would not recommend this place. The nurse who does the Botox and microneedling does not seem experienced with proper injection placement. During the appointment, she talked a lot and tried to distract The owner is very pushy and constantly tries to sell packages, even for treatments that don't seem effective. The environment feels desperate and sales driven. The sitting area is cluttered with random items that have nothing to do with a spa. It's also very loud during massages because you can hear a loud machine running. The owner talks the entire time during the massage, asking very personal questions like where you live, what you do, and how many kids you have she leaves the treatment room every five min and walks back in without washing her hands It feels more like an interrogation than a relaxing experience. Went in for a non surgical radio frequency for double chin, Im asssuming thats what its called. Was'nt given much information from the main esthetician, I definitely felt as though she just wanted to sell me more. She told me i would only need one treament, while the nurse said I would need a few. She gave me no info on what is used, such as oils,chemicals,ect. I was drawn to this spa due to their use of organic products. Amanda was my esthetician and she was simply lovely. She greeted me as I walked in and had me fill out a questionnaire since it was my first visit. I got the Refresher Facial. Amanda explained that the products were organic and were made in small batches weekly. She said it was "food for the skin." They smelled yummy. Almost good enough to eat. LOL. I ended up purchasing a few products upon recommendation because I want my skin to be in tip-top condition. They were able to tell me what was best for my pigmentation (African-American skin). I was lucky that Jenny, the spa owner, was available on the Saturday afternoon that I spontaneously wanted to visit a spa. I told her I was open to either a facial, massage or body treatment. Jenny was super friendly and helpful and suggested that I went with a massage where she can incorporate some facial massaging techniques and steaming so I can experience a bit of everything. I love it! I decided on the 90 min Exfoliating Body Massage ($110). The Exfoliating Body Massage at Bamboo Leaf combines your typical Swedish massage with a luxurious body lotion with natural glycolic acids and antioxidants so you will get the smooth relaxing strokes without the graininess of a typical salt or sugar exfoliating massage. I must say I liked it a lot more than my exfoliating experiences at other spas. So to start off Jenny welcomed me to a massage room where we started face up. This bed was so incredibly cozy and warm, I was relaxed just laying there before treatment started. She cleansed my face like a typical facial before progressing to the rest of my body for a nice medium deep pressure massage. Jenny was incredible. Then we rolled over for time on the back and she worked her magic on the knots on my neck and shoulder. She pointed out how tense I was and how it was a good thing I went with the massage. Afterwards I flipped back over and she worked on my face a bit more to apply a moisturizing mask with steam and aftercare serums for my hormonal break out. I had an incredible time at Bamboo Leaf and I would definitely come back to see Jenny. With her background in MicroBiology I really trust her products. She has a really thorough understanding of the ingredients she uses and how to help you improve your skin. I had already spent a lot for the day so I held off on spending any more, but Jenny was so kind to give me samples to help me combat the one sad pimple I had bothering me. There was a clear skin probiotic masque for acne prone skins and 2 of the bright skin licorice root booster serum for dark spots and hyperpigmentation. I am so happy I found an organic wellness spa right here in Upland. I lived in Northern California for 15 years where everything was locally sourced and organic. Natural beauty, just as important! Having lived here now for 5 years I had been driving to beach communities for these kinds of services and products. When I met Jenny who is a microbiologist, during my final's week of my master's program, I vowed to let everyone know of this local gem. She carries Eminence products which are so pure you can even eat it because it's literally all an all-organic product. As a mother of 3, almost 40 years old, I am now trying services that can directly make an impact without running to a surgeon. I have never believed in injectables because I have seen the mal effects over time, it's a short fix with a lifetime of appointments. Learning recently that she acquired icoone (Found mostly at the most luxurious of places), a machine that stimulates and brings circulation at a cellular level, I decided to book an appointment. This machine has interchangeable attachments with miniature suction cups and laser to penetrate deep within the dermis layer. I loved every minute of it! Found them via Groupon and bought a 60 mins facial. I'm late to the Groupon game but I've yet to have a bad experience. It's a very clean and organized shop and they were very welcoming. Desirae did my facial and she was so nice, did not make me feel awkward or uncomfortable at all which can happen with facials if you get a bad esthetician.
