This was the better. Literally, this is the best meal out I've ever had. There was only one tiny disappointment, which was that I'd looked at an old menu online and didn't realize and picked out this amazing sounding drink beforehand. If you see the Major Payne online, don't pick it in advance! LOL I did get a super nice Prosecco at happy hour for a fabulous price. My server was Jamie, and I ordered every suggestion she made, and was not disappointed. Started with a salad, perfect mix of sweet with charred peanuts for a touch of bitter. The cheese that was on that salad was phenomenal. One of the best salads I've ever eaten. Dinner was the lobster risotto. Hands down, best risotto I've ever eaten...and I thought Vessel in NOLA would never be beaten. So creamy. The butter poached lobster was perfect, so tender. There were macadamia nuts, which broke up the creaminess of the risotto and crispy sage, which was also a perfect break from that rich, perfectly cooked rice. Never had a better dish out. I'll be dreaming about it for months after I go home. I wasn't even thinking about dessert, but Jamie brought over a menu with so many gluten-free options. I got a mini pavlova that had coconut cream inside and raspberries and blueberries. I don't usually enjoy desserts with berries, but the tang was such a perfect compliment to the vanilla/coconut. Nice crispy shell too. It was so light that after the risotto, it didn't make me feel overstuffed. Such a cute, homey vibe, and I had a seat by the window and could watch the busy street. Wonderful that they had a parking lot too (free). Service was perfect. Jamie had a real sense for when she should stop by and kept my water glass filled at all times (and it was small). She was amazing. I left my glasses in the window sill and had pulled the curtain, so I missed them when I left. I went right back and she had held onto them for me. This place is perfection. I know it will be one of the top highlights of this birthday trip! Please, visit and have that lobster risotto. Your tummy will do a happy dance!

Fries were delicious! The lower level was freezing! There was a crazy draft that made it unbearable. Fortunately, we found a table by the windows and the baseboard heaters that was comfortable.

We were seated and greeted quickly, our beverages came out quickly, we ordered our breakfasts, and then we waited... and waited... and waited. I could see the kitchen pickup area from my seat, and I saw meals come out pretty slowly, maybe 1 or 2 at a time. These were delivered to tables as they came out, but I never any table get all of their meals at the same time. After about a 30 minute wait, when our waitress came over for refills (thankfully), she said our meals would come out "shortly." This wound up being more than 15 minutes more, and during that time she never came back over to us with updates or made eye contact. Once our meals did arrive, my meal was piping hot, but the other meal was lukewarm. I did see several other orders of my meal come up on the serving counter. It is possible that the kitchen was backed up, because customers seated after us got their meals in a much shorter amount of time. More likely, something happened to my order - possibly wrong or mis-delivered - and a backup order was needed. All the waitresses here were very young, and maybe they were not comfortable giving unpleasant updates about a meal problem. Personally, I would have preferred an update (I worked in restaurants years ago, I understand these things happen). SImply avoiding updates is, to me, a worse thing. Apart from meal #2 being lukewarm, everything else about our meals was good, quite enjoyable and filling. When we got our bill, I noticed that I was charged for coffee, even though the menu specifically said coffee was included. The waitress did not realize it was included, apologized, and corrected it. But there is no apparent rhyme or reason as to why certain menu items include free coffee or tea and others do not. It's too bad this happened, because for service otherwise, food quality, and restaurant location, it can be pretty good.

LOCAL is a classic favourite!…read more Finally they brought back the street curry (10/10). This appy is crazy delicious with so much flavour, I get it every time I come without fail. The dumplings are divine and have an amazing balance of flavour and texture. The beef tacos are good but pricey for the size, ($14 for three). We also tried the edamame (not pictured) which was great, not spicy as advertised but great flavour either way. Drinks and service are always top tier, haven't had a bad experience yet. Great spot to go before a game at TD place or watch the game there. Great atmosphere for a fun date night or a get together with friends. Even better in the summer when the patio is bumping.

Waitress came over gave us her name and asked ours (nice personal touch). We ordered a beer each and decide to order our Mai's at same time. Place was swamped and there was a line outside to come in. Our waitress (Roni) was kind enough to help with our selections and even offered up some recommendations. She came around 2 times to be sure everything was good The 4 stars are solely for 2 items that were beyond the control of our waitress. First my partner asked for salad instead of fries and requested dressing to be on the side. The salad arrived dressed but not a heavy dressing so it was fine. Secondly , I ordered the veggie burger which was delicious in flavor. The issue was it was not seared off so had texture of mushy beans. Hard to handle in a bun. But very tasty Both complaints are minor but do prevent a 5 star rating.
