I show up and the people from crystal decor that were supposed to be there already when I showed up did not show up for hours after I arrived. Because of this I ended up setting up most of the decorations with a few other guests while we waited for the decor people. When they did show up the staff did very little to help. They set up a few chairs, some tables, a few decoration pieces and promptly left. There were many items missing including the number of tables that were supposed to be there. The few guests that were there to help set up some smaller items ended up setting up almost the entire venue. As well I discovered, after talking to the bride, the decoration was not what was agreed. The staff then showed up late for the reception, after most guests arrived, and did not set up properly. No tables had glasses, water, etc, as agreed. As well the staff were not dressed in a respectable manner for a wedding, T-shirts, sweats, and so on. At the end Crystal Decor asked for more money claiming they didn't receive enough even tho they poorly set up and missed many items. Recently I found pictures of the reception on their Facebook page promoting "their" work that truly was the work of the guests that showed up early to help. Overall a horrible experience with this company. If you want a event to be well decorated, on time, stress free and on budget this is not the company for you.

We had over 100 guests and we were going to use the balloon arch and backdrop for photos with our family and friends. I called them to find out where they were and the owner said they thought it was tomorrow as they "THOUGHT takedown was Monday". Firstly, we never discussed takedown being Monday, so this was a pure assumption on their part. Secondly, when you're hired for a once in a lifetime event like this and get the date wrong, this is UNPROFESSIONAL. You really just need to get one thing right, which is to show up and make a balloon arch - how hard is that? I'm deeply upset about this and nothing is going to make it right because my daughter only has this birthday once. It was her 100 days party - a party to introduce her to both sides of the family and close friends for the first time - not a typical birthday party so we can't have the same event again.

Yesterday we had face painters and a juggling magician for our Corporate BBQ and Family Day at Heritage Park, and these guys were a big hit. I'm pretty sure they painted about 200 faces, kids and adults alike (they painted a fabulous glittery gold butterfly on the right side of my face). The juggler/magician - extremely entertaining. Funny, engaged the kids in his act, wandered from table to table getting everyone involved, definitely will be bringing this crew in again. These guys are great to deal with, great value for the money.

I came in looking to rent a helium tank. All they had were the big tanks for $80/day. A big tank is totally not what I needed, way to big in fact. The guy helping me suggested one of the disposable helium tanks... but those are crap. The balloons last for like 2 hrs before they start floating down to the ground. 3 if you're lucky. Anyway, this is where the staff member launched into an explanation about what makes your balloons last a really long time. He took me over to their helium tank and proceeded to show me the extra latex coating they use to coat every balloon (which apparently helps the balloon stay afloat for like 3-5 days). I was thankful for the extra info, and for the fact that he didn't try and talk me into renting the tank anyway. He did apologize for not having what I needed and suggested maybe trying Praxair for my own tank if I were going to use it often. Anyway, customer service like that can be hard to find. You'll see me checking out Canuck again sometime for other party things!
