I went to this restaurant today. And I ordered Padkee mao that I usually order in this restaruant. This padkee mao had a no taste even if I ordered spicy level5. I thought that they forgot to put sauce when they stir-fry it. So I explained one of the workers there. The worker, young Thai-American woman, she was very rude about my complain. She said it does not have sauce. It usually tastes like this (She did not tasted my food of course) Maybe I did not explain well, but I wish she tried to understand me. We moved to this area several months ago and found Bambu and we are so happy we did. The food is excellent. We have had several things and everything is fresh and good. Some we like more than others, but that is more preference not because there was anything wrong with the food. The Pad Thai is the best I have ever had. Really excellent. This gem is located at the corner of Coit and Campbell hidden behind a Starbucks and a Qdoba. I am so glad we found it. The food and service were both top notch. The menu and daily specials are not just your run of the mill Thai entries either. There are many authentic dishes and they are even off menu items that they will make if you ask. I was with my two young kids so we played it pretty safe so they would eat everything. We tried the dumplings, ribeye/mushroom and ribeye/scallion skewers, clams basil, grilled whole calamari, pad see eew, and the Bambu special (crab) fried rice. The dumplings were not my favorite but my family loved them. The ribeye was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Clams basil had great flavor and was a fun dish. The grilled calamari was a pleasant change from the fried version. It came with two dipping sauces. One sweet and one spicy. Both were very tasty. Pad See Eew was the best I've had in DFW. The tartness of the chinese broccoli really balanced well with the sweet but not too sweet sauce. The Bambu special fried rice, with lump crab meat in it, was awesome. I'd put it up there with Shinsei as the best fried rice I've had in town. BYOB is always a plus too. Definitely give this place a try and tell your friends about it. They are in a tough location and I would really like to see them to succeed. read more

Unfortunately my husband and I went tonight, Friday night at 6:35 and we were refused a table. At least 4 tables were empty and we were told 2 were for bigger parties and the other tables were reserved for 7 o'clock. We would have been in and out in 30 minutes. Great chicken pad thai! Had the edamame and it is solid as well. Nice little bar area with great wine selection. The staff are nice and accommodating - you can tell they care. This little place can get busy, but it's such a relaxing atmosphere at the same time. Overall, excellent experience! Great place to unwind after a long week. read more

We read the review in the Dallas Morning News. It stated no reservations but when we walked in the door to see 2 open tables, we were rejected because we didn't have a reservation. We then were told it would be 30 to 40 minutes. Then we were told it would be an hour to 1.5 hours. What a joke. The first impression of this place was horrible. read more

I have recently become a regular at Bambu and I'm writing to make the argument that you should become a regular too. I must divulge that I have dreams about their green curry with tofu. It is a perfect blend of sweet coconut milk and spicy flavors (though they will make it as spicy or mild as you like). I try something new every time I go, but it's hard to skip the green curry. I've tried their summer rolls, Thai beef jerky, fish cakes, boiled shrimp, seafood stir-fry (I had that last night and it was amazing!), garlic whole fish, and Thai spicy basil with chicken. Everything was delicious! Oh, and their mango sticky rice is some of the best in town. I always ask for extra coconut sauce because it is so delicious I have to lick it off the plate when I'm done....you may not think you will want to lick the plate...but you will. The Thai tea is also very good; it goes great with the more spicy dishes. The service is amazing; the restaurant is family run and everyone is so nice. When I ask, they give me suggestions about what to try and take my tastes and preferences into consideration. I like sitting at the bar because I can see the parade of dishes coming out of the kitchen. They have a few tables outside as well which are wonderful given the great temperatures we are enjoying this week. This restaurant is well worth a visit, or two, or twenty. read more

Dinner here was disappointing, 8 very small pieces of chicken in my Pad Thai, the beef in my husband's Garlic Beef was tough, they need to be more generous with the meat. A better restaurant choice for Thai food would be Asian Mint or Best Thai in Preston Royal, there is plenty of meat in their entrees. I would not go back to Bambu Thai and Asian, they skimp on the meat. read more

This place is a rip off... For $16 I got 2 bland spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken (like 1/2 cup of food that included 5 small pieces of chicken)... It was very spicy but lack any other flavor and I still was hungry because they gave me so little food. read more

Excellent Esan styled Thai dishes that are pretty hard to find in these parts. I recommend the Moo Yang (spicy grilled pieces of pork to wrap in sticky rice and dip in spicy sauce) and the Esan Chicken Noodle soup. read more

Moved to Dallas from Houston, and have been on the search for really delicious Thai food, particularly a place with amazing Pad Thai. This place really delivers! The best Thai I've had in Dallas by far. This place is truly a hidden gem. I also ordered their papaya salad-also delicious. I am eager to return to try out their other menu options. I've only dined here once and was on a pretty restricted diet but the staff kindly adapted the dish to meet my dietary restrictions. I had the pad Thai and while it was tasty it wasn't so incredible that I've craved to go back yet. My husband really enjoyed it and he does have cravings to go back and have it again. This place is fantastic. Attentive, personal service in a clean and bright, modern setting with excellent food. We had specials off the chalkboard menu: lobster red curry, green mango salad, and nam lettuce wraps, plus traditional pad Thai from the menu. All were delicious. Went at 3:30 for a late lunch on Saturday. The waiter recommended several dishes and appetizers. We split a pair of fresh summer rolls with amazing peanut sauce. I had the cashew chicken,"medium spicy" and it was outstanding! The cashews were roasted soft and the vegies and chicken had a great taste. Husband had crying tiger beef with sticky rice. His was Thai style hot with a great sauce, tender strips of beef served on lettuce leaves and the sticky rice in a cool bamboo container on the side. I really like this restaurant's food. However, the service ranges from very good to bad. I have received treatment that suggests that I am not valued as a customer (e.g. no preference of table even in a mostly empty restaurant). If you don't like something, too bad, you will be required to pay - so make sure you know what you are getting. After bad experiences I still have returned (months later) because, as I said, the food is very good but the service shows that customers are taken for granted. read more

Service was great, the place is clean and attractive, but my food was underwhelming. While some would delight in a salad that was predominantly meat, I was really in the mood for salad so this was a disappointment. I will return to try some noodle dishes and/or curries since salads aren't usually a Thai restaurant mainstay. This is a great Asian restaurant. Their fried rice and noodles are amazingly good and you will never be tired of it even though you eat everyday. But I didn't give them 5 points because they open during lunch time and close and reopen in the evening and they close on Sunday, either. Absolutely amazing. My husband and i have high standards and this is one of our favorites and a frequent go-to. Its so good Ive actually eaten there for lunch AND dinner on the same day. Their flavors are outstanding, ingredients fresh and spice levels spot-on. I love dishes super spicy; my co worker likes it mild.
