This is a pretty nice location I have listed some things to help you determine if this is a place for you: There is a shared parking lot in the front. Upon entering I was greeted and offered assistance. I did have an appointment, but at 5 o'clock they are very few people at this place. They have a wide variety of colors and brands of nail polish. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The prices were reasonable. My no chip pedi was 45.00. Manu pedi basic 45.00 together. The place is clean. They play calm music in the background. Do not come here if you are expecting great customer service. Both my roommate and I went in to get our nails done one day apart and both had unpleasant experiences. I went in yesterday for a gel manicure. I finally sat down and she offered me something to drink. I asked for a glass of wine. Everything was going well until she was almost finished painting my nails. I heard her conversing with another staff member and then she suddenly stopped to ask me if I am 21 years old. She then yells out to the owner laughing about how I was definetly underage. I offer to let her see my ID but she declines and continues laughing with other staff members. In any other circumstance, I would have taken this as a compliment, however, it was very embarrassing as it was in front of other customers and the whole staff of women. It left a bad taste in my mouth (not just the nasty wine) and I will not be returning. My roommates experience today: Was getting a manicure and pedicure. While half way done with my feet, she asks for me to pay for the services before I get my hands done, which was understandable. However, she put the QR code of her venmo for a tip with the receipt during this. I scanned the venmo and planned to tip after the service was completed. While she is working on my toes, she pulls out her phone and looks at me to ask if I venmoed her. I told her I scanned it and she looked confused as to why I didn't send the money. She schedule a time and when I returned back, I had to wait 15minutes before she stated there are 3 people in front of me. Disappointed. My service was good - I went about 1230 on a Sunday two weeks ago and they got me in and out as fast as possible, though it took some time still. To be expected. I'm disappointed because within 3 days of getting my brand new French gel manicure, the top color had darkened already. I've been told this can happen if you go in a tanning bed, but I didn't even see the sun! Just at the office like normal and the white tips look brown/pink on some nails. I've had gels and French gels many times and never have had the top coat ruin the manicure so fast. I wont be going back. Usually I have a great experience here, but I got a dip powder manicure here 7 days ago and it has ALREADY chipped! I feel completely robbed. In the past, I've gotten dip powder manicures from other salons that have gone 4-5 weeks without chipping, and this one only lasted 6-7 days. It's probably worth saying that I don't do anything rough with my hands--I even wear gloves when I do the dishes! In addition to the chip, the top clear coat is coming off on several nails, which is totally bizarre. I currently live in Austin, TX and got this manicure on a weekend trip to visit my family in Charlotte--if I was still in Charlotte, I would be going back this weekend to ask them to fix it (which I'm sure they would--they're very nice!) I have been going here since it opened and have always had an amazing experience except for one. A new tech rushed through the service and it wasn't up to par. I called Judy, the manager, and was given an entire do-over for free. My gel nails last 3 weeks without chipping, my feet always feel and look fabulous, their color and polish choices are extensive, and the crew is always gracious and professional. They are closed for renovations and I can't wait to go back! They aren't expensive for their services and frankly you get what you pay for!! Love this place read more

Initially I thought I LOVED this place due to the fact that they were 1) Clean 2) Served Wine while you are being serviced 3) Very Friendly I'm from Chicago and lived in the DMV for 2 years prior to moving to Charlotte 2013 so it's hard to find what you had and I've tried salon after salon and I feel like every salon here don't use the original products Opi Gel and Gelish. I think the salons here water the gel down because there is NO WAY that a gel polish should peel or chip or be see through after 4days. Where I'm from my Gelish or Opi gel lasted TWO WEEKS which is why I kept a standing two week appointment which is perfect. My additional issue is finding people in Charlotte to file my nails the way I wear them which is pointed (I've been wearing my nails like this for years and it's now a trend that Rhianna and Beyonce are rocking so you would think that salons in Charlotte would read Cosmo or other mags that they have on display to see the trend and learn to do it). I finally found a woman here to do my nails in the shape I wanted and her name was Tammy, however I called to make my standing two week appointment and was told she doesnt' work there anymore :-( So I now have to search and hunt for another salon. It took 3 times before I finally found a nail spa that I loved in Charlotte. Moving here from Utah and having the same nail lady for almost 2 years, I felt hopeless and flat out done. A coworker friend suggested that I give Ballantyne nails a shot. I walked in and asked for a pedicure. Within 2 minutes I was already seated in the massage chair and asked if I wanted a beverage. They offered wine and being from Utah, I was surprised and ecstatic. Wine and a pedicure. Doesn't get better than that. The atmosphere was calm and quiet. Not much chatter going on until I made an effort to small talk with who I assume was the manager. I think her name was Judy? I wish I could remember. Anyway. Very glad that I had a positive experience. It was very needed to get a pedicure that evening. I will be returning and possibly inviting some friends to join me on my next trip! I wish would have read the reviews before I wasted my time . I was treated terrible! My nail tech was so rough and rushed to get my nails done because the "more privileged" so she thought customers were coming in, oh and she made it very clear that she did not want to service me . She left wax on my face I had to tell her that my nails all have to be square and I had to ask her several times her name because she was so rude. After she waxed me she wiped my face so hard I thought about pressing charges for assault. I would never go back or recommend that anyone else go. She didn't know I was looking for a nail home my nail tech moved away and she pretty much racially profiled me. Terrible service. I recently had a pedicure done at Ballantyne Nail Spa and as soon as I left, it was not even 10 minute when I began to notice that my feet felt like sandpaper. Now, I have been getting pedicures for 15+ years and this time has been the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! I immediately went back to the salon and asked the manager if the lady who worked on my feet could smooth them out. There should be no reason my feet look the way that they do after a pedicure and especially when I gave her a really good tip! The manager said "No Do-Over's." and that I would have to come back 6 times in order for my feet to smooth out. REALLY?! So this is what you all are doing? Half a$$'N work and expect full pay and don't even have the decency, integrity, the morality to fix your mistake. Poor Service and not worth the money. The technician was rushed and got up from my pedicure to take care of something else no less than four times. I don't think she looked at what she was doing once, spent the entire time looking around the shop. She paid so little attention she scraped my skin with the buffer. I have been to this salon several times for a gel polish..no manicure. Each time they try and pester me into a full manicure. I have had two different nail techs so far from this shop and neither of them were very nice. They don't smile, barely look at me, & speak another language amongst themselves the ENTIRE TIME. They complain and argue with me when I ask for 3 coats on a very light colored nail polish. Seriously? Who's paying for it? The last time I went and wasn't offered any wine to drink when everyone around me had some. My first visit here was with a gift certificate that a client gave me. I was very impressed with the atmosphere at Ballantyne Nail Spa. Very clean, professional, and classy. They have a decent selection of polishes to choose from. There are at least 8 pedicure, massaging chair stations in addition to the 6 (?) manicure-only tables. Like any good nail salon, you are offered a free beverage of your choice (anything from bottled water to chilled wine). I was very pleased with my mani-pedi both times I've been here. The chair is very relaxing, hand and feet massages are amazing, wax dip and heated booties are the bomb. I really like the fragrances of all the products they use here too. Nail technicians have been very professional and talented. I like that if you don't want to chat, you just want to close your eyes and relax they are quiet and accommodating OR if you want to chat and be friendly, they are ready for a light conversation. On my second visit I tried the acrylic gels on my nails only. The extra $ is totally worth it! Especially if you're going to the beach or on vacation out of town. My nails stayed perfect for just over a week. Only 1 nail chipped a bit on the second week, but that was it... the rest stayed flawless. Make sure you bring cash for tipping. read more

I have had a lot of pedicures in my time and I have to say the absolute BEST pedicures I've ever had have come from here!! Let me preface by saying I am really hard on my feet (especially in the summer time). I walk around barefoot, wear sandals/flip flops 24/7, and am very lackadaisical about using lotion. However, when I leave here my feet always look like a million dollars and feel that way too. Not only do you get a basic pedicure but you get the leg massage, leg scrub, and they even do a paraffin wax dip. All for the same price as a basic pedicure everywhere else. Generally speaking these added extras are considered on the spa pedicure level and cost an extra 20-25 dollars. Here however it's standard, but the talent here is anything but standard. A++ all around. The chairs are comfortable and everything is very clean. The atmosphere is very relaxing and they really take their time (yet are efficient). Honestly it's some of the best 30-45 minutes I've spent lol. I'm taking my mom here at some point this weekend. She's only ever had one pedicure and she loved it but I think this place will really knock her socks off!! read more

This place is great. I recently moved to the area so I'm "Salon-hopping". Everyone is very friendly. I got basic colors and the paraffin is AH-MAY-ZING!!!! And as most people have already mentioned the best perk is the complimentary wine. There were no questions asked when I told her that I wanted my acrylic mani very very short as I work with my hands every day. Special attention to decor like the sunflowers around the curtains make this place one of a kind. This is a great gift for someone else or for yourself. I always forget to bring cash for the tip.... but make sure to pay a little extra to help with the extra charges. read more

I was there 2 days ago and had SNS on my nails. I've been there 3 times and the first time the clear coat did not stay on my nails. The 2nd time my nails did really well. The third time two of my nails broke after the first day because they didn't apply enough powder or clear coat. The clear coat doesn't even cover all of my nails. I don't live close so it's hard to go back and get them done again. I did call and talked to the manager who was unconcerned and was not interested in what I had to say. This is my favorite nail place in Charlotte. Everyone was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable and everything felt so super clean. I especially liked that the lady made sure to tell me the price before I picked colors or anything- just since it was my first time there. I am 7.5 months pregnant and these ladies made me feel like a queen. I especially loved chatting with the lady (wish I knew her name) who has a 7 month old baby at home and getting all kinds of tips about the hospital and whatnot that no one ever seems to think to tell a new mom. I love that the basic service here included a parafin dip and that they will do both your nails and toes at the same time, so you can just sit back and truly feel pampered. It has been almost a week since I have been and my feet are still feeling super soft and even the hubs commented on how much better they were after this place than any other one that I have been to recently. I am hoping to see these ladies at least one more time before this little baby girl gets here to make sure that my nails are in tip top shape for her arrival. read more

Well, I went to my Hair Salon that was in the same area wear I get my pixie cut for $15. I had made an appointment at another Nail Salon near South Park but I had an hour to kill. So when I was leaving the hair salon, I saw this Nail Spa, I called and cancelled my appointment at South Park. So this salon wasn't terribly busy being 3pm. I thought I would try the place out. Judy is the manager. The ladies are all nice. I had Thanh do my Gel Mani-Pedi. It was full service with the pedicure including wax. The manicure was with lotion and hot hand pads. Now it wasn't cheap. It was $85 with tip. It took about 1 hour and 50 minutes. I am hoping the Gel last on my fingernails longer than two weeks. All in all I am pleased so far. No horror stories. The clients all seemed nice and to be a little upper middle class even though I am not but I can act like it. LOL read more

The atmosphere & cleanliness of the salon is beautiful, the skills are below the picture they paint, no pun intended. I chose a putty white gel color for my nails, the application was horrible. I went back the next day to show them how uneven & messy the polish was. They told me to choose another color, I told them no this is what I wanted, and all gel polish have the same consistency, it's not the polish it's the application-they insisted on the color, I then had to break out my credentials as a 37 year veteran cosmetologist, I have done nails for years so I know what's up-got my money back & I will not return. I just moved to the area and this is the second salon I have decided to try out based on reviews from yelp. I had never had a pedicure as luxurious as the one I received from Ballantyne and I was pleasantly surprised. They only have one type of pedicure available, which is $35 (a little more expensive than I'm used to), but I felt I got my money's worth. They offer a paraffin wax treatment at the end which was a nice touch. However when it came to the polish, unfortunately it looked like a toddler had painted my nails. I have never done this before, but I had to ask the owner to re-paint them. With all do respect, I think my technician was very new and she did give a great massage. I went on a Sunday at about 1pm and during my 45 min pedicure, the place became packed and very busy. The phone rang a lot during the time I was there and while they claim to take appointments (I thought I made one before going) they really just take your name and time and tell you to come without writing anything down. She must have told 4 people they can come at 2:00 that day! It seemed very unorganized and frantic when it got busy. I would go again during the week at an off time when the technicians aren't rushed and the environment is a little more relaxed. read more

Don't play your self... while the acrylic fill in that I got was decent, I was over charged and "slapped in the face" (so to speak) by the customer service. My mother and I went in for our monthly fix up. She got a deluxe mani and pedi that she got through a gift certificate. She got normal polish on both her nails and toe nails. Everything was fine until we paid half way through (like they make you do). I was charged $25 for my fill in. However I looked at the pricing list and it says and I quote "fill-in: color $20. French $25. Gel $35." I went to confront the manager about it. At first they said the manager wasn't there. Well I saw her on her phone in the back and they then quickly got her. I told her that I was over charged; being around other customers she mad up what I know to be a lie. She said it's $20 for a short nail fill in and $25 for a long Nail fill in. Well I know for a fact that the amount of product used is the same. And if that is the case then why label the prices differing from color and French? When my mom tipped, ($5 for my lady and $5 for hers) the lady who did her nails was extremely rude. She wasn't happy with the tip and showed it when she carelessly put on the polish. Her attitude was negative and passive agressive. We won't be going again. I recommend Dynasty nails in common wealth. They have cheap prices and good customer service. I've been using this nail salon for the last 8 months because I'm new to Charlotte and at first they were okay, so it was easier to stop searching; However, the last two times I went in and had a manicure with the same lady and she was terrible! She wasn't letting my hands sit in the mitts for more than 30 seconds to try and soak off the old gel polish and kept pulling them out and really hurting my nails. The manager had noticed and came and took over the removal part and put the cuticle cream on and placed my hands back in the mitts. The lady returned and yanked my hands right back out (too soon again) and didn't even remove my cuticles! I left with air bubbles in my polish, cuticles everywhere and it's only been one week and my nails need to be re-done. I will never go back here again. read more

My great experiences slowly started changing to them being very comfortable with me coming so they stopped offering beverages, rushed on my nails, my nails lifted every time within a week. I would get a fill in & pedicure every 3 weeks( EXACT). When I first started going there, I'd be there for at least an hour and a half then it changed to 45 minutes ( if you need a reference for how fast they rushed). And my mom used the same nail tech as me and stopped going Dec 2018 after she was talked to rudely. My mom has followed her from salon to salon and was very upset, now she's searching for a new nail tech & salon. read more

Sadly, another salon that when doing gel polish will not paint down to the cuticle. Therefore leaving a line between cuticle and polish. I was told they could not paint to the cuticle. This makes no sense, other than providing a service that is actually a week of wear...meaning you will need to go again sooner to get your nails re-done because they will have grown out and that line is double. Completely disappointing. I will not return and would suggest this consideration before visiting. read more
