My husband and I had the pleasure of getting to know Alex through his in-person couples counseling sessions.

As someone as already commented for HS2's Irvine Branch, HS2 Academy is full of lies! HS2 Academy's…read moreCerritos branch has a serious lack of teachers and can be considered as one of the worst HS2 branches in Southern California. New teachers are constantly being hired as old teachers are leaving. Even right now during the 2013 school year, the Cerritos branch is still not able to offer any AP classes except for Calculus AB and Spanish. (What a nice tutoring company!) There are only so-called "homework clubs" in which the teachers are told to supervise multiple subjects that they are not familiar with. Those who paid for the 3-in-1 program (can take unlimited amount of group classes) had a huge waste of money because the teachers seldom prepare for class and are very inexperienced in teaching their subjects, including SAT and ACT. (All of the popular teachers are assigned to teach at the nearby Walnut and Irvine branches where there are more students.) For example, if a junior year student has a class schedule of AP Language, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP US History, AP World History, AP Physics, and AP Psychology at school, guess what? This academy does not offer any group classes for any of those classes! You either pay for private tutoring (not included in 3-in-1) for $80 an hour with an inexperienced teacher, or you can take the online class that can be cancelled any time due to the low attendance. Speaking of the college counseling program, only few of the college counselors actually have experience. While HS2 Academy claims that "a lot" of their college counselors are "former college admission officers or interviewers," most are simply individuals who happen to get into a prestigious university and want to make a living. The truly experienced counselors only consult the very high-achieving students, and the rest of the students are sent to the numerous not-so-experienced ones, whomever available. Because each counselor is assigned to consult approximately 40 students, they pay very little individual attention to the students. A lot of the counselors here are newly hired as well, many of them experiencing their first college application season with students. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON HS2 ACADEMY! It's nearly $20,000 for the 3-in-1 program throughout high school. There will be a guaranteed disappointment at Cerritos branch. The nice images of the advertising do not fit this particular branch at all. See how many tutors and counselors HS2 is short of? http://losangeles.craigslist.org/search/?areaID=7&subAreaID=&query=hs2&catAbb=jjj It's simply not worth the money to pay for such a lousy academy.

When a challenge/experience arrives in my life, I get to face it knowing I can call on him if I want to. It matters. The knowledge that there is a therapist I have built trust with provides a freedom to face the unknown on my own, without being alone. In a perfect world, everyone would have a therapist. I had no idea how much my ability to work through challenges would improve, just from having someone to talk through the big ones with. Patrick in particular has a deep understanding of the ways our minds can respond to life, and provides that insight without the detached, clinical vibe so many therapists seem to approach patients with. It's something truly special that he brings to the table. Finding a therapist you vibe with is not a simple task. Having one is a gift. You are a gift, Patrick. Thank you.

I'd seen two therapists before Patrick: one thought it was OK to answer her phone throughout our…read moresession and the other although she did listen to me, I just didn't connect with her and I left feeling the same as when I went in. I was initially apprehensive about seeing a male therapist as I worried that I'd be embarrassed to open up to him or that he wouldn't understand me. I was wrong. From the first meeting he just told me to say what was on my mind, I did and it was great and I left feeling like I'd actually done something that was helping me move in the right direction. He's friendly, kind, welcoming, a great listener, I don't know how he does it but he remembers pretty much everything, he's funny and you feel like he genuinely cares about what you have to say while helping you realize the reasons why you feel and act the way you do. Along with other important changes I've made in my life, he has truly been a great help in guiding me to be more assertive and quiet my own inner critic enough to find peace of mind. There is still work to be done and I know that Patrick will be able to continue to help me. It goes without saying that I highly recommend Patrick.
