Hmm, where should I begin? As you can see from the other reviews, it is a poorly managed building. Because the walls are so thin, you literally have "invisible" roommates. I could smell the neighbor's aftershave and hear my neighbors talking about their farts. Our luck continued when we lived next to section 8 neighbors who lived downstairs. They played salsa and rap music and smoked weed all day long, while their kids screamed non-stop. Since they didn't work, you never got a break from hearing them. In fact, I heard the neighbor say, "I ain't going to work for $15 an hour". She was living rent-free, of course. Management told us to take our computer and work in one of the common rooms when we complained about the noise and the weed. We can be inconvenienced, but the bums who live downstairs cannot be disturbed. Former neighbors have told us there are mice in the first floor units and that neighbors constantly call the police on one another. Paying your last bill wasn't easy either; management advised us to send personal checks/bank checks, but Greystar corporate said they should not be accepting payments and that the final bill should be paid online or by phone. From the beginning to the end, Bancroft Lofts has been a total mess. Last but not least, be cautious about your utility bills. Many residents commented that our bills seemed high, but it's actually because the windows aren't insulated, making it harder to heat in the winter. Furthermore, if you live in the loft building, you have to walk to the front of the building, you cannot use the side door, so imagine taking your dog out to pee when it's raining or 12 degrees outside. It's so inconvenient, but the staff who live there have a key to enter through the side door! read more

I live in Lofts 302 and I echo the frustration others have shared about dismal parking spaces, constant maintenance problems, and disrespectful management. I'd also like to shed light on another issue: moisture and mold. For months, my apartment walls had water leaking through them and mold grew. I had to involve the Framingham board of health and will be moving out early at the end of March 2022. The management and maintenance staff failed to mitigate the water and mold when I first reported it. They refused to take responsibility and tried to hide behind vague language in the lease to dictate the positioning of my furniture instead of confronting the root cause of the water. And they refused to defray moving costs. Based on this experience, I would not recommend living at Bancroft Lofts. read more

Now that I have gotten my deposit back I can leave my review. Living here resulted in probably the longest year of my life. This is going to be a long review, so get ready. Like other reviewers have stated, parking is an absolute joke. They now have a policy that you can only have ONE car per unit. So, either you have to live in these apartments alone or you and/or your roommates have to sell their cars. Sounds reasonable! There are no guest spots either (technically 5 but they're always taken by company trucks). They make it super difficult to get the guest passes as well. I had to request a guest pass for a dog sitter a couple weeks in advance. The drive into the complex is dangerous and too narrow. People speed around the corner and I've almost gotten hit several times. People also park their cars on the sides so you have to squeeze your way through to leave the complex. This has been an issue with first responders getting into the complex. No one is able to access the lobby of the buildings without a key fob, but the intercom is inside the Vista building...not sure why they thought that made any sense. So you have to go down to pick up your guests. Packages will also get delivered in the wrong building and you won't get a notification. I've had to search the complex for several packages only to realize that it was in the package room that I never got a code to. The package room is so unorganized. You will have to inspect every package in order to find yours. I have lived in 5 other apartments (new and old) and these take the prize for thinnest walls. My neighbors had a very tumultuous relationship. I only knew this because I could hear their fights WORD FOR WORD. They also loved music with a lot of bass, so it was incredibly loud and irritating. You will hear dogs barking from WAY down the hall, people slamming their doors, babies crying, people and dogs running up and down the halls, etc. And the lovely smell of weed will enter your home as well. Management implements pointless rules. They tried limiting where our pets can go potty by telling us they're not allowed to pee on the mulch. They have the absolute gall to tell us where our dogs can go, how we recycle boxes, etc. but they don't bother to address any of our complaints and concerns. How about you worry about all the smokers discarding their cigarets in the only place our dogs are allowed to access! It's disgusting seeing all the butts just scattered over the property. Last but not least, the fire alarms. The issue isn't necessarily the building (although it has been a few times), but the other residents. Several times some residents will open their front door to air out smoke into the hall. This causes the alarm to go off in the entire building. I had to evacuate my pets and myself out in the snow at both midnight and 5am several times, occasionally on the same day. The office would never send out a response to the alarm. They left us in the dark until people started complaining, but they had excuses every time. One fire alarm, my dog and I were attacked by another residents dog. Like his entire head was in this dogs mouth. I had to punch it off of us. Picture lots of screaming, blood, and tears. I had to go to the closest emergency vet to take care of my dog and took myself to a clinic to take care of my wounds. The apartment was notified but didn't seem to care and called it a "scuffle." A scuffle. I wouldn't rush the two of us to the emergency vet and clinic for a scuffle. They only cared once I brought in animal control. They claimed they made their own report, but when I called animal control they said they only got the report from my vet. The lot is so small that it was impossible to make distance between myself and other dogs. I stopped feeling safe here after that incident, and was frequently accosted by the same dog and other big aggressive dogs. Both of my pets are now terrified of any noice that sounds like an alarm. Something they didn't care about before the attack. People feel it's appropriate to have their dogs on extendable leashes and have them at the longest lead, or they'll have them off leash completely. Oh but their dogs are friendly, so it's okay. But supposedly so was the giant dog that attacked us. I had neighbors that let their dogs run up and down the halls off leash and then acted like I was being totally unreasonable when asked if they kept them on leash in public areas. It's so dangerous and I'm afraid they will continue to be careless until they get attacked or they do the attacking. This place is only "pet friendly" because it allows every pet regardless if it's dangerous or not. So for any future resident - get pet insurance, noise cancelling headphones, a good psychotherapist, and a personal driver. Good luck and stay safe! You can find better than this place. read more

The apartments are beautiful, however there are endless maintenance issues that should have been worked out prior to allowing people to move in. Many of the outlets in our apartment don't work and we once had no electricity/power in one of the bedrooms and the den for a whole week. The elevators in the Lofts building are always broken, which is not ideal for people with disabilities or who have dogs that can't walk up multiple flights of stairs. The parking garage door is always broken and left open, allowing anyone to enter. At least one bike has been stolen out of the garage and a car recently had its tires stolen from the top floor of the garage because it the garage door was left open. They still continue to leave it open, allowing anyone to enter and putting everyone's vehicles at risk. The sides of the garage are not closed, which essentially defeats the purpose of having a garage at all. The cars along the sides of the garage get covered in snow. I walked into the garage this morning and the entire garage was filled with snow and has not been plowed. There is also trash and dog poop all over the property outside, and there is almost always trash in the hallways and elevators, as well. I have pulled trash, cardboard, chewed gum, headphones, and many other things out of my dog's mouth because people do not clean up after themselves or their dogs and management has not sent out any notices about this. They are also now trying to dictate where we can take our dogs outside. I was told this morning by the maintenance worker that we are no longer allowed to bring our dogs right in front of the building (but was not given a reason) and was asked to walk all the way around to the side/back of the building. Please keep in mind that it was 5 degrees outside this morning, far too cold to be walking around outside to where they want us to go. For a place that is being advertised as "pet friendly," it is most definitely not friendly towards pets or their owners. I have complained to Diana multiple times about the large amount of dog poop all over the property and have asked that they send out an email to the community reminding people to clean up after their dogs. They continue to tell me they understand my concerns but have done nothing about it. I have stepped in dog poop multiple times and have had to, on multiple occasions, pull other dogs' poop out of my puppy's mouth because people aren't picking it up. This is a risk to the health of all dogs on property, as they can get parasites, worms, etc. The one of the biggest problems with this place is the horrible lack of parking. There are not enough parking spots to allow for every apartment to have one spot, but it is almost impossible to live in Framingham without a car. Also, they only allow one spot per apartment, so if you have two people in the same apartment who work at two different places and need two cars (which is very common), one person is forced to go without a car. They also only have FIVE parking spots for guests that you have to reserve ahead of time, making it virtually impossible to have last minute guests over. And if all five spots are already taken, the staff do not care and are completely unwilling to help you. I ran into this problem last weekend and Diana simply said that other people got the spots first and she couldn't help me. I asked if my guests could park in an empty spot in the garage, as they would only be there for a few hours, and she just said no and then walked away to give a tour. The management company needs to fix the parking problem and many other issues before continuing to advertise this place and renting out more apartments. read more

As many others have stated, the apartments are terribly managed with terrible parking. My first major complaint is the Vista building was simply not up to snuff in terms of being built. Pipes have burst flooding multiple apartments, the garage door is frequently open leading to stolen bikes and tires literally being ripped off cars, and the biggest grievance is the fire alarms in the vista building. 3 times in January, they have gone off at 10pm. Each time, they had "ghost alarms" that sounded off an hour or so later and only lasted a few minutes. In the past, the fire alarm has literally gone off every hour for an entire day, and we never got a single email from management. People often park in the very small alleyway between the buildings, and I have first handedly seen them block emergency services like firefighters from getting to the Vista building. Parking is terrible. Every resident pays money for a parking spot, but are limited to a single spot. In addition, there are only 5 guest parking spots total at this location, which are frequently taken by maintenance men or service providers. You literally cannot have guest, not a spouse that needs a second car. That doesn't even touch upon the fact that the garage is useless. The gate is always open so it's no secure, and the garage is open along the sides so snow still gets all throughout the garages. Their team is also terrible about clearing snow. Additionally, they seem to think simply fining people is the best way to approach people. Dog poop? fine. Trash somewhere? fine. You put a single box in recycling that wasn't 100% collapsed? fine. Please stay away from this place, my spouse and I want to leave right away. read more

The Lofts are genuinely fantastic, especially when scaled to similarly available units in the metro west area, and even many of the "luxury" loft-style buildings in Boston. My heating and cooling costs are low. The unit itself is air tight, so much so that you might want to crack a window when cooking or cleaning. The large windows provide 4-5 degrees of solar radiation in the afternoon. The waste disposal here is impressive and well maintained. This is the first trash room that I won't plug my nose for when I'm dropping off large boxes. My only gripe is poor acoustics (loft stuff) and pigeons in the parking garage. Other than that, the photos do the spaces justice. Management and maintenance are folks you know by name because they're friendly and professional. read more

The apartments are physically beautiful as everyone has stated but there are simply way too many issues as people have mentioned. The pool has barely been open on the weekends this summer (was also not open last summer AT ALL) so therefore I've been living here for over a year (two summers) and the pool has been open for 2 or 3 weekends. There has been no rent reduction for this. In fact, when I called to ask about potential rent reduction or reimbursement a few weeks ago when the pool was consistently closed (closed almost every weekend of July), I was interrupted on the phone by a male manager before I could even finish the question and told "no, this is a problem for every apartment building in Framingham." The parking garage door is broken every few months. It was just broken for about two weeks with the door constantly open for that two week period. Yet parking cost an atrocious $200 a month. Visitor parking is probably the worst issue. There are five visitor spaces for the ENTIRE COMPLEX between the two buildings. They will respond by stating this is a "city area" and we should feel lucky to even have five visitor spots but if you're from Massachusetts you would understand that this is absolutely ridiculous. This is Framingham, not Boston. This is something they should have thought about before opening the property. There is plenty of space surrounding the building for this. They've been saying for almost a year now that "they are working on it" in regards to making more visitor parking and the visitor parking system easier in general but it has yet to change. I've lived in other buildings before and the way the parking pass system works is also ridiculous with having to call days ahead of time to secure a visitor pass. If you want to have a last minute person over to your apartment you can forget about it but it's ridiculous because at times when I'd want to have my girlfriend over last minute there will be nobody in the visitor spaces but they still can't park there without that piece of paper or they'll get towed. And your guest WILL get towed. I've even gotten towed parking MY OWN CAR WITH A BANCROFT STICKER ON IT while parking in the guest spot so that my mom who came last minute after a family emergency could use my spot in the garage for the night. There were also three other visitor parking spaces open this night when my car was towed. Lastly, I was told my rent was going to increase by over $250 and parking doubled 15 days before the deadline to either give my notice or re-sign a lease. I had management call me during that 15 day period twice asking me if I made a decision yet to stay or leave. The walls are also extremely thin. I can hear my upstairs neighbor and his partner almost every night. As someone else mentioned, since moving in June 2021, I've had at least 3 packages stolen or nowhere to be found. Not fun. As with everywhere right now, the rent for the apartments is ridiculously high. I live in a one bedroom but I know the smallest studio units are over $2,000 for a 500 square foot box. This doesn't even include parking. The apartments are beautiful, the complex is relatively safe, and the gym space is amazing, however, with all these other issues, it does not make the high price of rent worth it. There are other beautiful buildings in the area that do not have these issues. With everyone stating the same issues here for the past year, you'd think something would be done, especially about the parking. Look elsewhere. read more

Moved in mid 2021 and would like to share this unprecedented renting experience. Package room/locker has been constantly out of service and missing new package notification in the past couple of months. Random and frequent fire alarms late night that is disruptive to normal life expectation. Broken garage door left unfixed for days that brings significant safety concerns, while parking policy is extremely unfriendly. I don't recommend living here specially for the unreasonably high rent that you pay for this property. It is advertised as a luxury apartment but it's indeed not. Most amenities are typically unavailable but still aggressively advertised during tours and online. There are numerous security issues including packages being stolen. The management is on site but only for new apartment tours. Please don't forget that it is way too close to the rail station and you can hear the trains and also feel the aggressive floor vibrations. For this price, you can definitely find a better place. read more

The leasing staff is courteous and attentive. However, after our application was cancelled, we have yet to receive a refund of our deposit. It's now been 6 weeks and despite multiple phone conversations and emails, I have not received a response on when our deposits would be returned. They were executed via credit card - a simple refund should take days, not a month and a half. At first I was told the accounting dept wasn't fully set up yet, but seeing as the property will be ready to receive tenants in 2 weeks, it's hard to believe accounting isn't up and running. Hate to leave a negative review, but at this point, I don't see another option. read more

I moved into this complex with my significant other after living in Framingham for 10+ years. At first, we were very excited as it was new and appeared beautiful. Over the course of our 12 month lease, things turned for the worst leaving an absolute distaste in my mouth. For being a new building, it's amazing how many issues there are. If you like being woken up by constant fire alarms, this is the place for you. Also, if you enjoy paying a hefty price for rent, but can't use all the amenities then this place is also for you. The pool is SPORADICALLY open. You want to use the pool on a nice, sunny weekend?? Forget it, it's probably not open. Their excuse for this is Framingham regulations. Why did management not think of that prior to opening a pool for residents? When management has addressed this issue, all they have done is empathize with the community over the frustration. The "pet friendly" advertising is utter nonsense considering management attempts to dictate where you can take your dog to the bathroom outside. As if an animal has the ability to hold their bladder or bowels to get to one certain area upon being let out to go to the bathroom. The garage door is CONSTANTLY broken allowing for nonresidents to enter the garage at their will which has allowed for bikes getting stolen as well as damage to cars. The garage door has been broken for almost two weeks now as I'm writing this. Management notified residents this was supposed to have been fixed last week, but i have yet to have to use my garage door opener in weeks so clearly that's not the case. Mail carriers leave your packages in the lobby or mail room in the garage.....as if package theft doesn't exist. Aside from the garage door breaking, there's also barely any parking including for residents. If you're a couple with two cars, forget about parking. They expect only one car per household and charge for both. If you have a medical or emergency situation, EMS probably won't make it to your apartment very fast considering the narrow driveway that is constantly congested with cars making it extremely difficult for any car including EMS to get by. The lofts building has had bug and mold problems so if you're a fan of living with the wild in your own home maybe this is the place for you! As if the 12 months of living here didn't suck enough, upon your lease coming to an end they will automatically renew your lease at a skyrocketed rate ($500 more a month, plus having to pay more in parking) if you don't notify them within a short service window. If you are thinking of applying to live here, I would strongly recommend re-evaluating your thought process and running for the hills. read more
