Food is always exceptional and plentiful! Definitely worth the price, which is acceptable, they don't overcharge like some. Each time we have ordered, we get what we want and the staff are always happy and extremely polite! We haven't dined in the location, live very close by, but it seems to always be full. read more

This is delicious barbecue. The ribs were so tender and the small sandwich was NOT small. Friendly people See you next year when we come through from Fort Worth. read more

Clean area, friendly workers, food was good. They have several different menu items to choose from.

We were getting hungry when we saw smoke billowing from a smoker in a parking lot on the side of the road. That smoke is what drew us in to Bama Boys BBQ. We decided to split a brisket plate and three sides. The shredded brisket was very tender and really good, the accompanying sauce, sweet but not too. Unfortunately, the sides were hit and miss. The mayo/vinegar slaw was good but the beans and mac and cheese were disappointing. The beans were just meh - Bush's beans from the grocery store have more flavor. I love the melty cheesiness of real mac and cheese and this just wasn't. The mushy noodles didn't help. The plate was rounded out by a hamburger bun - once again, nothing special. We split the $17 plate and had more than enough to eat. Though I really didn't want to, we passed on the banana pudding. Oh, BTW, the smoker that drew us in - it was just for show - it was just making smoke, not BBQ. read more

Bama Boys BBQ - Brisket - Barbeque Near Me - Henagar, Alabama

Nice friendly service, but the food was somewhat disappointing. The BBQ was a little dry (small portion in tin foil). The cole slaw was ok, but needed more acid (vinegar). The potato salad was very good. I am pretty sure the baked beans came from straight from a can, which is ok, if you smoke them and add brisket. The BBQ sauce is Cattleman's from a bottle. Thumbs up for military discount, but the discount for law enforcement needs to be more. read more

Unbelievable food for a hole in the wall place everything was perfect. Service was awesome hopefully when I'm down here I'll be back

The bbq sandwich was delicious. I got the small size with potato salad instead of chips. Perfect choice. Place was very clean and staff was super friendly! Only downside was the bathroom toilet didn't flush. Took two try's! read more

They are at the main crossroads in a very small town. This was my first visit and was at lunchtime. I had the BBQ pork plate with 3 sides. The pork was moist and smokey. I tried both their sauces, the hot and the sweet, and both were flavorful and could stand firm on their own. Had the sides of potato salad, baked beans, and coleslaw and every side was solid! They do have a drive thru and offer inside dining (picnic tables) or carry out. The place isn't much to look at but it was clean, staff was friendly, and you'll be in for an awesome BBQ meal. BTW, they do also offer burgers and hot dogs with lots of topping options. read more

Simple food. Their spicy sauce is the thing (it's not that spicy) and sweet sauce is not something any real bbq lover should ever use. My only comment is that I wish they had sliced brisket and not just chopped. But everyone enjoyed it. They were short staffed the day we went and the service was still good. You could tell that this place is a labor of love for the owner. Nothing fancy, but a decent meal all around. read more

Pulled pork was the only BBQ they offered. Ended up ordering fried chicken wings was ok. I'd consider going back if more menu selection was available. read more

The service was great. The BBQ pork sandwich with slaw was okay. Nothing special, just okay. No doubt the best BBQ option in Henegar. It's next to a McDonald's. I would choose Bama Boys over McDonald's every time. Several drive-thru order were for BBQ potatoes. Maybe that is a better option. read more

My husband and I were driving thru this small town. I saw pretty good reviews on yelp. And loved the name "Bama Boys". We are from the Memphis TN area and love some good BBQ. Trying out different BBQ is something we enjoy. Yes, there is not great BBQ out there folks, even in Memphis. But, BAMA BOYS nailed it!!! We had BBQ w hot sauce. It was DELICIOUS!! Super moist, chopped and tender. Their Hot Sauce was excellent. (Had choices of sweet, mild, hot). I also had their potato salad. Excellent, traditional southern potato salad. And again, excellent were the turnip greens. I'm sad we didn't try the ribs, but we were on a day trip and in a little hurry to get back to TN. Soooo, definitely stop & eat here!!!! And of course the staff was as friendly as the south comes. Thanks y'all!!! read more

Oh my gosh, this is it. From MS and love BBQ. I do my own and they got me. Can I say" Potatoes"...yes I will

Owner yelling at staff was very unprofessional. Got 3 sandwiches, a miniature bag of potato chips and a 16 oz soda for $23. We waited for to go food, and started eating immediately in our car. The meat was room temperature at best. Far below a safe temperature of 140f. The sauce tasted like it was out of a retail bottle. The buns were very weak and sogging as if the meat came out of a holding bin. Just not worth the money we paid. Not worth a second visit. read more

One of the few places to eat in Henagar. They have dine-in and a convenient drive thru for the go. The BBQ is very good and juicy. Generous portions, especially the BBQ potato. Sadly, we asked for extra sauce on the side and only received the small amount of sauce (see photo) and none at all on the BBQ. We essentially had to eat it dry :( The mac and cheese really lacked flavor as well. Overall, a disappointing experience. read more

I love their loaded potatoes with BBQ. They are big enough and delicious enough to have for two meals and the price is good also. Their staff is super friendly. I usually just go in and pick my food up or go through the drive through but the inside was very clean and the people seemed to be enjoying their food and the company. I love Bama Boys! read more

Great food, clean restaurant, nice staff, could use some music for ambience. We loved the brisket and ribs!

If you take the back roads from Huntsville to Atlanta, you know that there isn't much along the way other than fast junk food - Bama Boys is an exception. Stopped in here and was pleasantly surprised by the food! I had the BBQ baked potato and it was big enough to feed me for two days. The BBQ pork was nicely done with a decent smoke ring and the sauce was above average. I will definitely be stopping in here again when I drive by. read more

Good food and nice staff. Cubicle and friendly. I like the fact the have the sauces on the side letting the customers decide what and how much sauce they want read more

Excellent food, friendly service, good prices. The brisket was perfectly cooked, as were the greens. The Hot sauce had just enough kick to wake you up without being nasty. Definitely worth the drive. read more

Ate here last night on my way through to Atlanta. Food was mediocre, the smoke on the ribs was great but the seasoning was lacking a bit. The sides were okay, the mac and cheese was surprisingly decent. They kept running out of sweat tea but were nice about refilling it. The place was really clean as well as the bathroom. All in all I would come back if I came through again but wouldn't really go out of my way. read more

Over 20 bucks for a pint of slaw and 2 cups of sauce. Spent 25 min waiting and staff was rude.

Great brisket, bbq potatoes and ribs. Clean. Fast and friendly! Service with a smile and southern charm! Worth the drive and the stop! Good prices with plenty of value! read more

My family loves the food from Bama Boys, especially the loaded taters. If we order from there that is what my daughters always order. Then they have left overs for the next day. I usually get the big sandwich or one of their great plate options, Love those baked beans! One really good option that they offer is online ordering on their website. Order online, pay online and pickup the food when it's done! Only thing better is if it was delivered. read more

Passing through from Atlanta driving to Huntsville and found this little gem. We are pretty much barbecue snobs and usually pretty critical about folks barbecue. This place was great the pork was pulled right, very tender, very moist, good smoke. I was very impressed. The sides were pretty good - not great - but definitely pretty good. It's nice to get some authentic bbq and SURE beats fast food! read more

So this is a restaurant now, not a food truck any more. I had their specialty, the loaded Baked Potato with Pulled Pork and Apple Pie. Gotta tell you guys, this was REALLY good. If you are taking the back roads from Huntsville to Atlanta which I did today, this was just what the Doctor ordered. Friendly and excellent BBQ, best pulled pork I've had in years. So the drive is beautiful and this little gem should be your pitstop on the way. There's a Golden Arches next to it but honestly, I don't know how it would stay in business with food this good right next door. 3 of us ate for less than $40. Great deal! (to update a previous reviewer, they do have the drink station for sodas and ice T along with plentiful seating) read more

Bama Boys BBQ - Pit stop at Bama Boys BBQ, we're the only two guys in business suits. Kick ass BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - Henagar, Alabama

I got to the place 10 minutes before they closed and they were still super accommodating and welcoming. I ordered the BBQ Baked potato which is fabulous and HUGE ! It's also loaded to the max with butter, sour cream, cheese sauce, or shreds, pulled pork bbq that's fabulous , made fresh daily on site btw, and your choice of bbq sauces to go on top. The spud itself is probably a 1 pound baker gone crazy on steroids! It was a super meal and a half for under 10$ drink included. That's cheap enough for half of the food I received here! Great job guys! A+! BBQ Pork is great and never dry. read more

We stopped here on the way to Decatur, Alabama from Charleston,SC. We came in before it opened (whoops !didn't realize the time changed already) and the owner welcomed us with a huge smile and told us to come on in. Be served us anyway. The food was sooo amazing! The best bar- b-q I've ever had. It was very clean too! I don't think you'd be disappointed. read more

Best loaded chicken potato around! Their BBQ and ribs are also delicious. My girls like their nachos and hot dogs.

Excellent pulled pork sandwiches! The Brisket is Delicious! Good sweet tea! Nice clean and very friendly staff!

I'm sure there are better BBQ places close by. Try them. If you are hungry this BBQ will work but nothing special.
