We spent 1.5 hours warming up, getting used to the flow, learning beginner level salsa, even Suzy Q salsa step. I've danced salsa for so many years but never actually took an adult dance class just for fun. It was the perfect date with my favorite +1 and such a fun way to do something different and learn something new with zero pressure. Kathryn was amazing and she made it so easy to learn. We had a full house and everyone was so fun to dance with no matter the skill set or experience, everyone was welcome. Absolutely love the revamped studio and how big and full of light the room is. There are so many classes on their schedule and so many fun things to try for adults only. Great space where no one takes themselves too seriously and you can come learn and have fun. Can't wait to do another fun class here again!

They should also have a section reserved for ADULTS ONLY , because we were trying to relax in the lazy river and instead got mobbed by screaming children who are afraid of the water and to many people at once . I understand it's a public place , it's summer , however would it be a lot nicer if they could have an adult only part of the park . More appropriate for the people who want to relax . Designed for probably no more than 18-20 people, at first glance it looks like a big hot tub or trampoline in the River. In some ways it's a bit of both. You'll find it by meandering your way past the parking lot, beyond the sand volleyball courts, and past the basketball court to the aluminum ramp at the north edge of the park overlooking the bridge. Thankfully, the aluminum ramp means you don't need to climb sharp rocks or weed through lillypads to get into the water, instead you just walk right into the little rainbow colored plastic pool ring and land on a nylon netting that prevents you from walking on river mud. On a hot August day, it's a refreshing way to cool off and enjoy the park. You'd think that would make it busy, but in the prime afternoon heat on a Saturday, there were only 6 people in the pool, with a couple parents on the sidelines. Just in case you need a bit of privacy before getting in the pool, there are porta potties and even a curtained changing area. So many conveniences, and all without park fees. A gem for families in Beacon and for visitors who want to expand their stay beyond Dia and Main St. Bonus tip: go on Sunday and make a picnic from vendors at the local farmer's market on the river dock.

The Blue Trail is considered beginner-friendly, I found parts of it a bit challenging because of the incline. Still, the effort was worth it, the view of South Beacon Mountain was absolutely beautiful. The hike itself was a great experience, especially with friends. Near the train station, there are small shops where you can grab food, drinks, or any last-minute supplies. There are also restrooms by the station and portable toilet near the trail areas. I would definitely come back to hike there again, maybe do the red trail.

If you go in the winter, take caution with the ice when climbing to the top. After about an hour into the trail, you will see a sign to continue on the Full Loop or the Short Loop. When we reached that point, we switched to the Bull Hill Short Loop. It took around 3 hours to complete. The trails have beautiful views! You will see other hikers, but everyone keeps a safe distance. Take time to stop and enjoy the surrounding. There are portable toilets at the beginning of the trail with hand sanitizers if you need to use a bathroom.

Wait... Aren't we going on the short loop? No...long loop...here we go...

We dropped by 4 different studios and we knew PDC was for us! My 4-year-old daughter has been with PDC for 2 years and we absolutely love being a part of the PDC family! Classes are nurturing and positive, age-appropriate but certainly teaches the little ones to push themselves and do their best as little ballet and tap dancers! Owner, Paige L., and the toddler teacher, Ashley A., are absolutely amazing with the children! Each brings their excitement, their expertise, and their big hearts to the classes. Even the older dancers, who sometimes cross paths with the 2-4 year old class (or on the recital days) are so sweet and loving! They are like big sisters to the little dancers, taking them under their wing and making them feel like important parts of the PDC family. These girls have become extended family. All the parents look out for each other's daughters and support them with encouragement and love. There are workshops with special guest dancers and they have a winter performance for dancers who'd like to participate. The studio is an adorable boutique studio - small and quaint but perfect. Parents can sit right outside the class and watch. PDC is conveniently located right on Route 6 in Mahopac and parking is available behind the studio. If you are looking for a dance studio that feels like family, I highly recommend giving PDC a try!

My daughter is 6 so for her age group, they break out the kids by level and groups so no group is bigger than 7-8 kids per instructor. They have several instructors at once looking over the kids to ensure safety. I feel like they have the class well organized. This place is definitely geared towards girls instead of boys. For beginners I don't think it matters, but if you are looking for more advanced training for boys, I would go elsewhere. They offer 10 weeks sessions and gives discount if you sign up for multiple sessions (i.e. 6 month/ 1 year). Makeup class is allowed once per 10 week session. They also offer Winter and summer camps and birthday parties. For covid safety, they don't require masks which is great since the kids can get heated doing all the flips and jumps! They check temperature and sanitize the kids hands when they enter the facility. Parents can drop off the kids or stay at a viewing lobby while kids in class. I recommend this place for your little ones!

My partner and I had never danced together before, really, and my partner sort of always shied away from dancing in general. Anyhow we are having a small adventure reception but wanted a polished dance. I absolutely love dancing and it is just so fun. So we looked them up and did an initial drop in dance "class". It was absolutely great - they asked us a few questions, helped us pick out our song and showed us a few simple moves to get us started. That first hour blew by and blew our minds and what a great opportunity this would be. Initially my partner didn't want a whole choreographed show but after that first lesson and understanding Linda & Chester's style in choreography we decided to buy the choreography package! Although we haven't had our reception yet we are absolutely blown away by the lessons we have taken over the last couple of months with them. The ease and clarity of the choreography which is designed each step of the way to match our abilities and style is great! Plus they had no issues at all with us having our baby in tow - who's favorite time during our lessons was spinning around the room! We have one final lesson left before our big send off but we are over the moon about our experience with Linda and Chester and can't wait for their social dances to pick back up so we can attend! Additionally, we have even talked about just continuing to do some dance lessons every now and then as drop-ins even after our event to just keep it going! Couldn't recommend them enough!
