wasn't crowded, yet we waited 15 minutes before our waiter showed up with waters and told us he'd be back soon to take our order. The food arrived quickly but then when the waiter took our credit card he forgot to give it back. All in all a frustrating experience. Don't recommend it. read more

Every time I go to Ogunquit I have to stop in to Bandito's. I love the food there and the drinks are delicious. I tend to usually get either the chicken fajitas or quesadilla which are both equally good. The staff are very friendly and welcoming! read more

We had a really great dinner tonight here. We decided to go even though the previous reviews didn't seem to be great and I'm so glad we did!! The staff was very friendly & quick with getting our order in. The mango margarita was SO good! Fish taco, shrimp burrito & a kids quesadilla for our 3yo was delicious. I'm not sure what these other folks were tasting but the salsa & pico de gallo was well seasoned with a slight kick (definitely had some jalapeño in it!) We even had chips & salsa before our meal, which we were not charged for. Loved the outdoor seating but it was nice to see there was good indoor option as well. Perfect little spot for an easy family dinner. Prices were also reasonable. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Ogunquit. read more

Excellent! I'd recommend going for dinner and sitting outside by the fire in the Adirondack chairs. My boyfriend and I pushed our chairs together so the arm rests made a side table and that worked nicely. Ambiance was very fun- loved people watching while enjoying the heat of the fire. Food was amazing. I had the chorizo quesadilla and my boyfriend built his own burrito. Margaritas were huge. Service is slow but I didn't want to rush while I was here. read more

While we are waiting for our table, my husband goes to the bar to get a drink. 5 minutes he stood at the bar and neither of the 2 men behind the counter paid any attention to him. He sat back down with us but watched as 2 girls went to the bar whom were waited on right away. Fast forward to our dinner, it was brought way to quickly (your probably surprised by this phrase.) I feel I should have to wait at least 10-15 minutes for my food to be cooked. I feel like our food was pre made or something because we got our food in legit 5 minutes and it was COLD! Aside from that, for the amount we paid, the surviving size was so small! We are absolutely disappointed and will not return. The food wasn't even anything to write home about. So disappointed! I live here year round and have LOTS of visitors, besides the traditional Lobster Feed, all of our family and friends just love Bandito's. The prices are very reasonable for our large family, the staff are funny and very attentive, always making sure the youngest kids are served quickly. My oldest son travels worldwide and he loves the Mexican dishes, he says they are authentic, spicy and filling. I personally like the way I can still get my favorite dish....Shrimp tacos with just the right flavorings. The decor and atmosphere is all part of the dining experience too. love the fire pit. Bandito's is in a central location in downtown. We were sat right away and had a wonderful waitress who was helpful and remembered our drink orders exactly (yummy sangria)! Lots of outdoor seating and even the indoor seating for the most part was close to windows and views. My daughter said her quesadilla was the best ever, the grown ups enjoyed their dishes as well. I had the traditional tacos which were tasty but portion was fairly small. Kids drinks were expensively priced as well. The best part about Banditos is that there is rarely a wait, and they have a kids menu with chicken fingers & fries. This means when my family makes a day trip to Ogunquit, we usually stop st Banditos for dinner. We ate here last night and it was the usual. No wait- fantastic! With a hungry, whiny 3 & 6 year old after a long day, those are some of the best words a parent can hear. You pay extra for chips & salsa here, or pico as they call it. Annoying for sure and I've never been to another Mexican restaurant, even in a resort town, that does this. The chips were burnt and flavorless, hard to do with a tortilla chip. A lot of salt remedied that situation. The pico was also flavorless. More salt and some lime helped there. It took a long time for the chips to come out. I have no idea why. Now the reason we come here is it's one of the only places in Ogunquit that has chicken fingers and fries & my 6 year old was thrilled with them. Banditos doesn't have chocolate syrup to make chocolate milk, which is a bit strange. We brought our own and they had no issue with it. I had a grilled chicken quesadilla. Again, there was almost no seasoning. It was incredibly plain. And I don't like spicy food, but the food was not seasoned at all. Banditos is passable if you're looking for a quick sit down meal with your kids. It's not gourmet, but it's perfectly passable and we will happily go here again the next time we're in town. read more
