I have never, ever written a review for anything online, ever, but I just could not resist. Isaac was the BEST wedding DJ I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. We were married 10/22/11 and I chose Bamboo Beats because I felt that they were really in sync with the type of music I wanted to play at my wedding and I wanted a DJ, not just a human IPOD manager. Isaac and Jojo delivered and surpassed my expectations. My friends and family have not stopped raving about the music, truly there have been more comments about the DJ than anything else ( including how stunning I was ; ), j/k). Isaac is a true DJ, not just a songlist player/ MC. He responded quickly and accurately to the crowd and the vibe and the playlist was PERFECTION. I asked for a mix of current hits but wanted a focus on early 90's dance and hiphop with a little blend of motown It was so good!!! I watched people repeatedly start to leave the dance floor as a song was fading out and immediately running back because the next song was even better! They did the audio and music for the ceremony as well which was flawless. I would actually give Bamboo Beats 4.5 stars. They DJ'd my wedding this summer at The Edgewater and they did a great job. Working with Jojo and Isaac was really great--we had two meetings and they took really great notes as we talked and it was obvious they are really passionate about what they do and work very hard to make sure they are giving each client exactly the feel they are looking for. They blew everyone out of the water in terms of their professionalism and organization as I was meeting with different DJs around the city. The only reason I am giving them a 4.5 instead of a 5 is because I had wanted a more 'cross-generational' feel for the first half of the dancing than I actually got. It was hard for my grandparents to dance because most of the cross-generational stuff they played came from the 80s and a little bit of the 70s, and only a few songs from earlier than that, which I loved, but made it difficult for some of the older people. Based on how great they listened and worked hard to provide exactly what I was looking for, this difference in understanding probably resulted more from a lack of clarity on my part than anything else. Bamboo Beats was awesome! We got married in August and they did our wedding. They were recommended to us and we were extremely happy. Isaac (DJ Tecumseh) & Jojo were great to work with. They did a great job working with us to understand what feel we were looking for and making sure to tailor the music to our crowd. He did a great job of reading the dance floor and playing the music to keep people up and dancing all night. They also played the music for our wedding itself and during dinner and it was perfect. We added a challenge by asking our guests to provide a song that would get them up dancing (on the RSVP card). We gave the list of responses to Isaac and Jojo and asked them to work them in wherever possible and they did a great job of doing that too. We also did the video screens add-on and aside from adding another cool element during the dancing, they worked with us to create a video of pictures that played during dinner so that was fun. We also liked the fact they had the "green" element of driving a hybrid and purchasing carbon credits. It wasn't necessarily the reason we picked them but we appreciated it. My wife and I were looking for someone who could create the setting, mood and vibe that we desired for our wedding this past March and were considering everyone from live bands to solo artists, but when we got on the phone with Bamboo, we knew we found our perfect match. It was lit! It was clear right away that they could cater to any audience, but when we explained the crowd that would be in attendance and threw out some of our favorite songs, Bamboo instantly started making recommendations that we fell in love with. From there, they outlined their different packages and offerings and were accommodating on what we were looking for specifically. They have some amazing packages with projections and lighting that turn a curated DJ set into a full event experience. First off - Jojo communicates so efficiently any bride would be put at ease! DJ Cues and Rubbie were awesome! We did a lot of things ourself for our wedding but didn't want to take a chance with music. We got the package for the ceremony and reception. We had a lot of last minute changes to manage but needless to say, the energy changed once the music started. They kept everyone calm with great music and very positive attitudes :0) DJ Cues and Rubbie brought all of their experience with them, paid attention to fine details, and offered help when needed. Rubbie actually decorated our impromptu metal arch with flowers! I felt like I'd known them for years, yet they were extremely professional. My side of the family is from South FL, Chicago, and Atlanta. My husband's side is from CA and WA. Everyone was impressed, happy, and groovin right along. The mood and music went hand in hand. Bamboo Beats recently DJ'd our wedding reception. From the get-go we were impressed with Jojo and Isaac's professionalism, organization and energy. They set up a meeting to get to know us and the vibe we hoped to create, which also gave us a chance to get to know them a little bit better. In the weeks leading up to the reception, Jojo was very responsive to questions, and planned a meeting to go over details and any questions that we had. At our reception, they did a great job during cocktail hour and dinner of playing music to create an upbeat vibe. Jojo worked well with the other vendors to move through the announcement, toasts, special dances, cake cutting, etc. It was really important to us to have a great dance party - and they delivered! for an awesome 3.5 hour dance party. They were responsive to requests and keeping guests engaged and having a great time. We were also very glad to have added up-lighting to our DJ package. We cannot say enough good things about Isaac (DJ Tecumseh) and Jojo! Their ability to read the crowd and anticipate their mood/dancing needs is almost supernatural! The dancing never stopped and they even played 2 encore songs after the wedding was supposed to be over because our guests were having such a good time they just could't leave the dance floor yet. They were so thoughtful in taking guest requests but checking in with us if they thought we might have a problem with a song. They helped us orchestrate a confetti pop on the last song, which went off flawlessly. On top of it all, they did a quick edit just 2 weeks out of the music for the father-daughter dance. Of all our vendors, there were only 2 who gave us zero problems and made everything just so easy, and Bamboo Beats was one of them! Their timing and choice of music from the ceremony to the cocktail hour right through the reception was spot on. We got so many comments on how awesome the DJ was and we couldn't agree more!! read more

Overall Bamboo Beats did a great job. DJ Surreal was incredibly professional and kept the party going all night. The guests had a great time. I never danced so much in my life. I loved working with JoJo. She responds to emails right away and is very professional and a true pleasure to work with. My only small "complaint" is that there were songs on our must play list that never got played. Not sure what the purpose of a must play list is then? Additionally 2 of the songs on the "do not play list" were played. I was under the impression that if a song wasn't available we would be told and could provide it to the DJ but I'm not sure that was the case. If you work with Bamboo Beats and there are songs that you really want to hear and some you don't, just make that extra clear. Incidentally we had some odd requests like the Chicago Bears theme song that DID get played. Some of the more common ones didn't. Overall it was a really great experience and I do recommend them. read more

Securing Bamboo Beats for my wedding was the best decision I made to guarantee a successful wedding day. I selected Bamboo Beats for my wedding because they have a great reputation for getting the party started and reading the crowd. I also like that they are not a "push a button on a laptop" DJ - they use turntables to mix songs together seamlessly - basically the real deal. From the start they were easy to work. I appreciate that they take the time to thoroughly understand your vision for your wedding day and your audience. I had some particular music cues I needed them to hit, and they executed them better than I had pictured in my head. Honestly, I don't think of myself of a huge dancer without some liquid courage...but two seconds into the reception I couldn't hold back. And neither could my guests - young and old. Issac and Jojo rocked my wedding. My husband is Caucasian American and I am Indian and we had a very multicultural guest list. These guys from the beginning showed interest in knowing our preferences, impressed me with their extensive collection of Bollywood and bhangra music which I was not sure an american DJ would know much about. But Isaac and Jojo do it like no one else. They understand Seattle's diversity and know their music from all across the world. Leading up to the event. Jojo was always in touch to know about what we would like to see play, give recommendations. She also helped the last week to edit our first dance music which by the way I sent really last minute! From the very beginning Bamboo Beats was awesome to work with. They sit down with you and really try to understand the audience, what type of vibe you're looking for and how to best customize the music experience for your entire wedding. DJ Cues even held a follow up call with us a week ahead of the wedding to go over final details! We had a lot of requests for hip hop and more modern songs from a lot of our friends, but considering the majority of our wedding guests were family our parents age, their music tastes differed from our friends requests. Bamboo Beats has an amazing reputation around Seattle as being the best wedding DJ in town, but what set them apart from our perspective was how perfectly they executed all of the very particular requests we had. My wife and I are huge music fans and we had a very specific vision for our ceremony, dinner, and dancing portions, and Bamboo Beats did it all flawlessly. From cueing in music to a specific moment for the bridal entrance, to mashing together a Drake medley for our dance party, it was all perfect. They were extremely easy to work with on all our requests and always found a way to make our asks come to life. Very unprofessional, arrogant, rude, and completely full of themselves. Had a overly long consultation with them where they spent a majority of the time talking to me about how awesome they are and not really giving simple answers to basic questions. We would see Isaac snicker every time we said something, which was very unprofessional. Also, he made us feel uncomfortable by asking questions about why we like them even before actually seeing their work, in addition to constantly prodding us for who else we have been considering and how horrible they are. Be prepared to stroke their ego if you really want to meet with them. And be wary of fake postive reviews from them and they have managed to hide ALL of their negative reviews!!! read more

Jojo and DJ Tecumseh aka Isaac were great to deal with from when we first met them at the wedding show in seattle to the private party event they held and hearing our friends rave about them, we knew we had made the right decision to create a partnership. Bamboo Beats Dj'd our wedding at the end of April and they were fantastic. We are so lucky to have found JoJo and Isaac. They are such a great pair and do such a great job. They are both very personable and willing to do anything that makes your special day the best it can be. The uprights were awesome.. All the music and the videos were awesome. My husband asked Isaac to play the Monday night NFL song when he did the garter toss, at the last minute and Isaac was able to do it.
