We were bullied by Simply Elegant in to cancelling our contract. We have our event booked at…read moreWaterfront Parks (original venue at Skyline which apparently closed according to Simply Elegant) for July 2021 and they told us around 20 days before our event that there was a scheduling conflict so we cannot have the venue anymore on the date that we're suppose to have our event. They offered us a refund of the venue cost if we move our date, or move us to Venue 308 or Brownstone but with no compensation for the trouble, or full refund to cancel our event. We don't understand how they can double book the venue and choose to kick us out instead. Either they accidentally double booked or a bigger client wanted our date so Simply Elegant chose to boot us out, which was a clear breach of contract. We wanted a refund before (even just 75% of our money back) but they won't let us which I understood because we signed a contract but we asked them anyway just in case they will allow it. But for them to spring the news to us that we will not get the Waterfront Park venue 20 days before our event was so shady. They told us that there was a conflict with the Shriners which was a lie because we checked the Shriners website and they do not have an event at that venue on our date. We were left scrambling and we felt cheated and bullied by this company. We would be okay with them moving us to a different venue if they would just refund us the venue cost but they did not budge. They didn't even try to meet us halfway, they did not want to negotiate. We were suppose to have a skyline view, then they moved us to Waterfront Park which would have given us a lake view (so comparable to our original venue), but now they wanted to move us to another venue with no view - so we felt they should at least compensate us. Changing our date was not an option given how late it is already for us to ask our other vendors and our guests if they can work with that. We chose to support them during the pandemic but as soon as everything opened up, they chose to screw us over. I am 6 months pregnant and the emotional distress they have put me through is unbelievable - especially for a company that is supposed to be a champion in hospitality and client service. We decided to deal directly with the venue that they were going to move us to as I couldn't imagine them still holding our event after how they treated us. As soon as I told them that we would opt for the full refund (after us trying to negotiate and them not making any counteroffers), they told me that they will mail me the cheque - knowing full well that we need the money right away so we can pay the new venue and new caterer. There was no sense of urgency on their end. When we paid them they were etransferred so they received our money instantly, and for the refund they wanted to just mail the cheque. We ended up picking up the cheque and that's how our relationship with them ended. They're probably just going to delete this review....

As my kids have grown, I have still been able to find really cool themes to work into our older boy parties. Gladiator arena was "epic" as the kids described it. And my little guy prefers the pirate ship; much cheaper to rent one of these in your own back yard then doing a theme somewhere else. Its mid October and I was still able to get a bouncer. One year the weather turned and they set up in our garage! Apparently if space permits, ie, vaulted bonus room, high ceilings in the basement they can set up inside your home! I have never hesitated in recommending these guys to my friends and family and will continue to do so. Thanks Bouncy Town!

I love a good Paint Nite! What a fun way to hang with your friends and do something other than just…read moredrink and eat. Paint Nite always has tons of different and new art paintings and they have decent distribution around town so you can usually find a painting you like at a pub near you. I have zero artistic talents, but if I can do it then so can you. The instructors are really good about going through the steps with you, keeping you on time, and helping if you encounter problems. It's intimidating to put the first swipe of paint on the pristine canvas, but after you get over that hurdle, it strangely becomes easier and you start to get in the zone and just flow. So if you're afraid to try it because you don't have an artistic bone in your body like me, I say give it a try - you'll be amazed what you can accomplish! And keep reminding yourself that it's just for fun, so you remove the pressure from yourself and just enjoy time with your buddies!

I'm no artist and I was pretty sure this was going to be a case of throwing my money away and ending up with something I'd toss in the nearest dumpster. So, you can imagine how thrilled & surprised I am that I have something that I...actually like. It's not fine art, by any means, but it's actually something i won't be ashamed to hang on my apartment walls. The basic premise of Paint Nite is simple - you congregate in a bar, order yourself some bevvies, and proceed to follow along with painting the picture chosen by your Paint Nite instructor for the night, who also supplies all the painting materials. Our painting was a blossom tree in front of a full moon - perfectly pretty and girly for a bachelorette. We arrived, grabbed seats (we should have arrived earlier or asked them to reserve us a block of seats, as we could not all sit together when we arrived about 5 minutes before it started). And then off we started. I immediately thought I was screwing up (apparently, I can not paint a symetrical circle), but the staff was really good at calming my ruffled feathers and giving me ideas for how to ensure it wound up right by the end of the evening. And indeed it did! My moon is a little un-spherical, and my tree isn't very proportonate, but for my first time ever wielding a paintbrush, I'm pretty pleased - and I can definitely see how paint nites would be a regular event for many people! If I have any critiques, it was that there need to be more seats facing the artist, vs. a 50/50 split of facing and away. I know in this regards they're working with the bar's space, but it does make it more difficult to hear & see what's going on (even though the instructor brings the art work around frequently to let you see the next step). The headset microphone the instructor was wearing also needs a bit of work - it was very, very difficult to understand her through it (it either needs servicing or she needs to wear it further from her mouth). All in all though, it was a fun night & a great bonding activity for me to get to know my sister's friends at. I'd definitely be interested in doing another one!
