My dad and stepmother are very meticulous when it comes to Shane's wellbeing and health. They will not settle on mediocre establishments. The Fur Machine is miles above mediocre. My family has been using the Fur Machine for Shane's grooming needs. The Fur Machine, as evidenced by their high rating average, is a reputable grooming shop that provides a sundry of services for dogs and cats. My firsthand experience with this highly reputable business took place last week when I visited my family. A couple of days short of Shane's one year anniversary, it was time to give him a haircut. He is a labradoodle that requires a lot of grooming. When we arrived at the Fur Machine, an enthusiastic staff greeted us. They seemed to adore animals. Shane seemed to pick up on this positive vibe. This visit was on a busy day. The enthusiastic woman who took in Shane promised that he would be ready in two-and-a-half hours. Keeping to her word, a newly groomed Shane was ready by the promised time. If Shane could Yelp, he would say that "The Fur Machine did a fantastic job grooming me. The before and after photos are evidence of the remarkable haircut that the Fur Machine gave me."

I believed I was doing so and the puppy I was waiting for was adopted right out from under me. I have many messages between us specifying which animal I was waiting to adopt. Yet still it was adopted by someone else. There was no sense of remorse for ruining my birthday present, nor was there any remorse , more importantly, for their error. I was told to come and pick another one like it was no big deal. For me it was a big deal because I already had chosen a name for the puppy and purchased many items for that specific puppy I felt a connection with. I do not want anyone else to be treated in this harsh, uncaring way. I do not want anyone else to go through the same pain. I think what is the most hurtful is their inability to take responsibility for their error and the heartache it has caused. They simply maintained focus on some set of notes they had filled with misinformation that I was able to prove it was misinformation with photos from our thread of mesages. That in itself represents their irresponsibility and concern for client feelings I am hoping this improves their responsibility to the commitments they make, as well as the accuracy of the notes they maintain. I hope they learn to return to message threads to review the conversations they hold. These conversations contain needed information for the adoptions they conduct. I hope they learn how to rectify their mistakes and admit to them. This is a fabulous way to earn people's respect and confidence in their ability to maintain a rescue.

I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years, and until now, I've always trusted the care and professionalism they have provided. I had a 12:00 noon appointment for my small dog, and under normal circumstances, grooming has taken between 2 to 3 hours. At drop-off, I was told this visit might take closer to 4 hours -- which, while longer than usual, I accepted. However, I was shocked when it ultimately took 6 hours and 20 minutes before my dog was ready. This extended time is unacceptable, especially for a small dog who cannot comfortably go that long without food or a break. I raised my concerns at pickup and requested a refund or partial credit, but instead was told that the long delay was due to the care and time they take with each dog. While I ABSOLUTELY appreciate quality grooming, this SHOULD be factored into how appointments are scheduled. Leaving a dog for over six hours without clear communication or updates is both inconsiderate and, frankly, irresponsible. I expected more from a business I've supported for two decades. Unfortunately, based on this experience and the lack of accountability, I've decided I will not be returning.

She even took us in early and allowed my fur son to walk around and get familiar with the space before starting--something I truly appreciated. She took the time to ask me exactly what I wanted and also gave helpful suggestions based on her expertise. You can tell she really cares about both the pets and their owners. Her shop smells amazing and is extremely clean, which is so important to me. I also loved that there were no cages--only play pens--creating a calm, safe, and welcoming environment. Her crew truly feels like family. Everyone there was so loving, gentle, and attentive. You can feel the positive energy the moment you walk in. I'm new to the neighborhood and always get nervous leaving my fur baby anywhere, but Ms. Lori completely put me at ease. She was lighting speed, he was literally done in about 45 minutes (which is terrific bc this little guy gets anxious typically, but I don't feel like he would be there!). We've used other boarding facilities out of state, but this was the first time leaving our girls in NY. We needed somewhere we could have peace of mind, and they exceeded our expectations! The Farmingdale location is gorgeous. It's spacious, beautifully laid out, and so clean that you can't detect a dog smell. In order to make a reservation though, they did have to schedule a two-hour temperament evaluation prior to their stay. Once that was completed, we were able to continue on with finalizing our reservation. They offered two suite options, the Comfort and Imperial. Jacquelyn was a pleasure to work with. She was kindhearted, friendly, and really supportive in organizing their stay. She was the primary staff member who assisted us with check-ups, updates, occasional pictures, and check-out. Initially, our dogs may have been reserved, but afterwards, they were definitely excited to be there. My husband & I could tell they had a great time. Not only were they happy but the exit bath pampered them even further. Yeah, they were spoiled and will continue to be spoiled! We plan on bringing them here for our future vacation needs.
