He ordered the carne asada and I ordered a fried chicken dish with plantains (I've had at other Honduran restaurants but can't remember the name). Mi Bella Honduras made my dish very well - the portion was large and I liked that the chicken was on top of the plantains to capture all the flavor. I like their preparation for these plates, a bed of tajadas(fried savory plantain) with shredded cabbage/pickled onions and topped with protein. My plate would've been perfect if the base had more salsa with the tajadas and the chuletas were overcooked for my liking but still enjoyable. It's a cute little cheap Honduran restaurant in the heart of a mini-Vietnamese Town, in the same Plaza as the Hong Kong Supermarket and Bambu and iBubble. Featuring Honduran Specialties and other Central American Delights. Autocorrect changed the name of the place to Balleaters, I was like no, that'd be mine and Barbie's place. There aren't enough Baleadas shops in the world and this kind of Honduran food is spectacular and totally delicious - so make sure you swing by and give it a try when you're down here, because we did and we were absolutely thrilled by it. Can't believe this place hasn't got more attention. It's one of about five or six amazing Honduran places we've eaten at in Houston so far. There's also a lot of great Salvadoran and Guatemalan places in these parts, not to mention Mexican. But try this, and see for yourself.
