Great spot for lunch! We were in the Parkring area and starving - this place looked busy so we stopped in and had a very good lunch for under EUR $10. The interior is clean, modern and absolutely packed with locals having lunch. The specialty is grilled meats, thus the "Grillhouse" name. The lunch menu offers two daily specials which include soup or salad for EUR $9.90. If you'd like to add an espresso on, it's just EUR $1 more. Because we're stereotypical Americans, we had the cheeseburger. Actually, it was because the other option was "ofenfleck" and neither of us had any idea what that entailed, so cheeseburgers it was. Our food arrived quickly and the burgers were really large - maybe 1/2lb or so. And they were really, really good - juicy, well grilled and very flavorful. More hit-or-miss than its Austrian cousin across the street. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the impeccable service, although the food (based on multiple visits) is 3.75 stars on average. So here we go: - Burgers - good. One of the better ones in Vienna, when they actually manage to get them medium rare. - Beef tartare - great! Ask to put an egg yolk on top for you to mix it in. Awesome place when you feel like having a really good steak. They really know how to prepare any meet or fish. When the weather is nice, sitting outside is a great option. I definitely prefer it over staying inside. Their salmon with prawns is truly delicious and we absolutely love their fries. Staff was attentive and the food was ready rather fast. read more

Lovely dinner last night of appetizers and salmon with a rich molten chocolate cake. I wouldn't have known about Huth, but tried to get into Paul and they were full and referee me here. The original wiener schnitzel is delicious served with hot potatoe salad and fresh cranberry saice! It's nice with white table cloths for dressing up the table to sit outside or inside. The cucumber salad is delicious and served on the side of cordon bleu! read more

Best Burger i have had in Vienna so far. But apart from that i really liked this place in general, the design and layout creates a great social and eating environment, someone went to a lot of trouble to design this place it seems. The menu offers a lot of great meat dishes, which all look good and i can not wait to get back and try them all. Returning to the Huth Grillhouse da Max was on our short list for Vienna. While I love the Schnitzels and the comfort food of Middle Europe, we decided to go for a more red meat option. The Grillhouse has both outdoor and indoor dining and is usually pretty crowded mostly with locals. As you would expect the focus is on Argentine steaks, but there are many other options too, even besides Burgers and Ribs. Though we arrived pretty late recently on a Sunday evening, the accommodating staff did not miss a beat. We opted for cassoulets;. my Lime Beef was awesome; actually an Asian fusion dish which was both flavorful and plentiful. My wife had the BBQ chicken salad. Both dishes were the perfect size for late dining. The Grill House is now offering some interesting foreign and locally brewed Craft Beers, but I confess in this part of the world I'm very comfortable with Czech Budweiser. Situated near Vienna's ritzy Parkring, the Huth Grillhouse da Max restaurant offers a great dining experience at affordable prices. read more

The food was great. On par with American steakhouse standards. However the waitstaff was inexcusably rude to us. The waiter never offered coffee or dessert and threw the bill on the table notifying us that it must be paid immediately. I complained and it seems as if this is not a surprise. One of the best meals we have had in Vienna! It was the first place I could get a real salad like there would be in the US and it was delicious! This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I have ever had. We selected this place because it was one of the few spots we could get a last minute reservation on a Friday night and most of the reviews stated the meats were excellent. When we stepped in no one was to assist us anytime soon so we waited. The person who approached us looked busy and was abrupt and told us to sit outside, no one else was outside but we sat down and realized we would be cold and it was windy. We asked to sit inside and they tried to sit us at a shared table where we would be two feet from the door we said no thanks can we go upstairs he said fine but it is hot. We sat upstairs and he was right it was very hot so there were really no good places to sit. A very young waiter came over to us and asked us what we wanted to order, I actually appreciate fast service but even I felt rushed. I ordered chicken and my son ordered steak, the steak prices were high but not unlike many good steakhouses. My son asked for his to be cooked medium rare. When our dish arrived the water asked if I needed help talking the chicken off of a long skewer, I declined and then my son grabbed the handle at the end and very badly burned his finger. I know that sounds like he did a dumb thing but it was a handle I did not think it would be hot either. My chicken came out fast but my son's steak took another 10 minutes. When it arrived we quickly realized it was raw, not rare but actually not cooked. We waited for another ten minutes and not surprisingly the waiter did not check on us. I brought the plate down and asked If we could have the steak cooked and he started to argue with me and told me at least three times my son asked for it raw. I fully recognize the language issues are on our end as we are in a Country that we don't speak the language but all he had to say was sure we will cook it verses trying to prove the point that I was wrong. He was pretty much refusing to cook it, I had to insist. He brought back the steak and it was cooked perfectly and my son shared he it tasted great. The problem was the next day he had very bad food poisoning. We cannot think of anything else my son had in a 24 hour period that could have made him sick, our guess is that they likely kept the steak on the same plate as the raw meat and my son used the same utensils to cut into it. We were only in Vienna for 1.5 days and my son spent one full day in bed getting sick. Between the incredibly bad service and the potential for food poisoning I would avoid this place! read more
