a crab cake sandwich in a plastic container

I spotted this truck recently and tried it out. I would purchase the sandwich again maybe but not the soup. My sandwich doesn't look at good as the other reviews. Mine looks pre made compared to the others? Idk. But the soup, It has a very odd taste. It didn't taste fresh either . It almost tastes like the plastic container it came in. It's hard to explain but it was a hard no for me. I couldn't stomach a second spoonful. I was disappointed.

Tried the crab cake sandwich. Service was super fast! It was a good sized portion and tasted fresh. I think a bit more acid (squeeze of lemon?) and a variety of textures (toasting the bun) would make this a five star sandwich experience.

So the first thing my wife said was why do the only have 3 things on the menu... When we were done eating all she could say was "yea umm, they don't need any more than 3 things on the menu" lol. Their food was AMAZING! The best crabcake I've ever had was from a friend here in Charlotte that's originally from Baltimore so it's only fitting that the one that's next in line (a veeeeeeeeeeery close 2nd I might add) is from the Baltimore Crab Cake Company! . I love a great food truck & what's awesome is that someone from my neighborhood invited them to come and serve us for dinner one evening so all I had to do try then was go to our neighborhood clubhouse. As I mentioned above there are only 3 items on the menu (well 4 but more on that later). You have your choice of a crab cake sandwich, crab soup or a crab cake soaked in crab soup. My wife and I both got the crab cake sandwich and we split a large soup. Before we finished order and we are noticed that they also offered coleslaw but the kicker was that it came with a money-back guarantee! It was only a dollar but we love coleslaw so we knew we had to try it. Listen! EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS. They can charge $5 for that damn coleslaw lol. Well maybe not that much given the small serving size but I can promise you not nobody is asking for their money back. The crab cake was huge with all meat and no filling and served on a soft & scrumptious potato bun. It was great all by itself but the roumalade took it to another level. As for the soup, not only am I a soup snob, I'm a crab soup snob and it blew me away. Had a bit of a kivmck that I believe was cayenne but even if it was wasn't I added some when I got home and man talk about great! Last but not least they ship their crab cakes anywhere in the US or you can order in bulk and just meet the truck somewhere. No minimum order required! I took their card so I'll definitely be ordering for myself or someone else. Sounds like a great Christmas gift to me!

Pretty tasty crab cake. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and added a side of cole slaw. Everything was good. The crab cake was flavorful but I think I would've liked a touch more seasoning. The flavor that was there was good but I like things kicked up a notch. The cole slaw was good. I really liked it. It was fresh and the combination of cabbage and spices was good. I think I tasted small bites of apple in it and that was a great surprise. I'd definitely swing by here again for a second sandwich.

I really enjoy crab cakes and take every opportunity to try them. This was actually the second time that we ran across this food truck. They are from Baltimore and know how to do it. Both times we had the crab cake sandwich and it was good. Not a lot of filler in these. Portions are good size and the price is very reasonable. If you find this food truck, don't hesitate to take the plunge.

Good sandwich, however I would loved to have had some texture. Rather an onion or pickle or something that would have giving me more flavor. I enjoyed the luml crap cake soup alot, it was full of flavor and seasoned well. A hint of sage and rosemary woke up my taste buds. I would love to visit the location as this was a food truck visit.

This truck is fairly new in Charlotte but will definitely make its way. The owner Michael and his wife typically run the food truck and have moved down straight from Baltimore, MD. They were super sweet and super friendly and understand the need for quality seafood in Charlotte. I didn't get to try the cream of crab soup but certainly ready for the next time I can catch these guys. The crab cake sandwich though! It was simply amazing. The seasoned the crab cake to perfection topping it with a bed of lettuce, rémoulade sauce, and sandwiched it between two potato roll buns. I really wished we didn't leave after tasting this or else I would have gotten another! So ready for what more they have in store.

This was amazing. My boyfriend is indifferent to crab cakes and he called them 5 star and phenomenal. Excellent sauce, soup and the crab cakes was outstanding. So much lump meat and truly authentic!

So wanted this to be good cream of crab was like paste, no flavor but flour or cornstarch n old bay, and it had a ton of celery in it more than crab, there was a decent amount of crab but it to had no flavor, crab cake was dry but had some lumps (smaller then these pics on here) and "seafood sauce" was pretty much a crap ton of old bay in Mustard and pretty gross....over all so disappointed worst Valentine's dinner to date ....

Luckily we snagged a spot and walked over to the lake area. We were seated quickly and our server took drink orders and gave us a chance to review the large menu. There is lots to choose from but, we decided on shrimp tacos. We tried the chipotle tacos and the grilled shrimp tacos. Both were very good. You get a choice of sides, and we tried the Mexican street corn salad and the Mac and cheese. I wasn't a huge fan of the corn salad. It was served cold, but I wasn't really a fan of the taste. The Mac and cheese looked creamy and gooey and was told it was really good. Next time I will order a different side. The atmosphere here is bright and lively with a nice view of the water where you can take paddle boat rides. People love to walk over here, so it is nice to have an open view. The restaurant has a tiki bar vibe and has surfing theme throughout the place. Really fun and relaxing. This is a great stop if you are in the area, expect to circle the lot a bit on the weekends, but the food and atmosphere are great here. We will definitely return to Boardwalk Billy's.

We ordered the Sol Sunrise and the Berry Delish - Both were not only good but strong as well. Our waitress was polite and offered some good recommendations on what to get. We ended up getting the Salmon and Waffles w/ "Homestyle Fries" (roasted potatoes). The Salmon was perfectly seasoned with a nice crunch to it. The waffle was fine - Didn't look or taste like a fresh waffle but again it was fine. Those potatoes??? 10/10 - I could've just gotten those and would've been content since I'm an avid potato lover! Also, got the Sol All Star Breakfast. Waffle, Eggs, Turkey Bacon, and "Homestyle Fries." Everything was cooked as expected and taste was good. It's a nice brunch spot right at the boardwalk. The restaurant was busy but not overly so. They were able to seat us right away. There were lots of delicious items on the menu. My friends all got the salmon (two grilled and one fried). I got the crabcake because I just have to be different, I guess. They brought out cornbread muffins with honey butter that were delicious. They were really soft and cake-like and the honey butter topping was awesome. Two of us got side salads for our side and they came out with the meal, which isn't my preference but the food came out quickly any way so it was fine. The side salads were MASSIVE. Lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions (removed from mine) in a huge bowl. Probably could have been a meal to itself. The food came out and there was some confusion on sides that were mismatched and all of the salmons were grilled (instead of the one fried). Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I kinda wish I had gotten the salmon because it looked amazing and really well seasoned. The crab cake I had was good too. I think it had their Garlic Parmesan Cream sauce on top. The crab cake was big and had plenty of crab. I think I would have preferred a traditional tartar sauce on the side. I got their mac and cheese for my other side. It was super creamy and cheesy. It was also topped with the garlic parmesan cream sauce. Very tasty. Service was good. Not ton of visits to the table but I don't think we ever wanted for anything. My total with tip was about $40 and I think it was worth it for all the food I got. Would be a fun place to return too! Good job, Sol'Delish!

Both times it was cooked as requested. The bun is nice and butternut and crispy. I tried the pizza, it's decent pizza, nothing amazing, but I doubt you'd get it and think it was bad. The crust was good, very crisp and the pizza is light with a little crisp to the dough, definitely not soggy. I had the French onion soup.... Unimpressed. I may be a French onion snob as I've been lucky to travel around the country and tried numerous soups (including in France). This was very average, I like the bread to be a little crispy, this was soggy, and the cheese, once I pushed into the soup. It all kind of gelled together. Like you can't get bites with other parts of the soup. I was literally using my knife to try and cut it apart so I could eat it in pieces and not one huge chunk. But it became too tedious and eventually I had to eat the cheese all together. I really liked the chicken wings, cooked well, I really enjoyed the bbq sauce. The wings are by far my favorite. As I have to come here multiple times a year to visit our office. I'm sure I'll try more food. For a hotel restaurant, it's pretty good.

We had good timing because we walked in and were immediately seated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We both were in the mood for seafood so as our app we got the salmon bites, entree was seafood Mac & cheese and an Arnold Palmer. Those salmon bites are crunchy chunks of good flavored fried salmon. Not a one was left. We both got greens, of which I liked, tangy sweet with a hit of fire. Now my seafood mac had more macaroni and not doing shrimp & lobster. Honestly was getting home cooked Mac & Cheese either. The cornbread with a drizzle of honey were pretty good. We were a bit disappointed regarding our main entrees.
