Compre 3 y así estaban las tres. el plato de tajadas de guineos verdes eran como churros, las tajadas extra tostadas , disque guineo fresco rallado y frito, es la forma en que haces las " tajadas verdes "ahí. Nose podían comer con los frijoles por lo tostadas que estaban. Hice un reclamo pero "dicen que así es como ellos las sirven." Aparte de eso bueno el servicio fue bueno, la mesera muy honesta. The baleadas were folded like tacos and it stick to the paper they serve it with , which make me think that maybe the flour was not fully cooked . I'm hoping that Christian Bale will add us on facebook, and so are these people (Bale-addus!). We'll see if it actually happens. It's a cute little cheap Honduran restaurant in the heart of a mini-Vietnamese Town, in the same Plaza as the Hong Kong Supermarket and Bambu and iBubble. Featuring Honduran Specialties and other Central American Delights. Autocorrect changed the name of the place to Balleaters, I was like no, that'd be mine and Barbie's place. There aren't enough Baleadas shops in the world and this kind of Honduran food is spectacular and totally delicious - so make sure you swing by and give it a try when you're down here, because we did and we were absolutely thrilled by it. Can't believe this place hasn't got more attention. It's one of about five or six amazing Honduran places we've eaten at in Houston so far. There's also a lot of great Salvadoran and Guatemalan places in these parts, not to mention Mexican. But try this, and see for yourself. read more

Don't let other reviews fool you. This place is the best Honduran place in Houston. The portion of the food is very very big and prices are very cheap. I'm 100% Honduran and I highly recommend this Restaurant. I saw a very stupid review about a man going to order tacos and he felt like person was racist.... First off don't go to a Honduran restaurant asking for tacos. We aren't known for that, learn about out culture and read a book. read more

To start off, I don't speak enough Spanish to get by. I only know key words but I had no issues ordering here. The food came out fast and was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I came here one night after drinks with a friend, but I work near here and pass it up every now and then. Always been curious but never entered. Thanks goodness I finally visited because this will definitely be a new lunch spot. The plantains are addictive! I could seriously eat those until I explode! I got here at 7:30pm we ordered right away Two appetizers and one steak plate There was only 5 people here and already eating 8:42 and the main entree and one appetizer came in finally at 9pm the last appetizer comes in and it was COLD!!!!! So I walk in to get some food for my HONDURAN husband this morning and I say "hello!" To the girl ON HER PHONE behind the corner - she looks at me and looks back at her phone half rolling her eyes - I said "hello?" Still smiling and she calls to his other girl behind the counter who spoke English- didn't smile or say anything to me. Just because YOU THINK I don't speak Spanish doesn't give you free reign to be rude to customers. I ordered a baleada and the thing was wrapped loosely in one tiny piece of foil over this massive baleada- which spilled ALL OVER my clothes and truck when I tried to give it to my daughter when we left. The girl who spoke English was so nice so it's really disappointing that the other one just assumed I don't speak Spanish and gave me such a disgusting attitude. ¡Hola! from Mexican heaven in Houston! You walk in and everyone speaks Spanish inside! Nothing but una telenovela and fútbol are playing on the television overhead! You get brought out free chips with...beans and cheese? Whoopsie, you don't need to tell it to Toto, but we're not in Mexico anymore! The flags adorning the inside of Baleadas Express span the entirety of Central and even South America, the primary clue that this is "somewhere over the rainbow" south of Mexico. Indeed, the title "baleadas" should suffice as a clue that you have walked into a slice of Honduras, a "Chiquita" country that in many Americans' minds has "gone bananas!" However, Honduran food undoubtedly does not "monkey around," as its bang for the buck can arguably beat any Mexican joint in the area, leaving me shockingly stuffed and fed not just in body, but mind and soul. I now always walk into a Latin restaurant speaking some degree of Spanish, and as typically, I continued to push unabated through responses in English until the waitress pointed out the menu was also printed in English, and so I waved the white flag of "nada más," reluctantly waving it in front of the tempting array of Honduran banana sodas knowing I would be eating a fairly decently sized dinner in a few hours and also that I was an itinerant between work shifts, having decided to drive out to Hong Kong Market thinking it was not far and that this location had banh mi on Tuesdays - and wrong on both counts. We went back and forth about which baleada I should order, eventually settling on the chicken one at $4.50, and thinking from the teensy as a quinceañera dress price that this was an antojito-sized portion, also a plate of pastelitos, with suggestions to get it done muy rapido so I could return to work on time. But in three regards, I found I got far more than I bargained for, as chips with cheese-topped refried beans came as an appetizer, nearly as smooth as a chocolate mousse and richer than any Mexican brand (and she even offered a refill). Then when the baleada came out, voluminous as Selena Gomez's wardrobe and stuffed even more efficiently than your one permitted carry-on suitcase, I realized I was going to have to make like a competitive eater and bite into this mutant Frisbee of beans, chicken, and cheese. It is like the most enormous breakfast taco ever conceived of, and could serve as a full breakfast at that all by itself, the outside's crispness giving way to smoothly textured beans (again) with lightly spiced chicken a true masterwork of the not-so-bastard taco family. Then out came two glistening deep-fried pastelitos, in their Honduran edition basically like empanadas filled with squash and beef picadillo. While the crisp, reddish purple tomato cabbage slaw underpinning the turnovers, lacking the sourness of curtido but tasting fresher and more like a salad, ended up running onto the plate to soggify their bottom edges, the dough was just thick enough to keep the shape sturdy, the meat moist and the squash melting away into a fatty but comforting interior, steam billowing outward like a train engine as each bite is taken but never quite turning my tongue into a flaming candlewick. They are potentially better than the Argentine empanadas I sampled long ago, and most empanadas on menus here for that matter. As I remarked to the waitress serving me with unflappable smiles and kind-hearted care, such food is perfect for taking my mind off the world outside, itself at that moment turning into a telenovela plotline. And appropriately, once I bumped into the limits of her English comprehension, I switched the conversation into Spanish for several minutes so she could freely give me all the womanly advice she had on her mind. A "gracias" and many promises of prayers and gestures of encouragement and goodwill later, I left this unexpected angel with a huge tip and a promise to return, wishing I could stay longer but feeling the cold, hard call of reality beckon and dreading its loom over my day job. But somehow feeling like I'd get through it to the other side, as I have ever since. And showing that quick, chance encounters are sometimes the most precious and meaningful. read more

Terrible customer service. The employees didn't seem to want to be bothered with. It was my first time coming in to this restaurant, as a Honduran I was definitely exited to try this restaurant out . Needles to say once I walked in the atmosphere changed. I worked for a restaurant company for 10 years of my life with 4 of those years being a manager. Not sure who is training them. I wish I could give 0 stars but that's not possible in order to leave a review. The service here is extremely awful and the waitress are more concerned on the guys that are seated at the bar. We had to ask them to take our order because they couldn't even do that. It took them about an hour and a half to let us know that our order will be coming out "shortly". Not at all family friendly, it is more of a bar environment. The music is so loud that you have to yell over the music in order to speak to your family members/waitress. read more

It doesn't look bad to go eat there but i barely just called once because i wanted a baleada so bad and i called them and they didn't put interest in taking my order and when they did they left me on the phone without telling how much it was or how much not even if i needed anything else. And then i get there and they are all just standing around talking i let them finish talking to see if they have the curtesy to ask how can we help you and nothing what so ever. so Initiated the conversation and told them if my order was put in since i was on hold and no one let me know if they did. They proceded to ignore me and only one answer with a sass saying yea and giving me a bad look. And that's okay when i just left if they don't want my money I'll take it elsewhere and make sure to let everyone know what type of customer service they carry. I was so hungry and wanted a baleada so bad but was not having it with there attitude. 100% don't recommend this place if they want to be treated with respect and feel acknowledged. And will be posting this on every other rating site because that was just disrespectful and disappointing. It's a shame when being a black man means that your looked past based on not speaking Spanish. On November 23rd, 2021, I went to get tacos, my heart's desire, only to be discriminated against by a Spanish woman at this restaurant on Veterans Memorial. It started as I ordered. I asked for the number 10 she said I don't speak English, only Spanish. Remembering in Spanish class, I said "Diez" to relate to getting my food. She stares at me, annoyed, points to The Man behind me, and starts to speak Spanish, taking his order. So I turned to him and asked him to translate what I wanted to order since he clearly had her attention. Surprisingly it worked. Thank God! I appreciate that moment that somebody thought I was human. I want to challenge this company's multiple locations on their bias on individuals as human beings. My dollars are the same as the man's dollars behind me are in the story. We all deserve good tacos; hands down, make sure every race can taste your tacos no matter the language. I will be praying for you guys. God bless Jesus loves you. read more
