Stir-fried fish cake, cucumber kimchi, Gimbap, Bulgogi

If you enjoy Korean food, Banchan is a great place to try, especially if you prefer dining at home. It's conveniently located near Greenland Supermarket, so you can pick up your prepared meals at Banchan after shopping at Greenland, or vice versa. I couldn't take photos of the shop because I didn't have much time, just like the ladies at Banchan who were busy preparing delicious Korean food behind the counter. I could see what they were doing and noticed how organized and clean their work area was. I ordered cucumber kimchi, stir-fried fishcake, bulgogi, and gimbap. Everything tasted exactly as I had hoped--freshly made, well-seasoned, and delicious! While their portions are smaller and their prices are higher than those at Greenland's, they offer a much greater variety of prepared meals. They also have different kinds of lunchboxes and sliced meats for your next K-Bbq. Banchan is not a sit-down restaurant. You choose the ones you like, pay, and then leave.

Best banchan in town! They have a wide variety of kimchees including fresh kimchee! I think they are the only ones on the west side of the 15 fwy that sell fresh kimchee. I found a Korean bbq that would sell fresh kimchee but the owners changed and now it's gone! My heart was broken in half! I could probably try to learn but do you know how big my learning curve is ?!??!?!?!!? That's a lot of Napa cabbage & gochugaru! They have the staple banchan and they also make seasonal banchan. There's homemade, ready-made soups. A variety of jeons and kimbaps. The flavors are so on point; reminds me of my halmoni & Emo's cooking. I love that the banchan stays fresh for days (when you use a clean utensil of course). I used to buy my banchan from the big grocery stores but for some reason the japchae would spoil after a day, so weird. The banchan from other big popular Korean grocery is missing the authentic flavors. If you miss home cooked banchan, this is the place! It's fresh, flavorful, authentic Korean banchan. My soul is full and happy.

I went to eat at Goong kbbq and really loved their kimchi. They told me to come to this place because this is where they get it from. Needless to say I bought a tub to fly back home. The banchan here is tasty. I just wasn't a fan of the whole sliced cucumber because it was a bit salty. They have a bunch of ready made food to go as well. It's a small shop, but effective. I spent a good chunk of money and it was towards the end of day so they gave me free teobokki.

I really enjoy how it's a quick and convenient spot that serves delicious, authentic Korean side dishes. As soon as you walk in, you'll be greeted with a variety of options to choose from. My personal favorite is the fresh Kim chi and tuna gimbap that even has the perilla leaves in it!

Yet another great banchan place. Mom told me about it a few weeks ago so legged it over there. Very clean, a great selection of items and friendly service. Nice thing was that they sell a smaller portion of tteokbokki, which was a welcome surprise. The items were tasty and very reasonably priced. Located at the western end of the Greenland Market building. Plenty of parking.

One of the better banchan spots in Vegas because they have more variety than the standard stuff. You can also see the older Korean ladies making them in the open kitchen so you know it's not just resold or made by somebody else. There are more dedicated banchan spots popping up, and this one is a bit further from where I live in the SW area. But if I find myself in the Chinatown area, I will make it a point to drop by here to pick up some banchan.

******HIDDEN GEM***for CHEESE and Sandwiches*********…read more Cured & Whey is a small, not fancy, deli place with WINES and specialty items. But the main dig here is the cheese. If you do or have done wine tasting in California it's very much that same kind of feel here. This place is located in an industrial Park that is a short distance from Mandalay Bay. We knew that we wanted to try some of the cheeses. They also offer soup, salad, and a menu of sandwiches. Today they also offered two special sandwiches. We ordered the two special sandwiches (Tuna Melt & Mortadella) and a cheese board with added Truffle Cheese. We knew it would be too much food so we had 1/2 of the sandwiches wrapped to go. (and latter brought home a lot of the cheese board). I tried the Tuna Melt Special. It was served on very good toasted sour dough bread. The tuna was different and was made by Hobbs. It seemed more like fresh tuna than over baked canned tuna. It was embellished nicely with fire roasted tomatoes, pepperoncini, and provolone. I liked that it wasn't drippy or messy. But I do have to say that this isn't a traditional tuna melt because the cheese was part of the tuna salad. Still it was good so I can't complain. My husband enjoyed the Mortadella Special. He said that the mortadella was a higher quality than what most places sell. We tred a variety of cheese on our cheese board. The board was adorned with bread, figs, and corn nuts. What stood out were THE CHEESES. They all had a special creaminess to them and they all had flavors to them that surpass any cheeses that you can buy at your local market. The people there were friendly and helpful. Someone who was either an owner or manager asked us how everything was. Nice little extra casual Gem near to the Strip for Cheese, a Sandwich and maybe some wine.

I had been doing all my shopping at Greenland but it wasn't the same level of premium quality that I had found in the bay area and others. One lucky afternoon, I decided to grab some lunch at Café Sanuki and upon pulling into the market I noticed in the distance Korean characters pointing to a meat market. This immediately peaked my interest so I made my way over to check it out. This joint is nestled in between honey pig and co ahn and can be easy to miss given how small the storefront is. When I walked in the layout is simple. There are some meat items in the freezer on the right with brisket, pork jowl, intestine, etc., a fridge on the left with some side dishes and a few assorted items, and then directly ahead a counter with a bunch of premium meat products like short rib, marinated bulgogi and galbi, and other cuts as well. It seems they also double up and offer some "to go dishes" for lunch orders like combo boxes, fried chicken, etc. for those interested. The service both times I have been has been absolutely delightful and the quality here and selection is enough to make any meat fan happy. In my last few visits, I have picked up the wagyu brisket, the unmarinated short rib, rib finger, and of course the ribeye. All is perfect for a light grill and then some salt... absolute perfection. The quality is absolutely top notch and I have enjoyed every single cut so far. There is definitely a premium for the price but you are really getting what you pay for. The marbling is perfect and spot on and the tenderness is absolutely on point. This is a solid shop that deserves more press. Definitely check it out as they have just recently opened and of course are a small shop worth the support.
