This review is for service only. Drinks were decent but they need to work on their service. Especially to the cashier girl who work on Saturday at 3 PM。i ordered a custom order of longans with coconut water and i clearly repeated my order twice saying WHITE longans. The order came up with yellow longans and the cashiers said in a very rude manner saying i repeated the order with yellow longans。she doesnt speak good english and maybe she heard what i said wrong. Bambu is perhaps one of the better boba options offered in sacramento, but compared to their other locations this is one my least favorite spot. Given that it's a family operated business, all their drinks/desserts should remain consistent, but it isn't. Their milk teas are bland on some days yet made to perfection on other days. I use to go here on a daily basis, but didn't feel it was worth the 20 minute drive. My top 3 picks would be the milk tea with small red beans & banh lot, # 1 dessert special, & # 22 dessert special. I'd have to take one start away due to lack of customer service bc often times the cashier can't hear my order & then throws me dirty looks even after i repeated myself 2-3 times. She even charged me an extra $0.75 for lotus seeds, like seriously?! read more

Ordered #1 Bambu Special, #2 Chè thp cm, and #5 B dm. Firstly, the lady was kinda unpleasant. She would respond after every order, "anything else?" without a smile, and in a pushy, i-don't-have-time-for-this attitude. We also were trying to order #2 Jasmine Milk Tea, but she assumed #2 meant from the dessert menu. The numbering system is confusing because each category restarted numbers from 1. About the drinks, #1 Bambu special didn't taste great. It tasted like too much coconut. You get that after taste of wanting to vomit. Oddly, after leaving it in the fridge for 12 hrs, the next day, it tasted sweeter. #5 tasted like guacamole with a hint of boba. It also looked like avocado dip too. I think i'll stick to the normal smoothies and milk teas from now on. 1-star: I've had hemorrhoids more pleasant than this. 2-star: I would rather avoid this place. 3-star: On par with other similar establishments. 4-star: Will return as often as possible. 5-star: I refuse to find a better place. read more

I try to give this place a couple more chances to see if they were just having a bad day or whatever there problem were.Every time i come in the staff are not that friendly and attentive.. Apparently they don't know how to deal with who came first or last in line.. You see them and they see you.. You politely wait until it's your turn and then someone comes up and order right in front of you. She went ahead and took his order and I spoke up and said that I was next.. Apparently the old 50+++ man dose not have any manner to ask if I was next even though I was in line before him. Asian men with no etiquette it so common these day.. No respect for women!!! She said sorry but she saw me before this guy show up... R you that blind!!! Anyhow I told her to go help him and I left.. ***UPDATED REVIEW*** Since my last review, their menu is huge now! New drinks have been added and they all taste delicious and refreshing. My favorite is still #10 dessert and for drinks I love how they've made the traditional Vietnamese coffee blended! Yum! A close drink favorite is the blended Chai! Prices have went up since my last review but still a pretty good deal for great quality. Only thing stopping me from 5 stars is customer service. If you care more about your appearance in a boba shop than the orders of your customers...please don't take orders. Please be a customer instead. Majority of the ladies here are super sweet, especially a miss named Thy. There are one or two ladies here whom whenever we come here we have a bad experience because they are rude and snappy and always rushing our orders. Please take your skimpy cheap clubbing clothes home and reevaluate your life. I totally love the drinks here! Whether it is a hot summer day or a cold winter day, I am always down for mango and lychee smoothies, as well as their #1 bambu special. They're so refreshing! I can't say I've ever been to a Vietnamese dessert place. Technically it's a drink slash boba slash dessert café. They have your typical teas and coffees and smoothies with or without boba if that's your style. Since I can get that most anywhere, I opted to try their dessert drinks aka che. It is mostly coconut milk with crushed ice and your choice of a combo of different things. I was looking for things I knew and the drink with the most things to get the most bang for your buck. I opted for number two which had red bean, white beam green bean, taro, pandan jelly, pearls/boba and combo jelly. Yeah it's a lot of stuff. It was an odd combination with so many different textures but I liked it. I would get it again - maybe try different things in it. I was pretty full from lunch too so I really only finished half of it. It was fine later in the day but I don't recommend finishing it the next day (the boba and jelly might get hard). So cheap too - my drink was only $3.25 for all that stuff. read more

I finally decide to walk into this place to get some Che (Vietnamese dessert). I don't usually eat che outside my parents house, but is good. They have other drinks too, my hubby order the vietnamese ice coffee and its delicious. Usually vietnamese coffee is good everywhere we go, how can you mess up on coffee. Its rich in flavor compare to starbuck coffee that's more water-down. I end up ordering #6 Che trai cay (mixed fruit dessert) b/c it have coconut and other fruit... and of course they added a lot coconut milk. The che was too sweet for me, but next time I would order a different type of drink. read more

The place is clean, inviting, and doesn't look like it was decorated by a 5-year old. I almost always order the mint milk green tea. The drink was a bit richer than other tea places. Maybe it's made with condensed milk or cream. It's not a complaint from me. The tea is a bit sweeter than I would like. read more

Standard Asian drink place. Only tried the Vietnamese style number 1 special which included young coconut, pandan jelly, basil seed, longan, and red tapioca. A little on the sweet side for my taste but refreshing. The decor and target demographic is young college age kids so there's this annoying Asian pop music that I can only stand for 10 mins. I am in love with Bambu! I agree with some of the other reviewers that there is probably cocaine in their desserts because I keep coming back for more. I live about 25 miles away from this place and I am willing to drive there just to get some dessert. I haven't tried any of the smoothies or drinks but my friends seem to enjoy their smoothies. The milk that Bambu uses for the dessert is delicious, it's not too sweet or too bland. The jelly tastes fresh and isn't hard like some places where the drinks are left in the fridge for too long and the jelly is kind of hard. The lady that works there is very helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend Bambu to anyone who has a sweet tooth or is just looking for something to snack on after dinner! read more

I am absolutely in love with this place. Everything is so fresh and yummy. It is a must try for everyone. Basically it is all Vietnamese desserts. The #1 Bambu special is my usual because it doesn't have the heavy coconut milk in it. I love coconut milk but it is very fattening. So I have to have it sparingly. The #5 Crush avocado is yummy too. The avocado smoothie was average, I've had better. But other then that, great atmosphere, friendly staff and very consistent in taste. read more

I went in for the BAMBU Special and it was YUMMY! For a $5 drink I was expecting the real stuff; so did I get it? Yes!! Real coconut juice/water (whatever you want to call it) and coconut meat...not that canned stuff you get from the Asian stores (not that I don't love it, but it's often too sweet)...with yummy chewy Pandan jelly, logan, and basil seed.
