They Have Phenomenal Specialist. Clean building is great. If you have Medicaid they will definitely charge you at least 3 consolation fees. I received two procedures , they don't tell you consolation fees will be charged they should speak with the client upfront before they start any service to the patient and say do you care to move forward despite our consultation fee? This would clear up anything with the client. They kept changing the out of pocket fees yes I got very frustrated of the inconsistency of what I was deemed to pay. Suggestion give all upfront final costs awareness to the client , so they won't have to keep going back and forth trying to scrape up money for different amounts that seem to be changing . They told me from 125 dollars to now 283 one employee gave me a different amount, I feel they will change it again. It's been confusing they give the charges after the service instead of before the services. It seems to be new people being trained up front they have to get peoples billing matter straight because if not the clean building and services won't matter if the customer service ain't right everyone should be on one accord I got told 2 different prices twice that's what got me upset........ I have been a patient here for a few years now and every time I come here, it is always a long wait. You come in on time for your appointment and there is a wait to be seated in your room. Then there is almost 15 minutes waiting for the hygienist. From there is almost 20-30 mins for the dentist to come take a look at your teeth. The long wait is usually due to the dentist double booking themselves (ie they're performing a root canal while you're sitting there waiting). Needless to say, I am not coming back here. I have never in my life had a dentist make me wait this long for an appointment that I BOOKED far in advance (6 months). I recommend you to look elsewhere if you're on the hunt for a dental place. read more

My procedure went fine, but the follow-up for my next time-sensitive procedures was non-existent. Although the staff seem nice and caring in person, I don't feel as though BCDG actually cares about me as a patient. There's a disconnect between presentation and action. This was my 2nd visit for a standard dental cleaning. I arrived at 11:45am for a noon appointment. There were 2 receptionists that greeted me and checked me in. They inquired if any of my details such as insurance or home address had changed. After check-in, I sat in the lobby. There were only 3 people in the lobby including myself. I took that as a sign that they don't book alot of patients for one time slot, which helps with the fast service. I was called back by 12:05pm and the dental hygienist started immediately. She was friendly, talked through what she was doing, and gave clear instructions when I needed to turn my head a certain way. Each room does has a mounted TV but I don't recall a show playing. Instead, I enjoyed the light music that played in the background. After a detailed cleaning and some best practice tips, the hygienist offered me a dental kit and walked me to the front where I scheduled my next cleaning. The entire process took under an hour and I left by 12:40pm. If you are busy or forgetful, you will also appreciate the automated reminders via text or email ahead of your appointment. I usually walk to my appointments however, there is metered parking along Charles street. Furthermore, my husband has been a patient here longer than I have. He has also had a great experience. His employer changed dental insurance providers mid year and that left him with a large bill. We stopped by and submitted the new insurance and they were able to run the claims under the new insurance and resolved the bill in less than 2 weeks. I appreciated their swift follow up. read more

For background, I've had a small cavity in my back molar (which technically is my wisdom tooth because my back molars were extracted years ago after failed root canals) for several years now. I often just don't chew with my back teeth to avoid worsening the tooth. Well, after years of just having a hole in that tooth, it breaks. The small, avoidable hole becomes a large gaping hole. Now, in the past, I had a dental surgeon tell me I should extract that tooth (and a few others on the top to even out the proportions of my mouth because there is no molar on the other side) but I just never did and didn't want the top teeth extracted because their wasn't any discomfort created from keeping them. So, I go to this place to schedule an extraction. In my first visit, they tell me I'll need an Oral Surgeon to extract the tooth and tell me the only one available is there on a Friday. I scheduled the extraction. They keep my X-Rays but don't view them. Before the date, I'm called and told I'll need to reschedule, so I do. Yesterday, I take time off of work to come in and am oddly charged for the procedure up-front... but when I get back with the Surgeon, he refuses to extract the tooth and decides to spend 10 or 15 minutes trying to convince me to get a root canal and a crown on this tooth instead. He also mentioned implants to even up the proportions in my mouth. I'm told that whatever I decide, I'm not getting the extraction today, I either have to wait for another Surgeon for extraction or wait for the root canal procedure. I'm then strangely asked what I do for a living. After I answer, his smile gleams in my direction as he makes a small joke and leaves. Coincidentally, my insurance covers the extraction. I'd only be paying around $100 for it. However, the root canal and crown procedure is not covered to the same degree and would cost me upwards of $1200 to do! After seeing this I tell the front desk staff that I can't do this procedure and am told that I must sign off on the documentation to document that I understand the cost associated (with a procedure I do not want to move forward with). As I sign, I ask for my refund, and then spend a few more minutes struggling to get that processed. They then set up the appointment with the better Surgeon... and conveniently they are available on my days off. So, from the very start, I could have been working with what could be their best specialist on my actual days off. There has been much time spent, time taken off of work, pain endured, and stresses conveyed... and all it feels like is that I am not cared for. Long story short, I'm hoping to speak with someone that cares about their patients rather than their wallets... but that may not be here. We'll see. The only redeeming quality of this place thus far is the nice front desk staff. read more

It's so hard finding a good dental office, so I'm glad I found this place! I've always had a pleasant experience. The facilities are nice, the staff are friendly, and they take a wide range of insurances. Their website is functional, including online scheduling, and prior to your visit, you will receive plenty of both email and text reminders. The most recent time I went, they were extremely efficient. There was minimal wait for the x-rays, cleaning, and the exam, and I was done with my whole visit (a routine preventive visit) in under 50 minutes. I always remember dentist visits taking a long time as a child, so I was also a little suspicious of how quick the cleaning and exam was. My only complaint is that the provider saw me for a hot minute. He didn't introduce himself, just looked at my teeth for one second, and said it all looked good and was out. I've been with the other providers at this location before and they took a bit more time. All COVID precautions in place, including the mouth wash they make you swish before they begin examining your teeth. There is street parking, but goes at $3.50 an hour. If you anticipate a longer visit, you can ask them for the flat rate of $6 for the affiliated garage. Make sure to ask for the little goody bag if you want another toothbrush or travel size toothpaste and floss! read more

I had a $1500 bill because my insurance didn't approve dental work. They never told me insurance didn't approve the dental work, but they went ahead and worked on my teeth. They overcharged my FSA account leaving me NO extra money for meds I needed. They never told me they overcharged me. They never told me I had a bill. I found out 11 months later when I came in for a cleaning. They told me I had to pay or call the insurance company myself. When I refused, they told me they would take care of it. I called back to find out why I was overcharged and to see if they would provide me with a refund. I was told "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it" so I cancelled my future appointments until they figure out their billing mix-up. AVOID! After going here for many months, I was told I have a myriad of problems that needed to be fixed, but I have confirmation from another dentist that none of them are issues I actually have. First, I was told I needed a root canal. I set up a payment plan but I left before I ever went through because of how unprofessional they were and my gut instinct that they were not telling me the truth and rushing when doing my fillings. My new dentist confirmed that I do not need a root canal. Second, I was told I needed a $500 mouth-gaurd for clenching my teeth that insurance doesn't cover. I was unable to afford and told the dentist, he told me that I was going to ruin my teeth and started to be sassy with me... I asked my new dentist and he told me there was no reason I would need that and I had no signs of clenching or grinding. Upon further looking at their reviews, it shows they tell a lot of people this and all I can think is this is a MONEYGRAB! I also had a filling done, a bit later I was flossing with a stick flosser and it got stuck in the filling and pulled it out. I returned to get it "fixed" and told me it was my fault because I shouldn't be using the stick flossers when I was never told that either. The "fix" they did was TERRIBLE and RUSHED! The dentist kept shaping it and grinding it down but it never fit my tooth right so he took a lot of it off. After the local anesthesia wore off, I realized it was super sensitive and I called to make an appointment to get it fixed AGAIN and they said they would call back and did not. I finally made an appointment to return and had to wait for over and hour "for the dentist to get there". Over an hour later I asked when I would be seen and they told me I had to reschedule because the dentist was leaving. Upon my confusion, and of course being upset and annoyed by this, the bald male receptionist yelled at me in the lobby. When my new dentist looked at this filling he was appalled at how badly shaped it was and just how poorly it was done. He was able to also point out dark spots that indicated decay and bad cohesion as a result of a shoddy filling. Happy to report my new dentist has completely fixed the sensitivity and actually cares for his patients and not their money! I wish I had never given them my money and I sincerely hope you will not. They do not care about you or your teeth. All they want is to take as much money from you as possible and make you feel bad. I will also be writing to my dental insurance to ask them to remove them from their database because this is completely absurd. I wish I could give them 0 stars. This is my second review for them because I have all the confirmation I need to know that they were lying to me. Baltimore City Dental Group is fantastic! From the front desk staff to the dental hygienists and dentists. The wait time is never too long and they will take you early if they have the time. They will contact insurance and see what your plan is and what your insurance covers before procedures. I had two crowns placed last year in 2020 and they told me down to the dollar amount how much I would be paying out of pocket so I could get my finances in order. This office turned out to be a rip off. They lied and charged me for x-rays the insurance paid for then lied to insurance company again claiming they did a procedure they didn't do. This low life dentist has made a very bad mistake. They wouldn't extract my tooth unless I paid for more x-rays of the same teeth leaving me in a medical crisis. This is a dishonest, and fraudulent dental practice that would be investigated for insurance fraud, at best. If you have good insurance, which we were fortunate to have, you will be charged for things they literally did not do- procedures they literally did not perform just to get money from your insurance, and you. The technician Vlad, is a sweet talking car salesman, who cleans your teeth meanwhile trumping up charges and claims for your insurance.I called to inquire about the claims that were charged assuming they must have been a mistake only to be screamed at by Dr. B, who said I need to listen to him as those were the procedures that were performed. I calmly asked him to review the charges, as I only saw him for less than 2 minutes yet the procedures needed a dentist to authorize them- he did not even see me until the end of the standard cleaning- but claims otherwise. I was charged more than $1000 for a standard cleaning that lasted 7 minutes. Do not go to this dentist- this practice should not be trusted. If you are a person of color in Baltimore, do not go here, you will be treated with suspicion and your IDs will be extra scrutinized- while white people stroll in without any or limited verification process. I literally witnessed them deny that a young black teen was who he said he was until finally his mother could be called and send in her credentials. Do go elsewhere. read more

I had an emergency tooth extraction that needed to happen and I have had bad experiences with dentist groups . I went to the baltimore dental group 2yrs ago the doctor was great the first time I did not have a problem with a dentist thinking "your black you can handle the pain, standing on the arms of the chair because he underestimated the roots being too long and did not have the right tools to complete the job , charging me 800.00 cash and then charging my insurance company max and then me again and the list goes on , but yesterday I had an extraction and I told the young doctor that i hated coming to the dentist and he said as I lay back with my mouth open you should have some respect especially because he was doing work in my mouth .....well needless to say I will never go there again , I will be going to another dentist to make sure he did not do anything fowl to me , I don't know if he was having a bad day but all I know is most people hate the dentist, we respect their talent but most folks have had bad experiences and to me being the customers, I thought he would reassure me that I was in safe hand.... maybe it was because I was woman or black ....I don't know but that young man needs to not be in customer care!
