We had an awesome experience with Edythe as our reception bartender. She was on time, professional and efficient. I barely had a chance to interact with her as a busy bride during the event but everyone commented to me that she was awesome and having a good time (we had an unconventional karaoke reception so we gave her a proper show!). We had my son's wedding in our backyard with 30 guests. It included Ceremony, Cocktail hour with Hors D'oeuvres, followed by a full sit down dinner, then dessert and wedding cake. Erick and Harrison worked as a team from set up to clean up. Serving the Hors D'oeuvres downstairs in the yard while setting up dinner and serving the dinner upstairs, then back downstairs for cake and reception. When the party was done. Everything was cleaned up, dinner plates, glass (rental) re-boxed and ready for rental company to pick up. Kitchen spotless. Dining room back to original as well as deck where the dinner was held. They truly truly worked hard on keeping the party going on schedule and letting me (host) enjoy the party and not worry about anything. They didn't stop once. Would use Party on the Rocks again in a heart beat! Loved Erick and Harrison, they deserve a big "THANK YOU" for all their support!! Could not have done it without them. :) read more

Party on the Rocks is great! My wife and I hired them for our wedding of about 70 people at Golden Gardens Bathhouse. We were providing the drinks and decor (and some of the food), but we needed a bartender and wait staff. About a week before the event, they reached out to us and made sure that every detail was covered, as well as give us their individual contact info in case we needed to reach them immediately. They also worked extremely well with our wedding planner, and were very flexible when we had to shift around times and include their help in setting up the venue. Brooke (our bartender) was great about putting our drinks aside before the wedding so that other people wouldn't drink all of our favorite beverages before we got to them, and Valerie (Lead Event Staff) and AJ (Event Staff) - in addition to helping set up the venue - also attended two chafing dishes, bussed all empty cans/bottles/cups/plates, and cut the cake. I don't think I ever saw them not in motion. Everyone was friendly, professional, and efficient. Highly recommended! read more

Wow wow wow. This review is mostly for Claire the events coordinator for Party on the Rocks (but I'm sure the rest of the staff is fabulous). I had a minor wedding emergency with an unresponsive bartender 4 days before my wedding (not from here). I contacted Claire and she immediately flew into action coordinating us full bar services in an incredibly short time frame. She was empathetic, kind, communicative, and overall such a wonderful person to interact with. I wish I found them long ago before booking my vendors. Event staffing was okay - the staff was working hard but didn't seem to have reviewed the detailed instructions provided beforehand and not enough staffers were provided for the tasks necessary. I am so grateful I found Party on the Rocks. They were the only traveling bar I could find that brought the alcohol with them. We had about 100 people at my 40th class reunion. Steven and April showed up on time, prepared, and professional. Everyone thought the service was and the drinks were good. We offered soda, beer, wine, hard seltzers, and hard liquor. Prior to the event the communication was superior, both on the phone and through email. The pricing was clearly set out and there were no problems. Would highly recommend Party on the Rocks for staffing your next event. We had a birthday gathering with 60 people at our home. By the time I was ready to go outside and great our guests, all the drinks had been set up and they were ready to start pouring. In addition, they made sure that the areas stayed clear of dirty plates and party items throughout the duration of the event. Finally, when it came to clean up, we hardly had anything to worry about! They made sure everything was in the correct garbage cans, that the leftover items were put away and also that leftover drinks were stacked nicely for us to manage later. Would recommend for just beer and wine service - caution to anyone who is seeking quality craft cocktails for an event. At first when connecting with Claire over the phone, we were really excited to hire POTR for our wedding. Claire recommended we secure the highest tier of bartenders they provide as we had three different spirits and these bartenders would be equipped to make excellent craft cocktails. As we got closer to our big day, it become harder to get a response from Claire via email (great at answering the phone, but lacked providing timely responses in writing). We had lots of questions about rentals, pricing, etc. as they were unclear in the pricing documents provided. As email communication continued, Claire suggested we meet the day before the wedding to do a run through - I responded immediately and was thrilled to meet in person. 10 days went by with no response (6 days away from the wedding) so we reached out again to confirm the walkthrough...we didn't hear from Claire until the following day (11 days later in total) letting us know she was not going to make it and asked to meet that week (4 days before our wedding). As you can imagine we were unavailable to meet with such short notice and other wedding commitments. We were assured the week of the wedding our specialty cocktail menus would be provided to bartenders and would be prompted on how to make the signature drinks with the correct garnishes and glasses. It became clear they were not given the specialty cocktail menus, had no idea how to make the specialty drinks (we had been so excited to offer guests) and what glasses to put them in. This resulted in us over-purchasing mixers, garnishes, specialty napkins, that were not used because guests were unaware of all options. A few things to note... - Unable to support our champagne toast (claimed we were out of champagne flutes when we ordered more than double). Randomly witnessed one of the kids drinking fruit punch out of a champagne glass? - The groom, went up to the bar to order a whisky/coke (The Groom's signature drink) and the bartender had the pouring spout upside down and had to have another bartender come over to explain the spout needed to be turned the other way. - As the bride, the most disappointing moment for me was going up to the bar to order a French 75 and watching the bartender pour fake lemon juice into the champagne flute, when we had paid $200 for FRESH squeezed juices to be used. I was disappointed to see that the bartender brought their own mixers in when we were told extensively no mixers/garnishes would be provided by POTR. We later came to find out through guest feedback, drinks were incorrectly made, some of the wine selection we provided was unavailable and bartenders did not have the necessary tools (as promised). Lesson learned - find vendors who prioritize meeting in person to understand your vision and are available to do a walkthrough of your venue to ensure a smooth event. After all was said and done, we had a debrief with the company expressing our disappointment and they tried to justify the gaps in service instead of owning up to the lack of preparation and communication. After some back and forth, we were given a small credit as a 'make good', but in the end, was not worth the price, stress and hassle. Definitely over sold what they could provide in terms of service, quality of cocktails and professionalism. I hope this helps other couples ask the right questions and observe the small details with vendors especially when paying a premium for their services! read more

Threw a holiday party and Dawn from Party on the Rocks was AH-Mazing! I didn't have to worry about a thing during the party and just enjoy my guests. She refilled drinks and food, bussed, took out trash and even answered the door if I couldn't get there. Best part is I woke up the next day to a tidy house, not a nightmare! Worst business ever!! They would not give the $400.00 deposit back to 2 Military members who are getting married and had to cancel the venue (where the bartenders were needed) due to State and Government Covid-19 restrictions. The bride and groom have had such sadness having to cancel the venue, etc and are still getting married as they are both transferring and can't reschedule. It is beyond their control. Did they only want 10 people at their wedding?..of course not. The other vendors have courteously refunded their deposits, just by being honest and good people and feel sorry for the bride and groom and their situation. Party on the Rocks should be ashamed of themselves. read more

In an attempt to not break our wedding budget, we decided to provide our own alcohol for our August wedding, but our venue required a bartending company to serve. I am SO glad I found Party on the Rocks, who provided a bartender (Claire) and event staff person (Jan) that ensured our beverage service ran super smoothly! Claire worked with me on all the coordination details, from renting glassware for us to estimating how much ice we would need, etc. I would have been lost without her, since all of the details that went into beverage service were new to me! We exchanged a ton of emails, and Claire was super prompt in replying and was very clear in her communication. I appreciated it so much. She had great suggestions and was able to offer guidance based on other events she had worked. She also used the online platform HoneyBook, where it was easy to keep track of our deposit/payments and to sign the contract online. A few weeks before the wedding, we added an event staff person to help with miscellaneous food-related tasks (keeping beverage dispensers filled, cake cutting, etc) as our caterer was not full service. My mom shared how impressed she was that Jan went above and beyond and cleared tables, was very professional, and did it all with a smile. She was working hard from set up through clean up and stayed upbeat the whole time! I cannot recommend Claire and Party on the Rocks more highly. These guys were my saving grace! I was the sole planner for a company photo shoot with 200 people to organize. I showed up to the venue and started about my business, of course with a time crunch. As soon as Party on the Rocks showed up, they took control of the bar situation from start to finish, I literally did not have to worry about them in the slightest! I cannot tell you how helpful and amazing it is to have someone take on their responsibility and not need any sort of management to get things done. I was comfortably able to release all control of the bar and focus on getting a photographer in place, all decor where it needed to be and herd 200 people into one spot for a photograph. Since the beginning, Claire and her team were so amazing to work with. My partner and I decided we wanted to have bartenders staff our wedding a few months prior to our date and we're so glad we found PotR. What we needed from PotR evolved so many times - the staff, the drinks, the logistics, everything - and Claire was so accommodating, flexible and easy to work with (we talked on the phone *several* times leading up to our wedding). We ended up with 2 bartenders (1 full time and 1 half time) as well as staff members to help with dinner set up, bus tables and refill water pitchers and buffet dishes. I'm really sad to write this poor review. The owners were really great when we first talked to them and we were super excited to have their company bartend our wedding. I don't like posting negative reviews until we call and talk about it with the company or business first, but my mom called (she was the one who paid for it), discussed it with the owner, and the owner was entirely un-sympathetic. Neither of the owners showed up to the wedding, which was ok - because we trusted their choice in staff. But unfortunately, their was a loss in translation with our requests. We purchased beer and wine, and hard alcohol for our signature cocktails. We specifically asked that there would be NO shots poured - because we didn't want to be liable for anyone's poor behavior. As the bride, I was full of joy the entire day, and didn't care too much that shots were being poured even though we asked that there wouldn't be. Throughout the night we saw people get way too intoxicated. They should have been cut off - but they weren't. People were walking around with cocktail cups FULL of Crown, which was VERY irresponsible for a bartender to pour. Some of our guests had known alcohol problems, and I remember seeing them blacked out, eyes glazed over and stumbling around. You could say that this was their own personal fault, but people with problems shouldn't be enabled. Yes, the bartenders never know who has problems or not, but nonetheless, CUPS FULL OF CROWN should never be poured in the first place - problems or not. After the wedding, one guest fell down their stairs and had to go to the hospital, and another had the cops called on them for domestic violence. I'm extremely embarrassed that this happened at my wedding. We did not want anything like this to happen. read more

Communication was an issue with using Party on the Rocks for our wedding earlier this month. I spoke on the phone a few times with Claire and emailed with Alec but most of the time seemed to be left with more questions than answers. The amount of alcohol we bought, who provided what, what we needed to rent or buy or bring was probably the most stressful wedding decision we had. We never received a quote for dispensers and on Thursday before our Saturday wedding double checked and discovered that we had to provide all the drink dispensers which had us running all around town trying to find large dispensers (fun fact, most stores only carry these in summer). We chose one prebatched signature cocktail out of ease for the bartender and less mixers/alcohol we had to purchase and I was super bummed when the bartender put the half-full dispenser under the table and wouldn't finish pouring what he already made. It makes sense to me that the bartenders would pour the pre-made batch of cocktail until it was empty but apparently the one hour of cocktail service I paid for was a hard stop. I was disappointed to see this wasted at the end of the night. An additional mishap was that we had 4 different kegs and they were put at the wrong bar during setup. I would have appreciated it if the bartenders could have taken the initiative to correct the kegs they should have served at each bar but instead they had to explain to each guest that they didn't have that beer and it was at the other bar. This also made my printed menus incorrect. Note - most of my interactions were with one bartender, family and guests said they LOVED the other one, bummed I missed him! Hopefully, brides and grooms have more bartending knowledge than me and this review helps them ask all the tiny detail questions that I missed. read more

Part on the Rocks did the event staffing and bar tending at our wedding. They were easy to work with leading up to the event and great at the event. The staff made sure that everything was set up and beautiful and did a great job getting dinner served to everyone quickly. At the bar they were equally awesome, we ran out of cups at the end of the night and they had some spares they quickly pulled out to keep things going smoothly. We hired two staff members, Jan and Jessica, for our 80 person event. They arrived on time, professionally dressed, and ready to jump in where needed. They replenished and cleared food, refrigerated leftovers, washed all of my dishes, rinsed and racked the rented flatware and wine glasses, and kept cleaning throughout.
