The Homolje on the Wiedner Hauptstraße has a take-out counter on the ground floor, an attractive dining area on the first floor, and a large Schanigarten outside in warmer weather. Of course one Serbian food that everyone knows in Vienna is cevapcici. As cevapcici are a favorite of kids and adults alike, it's often a quick meal for a family. I'm happy to report that the cevapcici from Homolje were very well made and had the right spicing to make them tasty. They were served with a fresh housemade Serbian Lepinja bread. A delicious Teleća čorba soup began the meal. All of this was at a very fair price. The service was only so so - not very attentive or friendly - but it was decent enough not to detract from the tasty food. When you feel like eating Serbian in Vienna, Homolje Grill is a good choice...

All things considered, this is a 4 star place. Homolje is a classical Serbian Grill/Restaurant…read moreserving a wide variety of grilled meats on a charcoal grill. Although I would generally rate the food as 3.5 stars on average, when I consider the fantastically affordable prices, I am confident that 4 star rating is well deserved. So here is the review: - Karadjordjeva schnitzel - think of Wienerschnitzel rolled up and stuffed with kaymak (kind of extra fatty cream cheese spread), served with fries. This is a big dish (I doubt that you'll be able to finish it) and probably the most expensive one on the menu costing the whopping EUR 12. Very good quality meat, juicy and tender - 4.5 stars! - Raznjici - pork skewers. The best equivalent for this dish is Greek souvlaki. This is a very good dish, you get a generous portion of two skewers and some salad on the side, for an amazing price of EUR 4.80! The meat is tender and juicy (due to strategically placed fatty pieces), - easily 4 stars. - Cevapcici (or cevapi) - kind of skinless sausages made with ground beef and pork. I had better (a lot better). For some reason, every time I had them there, they were over-seasoned (I am not sure, but I think that they put MSG in the mix). Although extremely big and filling, as well as really inexpensive, I wouldn't give them more than 3 stars. - Pljeskavica - Serbian burger. Made out of the same meat as cevepcici above, served in a home made, warm, and totally awesome Serbian pita/bun (lepinja), for only EUR 3.90! Ask them to put some kaymak on top of it and it will make it exponentially better. Excellent deal and with kaymak a 3.5 star dish. You can also chose fancier, stuffed (with kaymak or cheese), version of pljeskavica or the one with bacon bits and spicy pepper flakes in the mix. - Sopska salad - kind of Greek salad with grated white cheese on top. Better when tomatoes are in season and if properly seasoned a solid 4 star dish. Go check it out if you are in the neighborhood. Many other grilled meats are on the menu. Four people eat and drink for well below EUR 40.

Great spot for lunch!…read more We were in the Parkring area and starving - this place looked busy so we stopped in and had a very good lunch for under EUR $10. The interior is clean, modern and absolutely packed with locals having lunch. The specialty is grilled meats, thus the "Grillhouse" name. The lunch menu offers two daily specials which include soup or salad for EUR $9.90. If you'd like to add an espresso on, it's just EUR $1 more. Because we're stereotypical Americans, we had the cheeseburger. Actually, it was because the other option was "ofenfleck" and neither of us had any idea what that entailed, so cheeseburgers it was. Our food arrived quickly and the burgers were really large - maybe 1/2lb or so. And they were really, really good - juicy, well grilled and very flavorful. I don't always travel to Austria to eat a cheeseburger, but when I do, I'll head back to Huth Grillhouse.

One of the better ones in Vienna, when they actually manage to get them medium rare. - Beef tartare - great! Ask to put an egg yolk on top for you to mix it in. Makes all the difference! - Steaks - Austria is not a steak destination... 'nuff said. - Appetizers - very good, especially melted Taleggio cheese with apples.
