Was there on a late Saturday evening in June returning from a festival in NY for the first time. Being famished upon ordering we were served quickly and courteously. Menu was exotic, drinks and food were tasty and generous. Returning from a trip to the bathroom I was met by the restaurant staff as we were leaving. I was asked if I had lost any money which I had verified I had next to my table. (A significant amount I had come to realize.) This was promptly returned to me which was a great relief, ALL of it. This restaurant, in a quiet enclave in Glenville (a part of Greenwich) is fantastic. The prices aren't cheap, but the sushi is fresh and the menu is vast. I went on a Saturday night and the restaurant (shaped like a q-tip with a narrow middle and two large rooms at each end) had about half of its table occupied. Patrons ranged from families with younger children to couples on dates. I ordered the summer roll to start. I was expecting a regular spring roll type appetizer; rice paper with julienned veggies etc. The menu mentioned that the summer roll had crab and tuna as well. I was surprised when the dish was served as the roll was cut up and seemed more like sushi than anything else. It was however, very tasty. I ordered the sashimi entree and at $25 I felt that even though it didn't come with soup or salad, the portion was huge and worth the price. There were 5 or 6 different types of fish in the large bowl. The bowl was filled with ice and the sashimi pieces were artfully arranged atop. The fish included: (to the best of my knowledge) tuna, salmon, hamachi, halibut (?) and mackerel. Every single piece just melted in my mouth. Hands-down, the most flavorful and enjoyable sushi i've eaten to date. I will most definitely return and once again plan to order the sashimi dinner. read more

Stopped here for lunch because it was close to a Tesla Supercharger on the Merritt Parkway. Hoped for a decent light lunch, but we were in for a pleasant surprise. The food was not just good, it was exceptional. My wife ordered Crab Rangoon, one of her favorites. It was the best she ever had. I tasted it too - exceptionally light and crispy with a more complicated and more delicious cheesy inside than I have ever had. Only problem now is, no other restaurant's Crab Rangoon will be as good as this one. We also ordered a coconut soup, a calamari salad, and some sushi. In each case, the food was very fresh, very flavorful, a bit different than similar menu items elsewhere, and much more flavorful. The lunch specials and the ordering process were a little confusing, but after some back and forth with the waiter and waitress we figured it out. The service was good, though not terribly fast, but considering everything was prepared fresh, not bad at all. Our stop was less than 60 minutes and we would definitely go back again. There was also covered easy parking and a view of a waterfall as the stream passed the old mill building in which the restaurant is located. I'd call this place a hidden gem on our route from Boston to to NJ. read more

Came here for my grandmothers birthday. The appetizers were good and they came fast. However, the entrees simply did not match up. The sushi was not fresh, the lo mein was flavorless, the orange chicken was not seasoned, and it was more batter than it was chicken. Our waiter was friendly but overall, the food was not up to par. Unfortunately the other reviews don't make sense after eating here. We will not be returning. read more

When you go there to eat, portions small but people are nice. For take out, my Chicken Pad Thai was inedible, burnt with no taste, wife's sushi did not have accompanying accoutrements. Done. read more

I love this place. It has a peaceful environment and contemporary decor. The service is outstanding. I always feel like they want me to enjoy my experience completely and they will do everything to make sure that happens. THE FOOD is DELICIOUS. I have dined here several times in the past, but last night I had the vegetable pad thai, which is the motive behind this review. It was hands down the best I've ever had. All of the ingredients were very fresh. The PB & J roll is my other favorite. Their outdoor seating is beautiful as well. It is not near a busy street like most outdoor seating in this area. For $30, Sushi and Sashimi was skimpy. Sushi rice is not done correctly and fish are not fresh. Edible but not pleased. Chicken Pad Thai was ok but not great. Nice place with good service, though. Wish food can be better. Won't go back. I can do much better in Manhattan with that price. read more

I have been coming here for the past three years, first on a Restaurant.com coupon, and now on my own volition. Considering that I come up from lower Westchester county, this should say something for my liking of this place. The food here ranges from very good to outstanding. I have had the Chef's special roll, as well as the spider roll, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, and crispy wasabi tuna roll. All of them are excellent, and nicely presented. The first time I was here, three years ago, the platings were done by a sushi chef that were just beautiful. I even took photos at that time. Now the presentations are a bit more standard, but still very nice. The prices are about right, especially since this is in Greenwich -- a bit on the high side, but not unreasonably so. The staff is pleasant and efficient, but not obtrusive. The interior is quite attractive, but the big attraction is to sit outside during good weather, so that you can enjoy the exterior of the old mill, as well as the dam and reservoir nearby. I think that I can safely say that -- personal taste aside -- those who have said poor things about the restaurant either were there on a VERY off-day, or really don't know what good sushi is. read more

I am the regular customer of bambou. I love this place and so do my friends. we came here couple days ago and we were told they were not able to make some certain kitchen food due to the fan problem in the kitchen . They showed us a sheet of paper which items they couldn't make right now . We were all a little bit upset , because we come for paitai , Singapore rice noodle ,chicken lettuce wrap and some other dishes .Those dishes are so yummy ! We order them everytime we come. So we ordered sushi and some of their special rolls instead. I am not really a big fan of sushi person, but their special rolls like house special roll, spider roll, pink panther, wasabi crazy tuna..Those rolls are really GOOD . I found my new favorite food here . My dining experience for this time was good except the begining, but the girl who hosts did explain well and apologized . I like the attitude of their workers . They always smile and greet . We definitely will come back and order our noodles and sushi rolls . read more
