Found this hidden treasure in a strip mall behind walmart on 190. First time visit and wow everything was delicious! They started out by giving us a gift from the kitchen: sweet plantains with crema for dipping. Never had them like that and we are now fans! The four of us each ordered a different dish and all of them were so flavorful. The Honduran tacos, the Carne Asada (steak) chimichurri tacos, a Honduran breakfast quesadilla (bfast served all day) and the best Cuban sandwich we've had. All the meats were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The tortillas were housemade. They def know what they're doing in that kitchen! Going back next week to try more dishes! This is a very casual place. I got the pescado entomatado with a side of plaintains... it was all delicious! Not much else to say!

We've eaten here several times, and each has been a winner. My all time fav is the catrachitas $5.50. Today we had the honduran chicken $3 (which was authentic, but average, the filling was heavy on masa, with few potatoes and only 1 olive). However, I ordered the Tajada con carne molida.$8.50 It is plantains topped with ground beef & potatoes in gravy, topped with cabbage, shredded chicken, salsa, pickled jalapeno, pickled onions, and fresca cheese. OMG - the layers of flavor - ABSOLUTELY delicious !!!!! Local, family owned, on the street behind Home Depot. Very reasonable prices. Good service. All dishes are made from scratch. Good for families or singles. Lots of TVs - usually tuned to soccer. They also serve BREAKFAST and make tripe soup on weekends. read more

The food, coffee, and atmosphere here are amazing. I've been here several times for breakfast and dinner -- the food is always cooked to order with fresh ingredients. Since it's cooked to order, it does take a little while, but they do recommend you order in advance to avoid the wait. Everything we tried was so tasty and delicious!! Four of us shared the following for dinner and were happily full: Plantains, Tamales Hondurenos (chicken), Pastelitos Honduras, Tacos Honduras, Tacos Chimmichurros, and Papusa. Teenage girls were tired and cranky. Thank goodness we used Yelp! Found this place super close to the hotel and based on the reviews decided to try. It was OUTSTANDING food! Get the tamales (pork)- they are different than the Mexican variety and large. Best $3 spent ever! We also had some type of fried meat pie with ground beef in it. This was my order and my daughter insisted I put it i the middle of the table and everyone tried it- vanished in seconds! One daughter ordered a chicken dish that appeared to be a pan fried breast that was seasoned exceptionally well and she adored it. My other daughter ordered a salad that came out steaming from the freshly prepared egg and bacon, and she loved it. My husband got the fried chicken- it was good, but he regretted not ordering something more authentically Honduran from the menu given how delicious everything was. We also had an order of what appeared to be tostadas and they were terrific too. Overall, freshly prepared food that was seasoned amazingly well and nicely presented. The restaurant is located in a strip mall behind a Home Depot. The place was surprisingly decorated, modern, super clean, etc and not something you would expect in a strip mall. The waitress spoke only a little English, so we ended up pointing a bit to the menu for our order. The only caveat is that the food came out in shifts, instead of grouped together like a typical restaurant. We didn't mind this at all as we all ended up eating each dish to try anyway, and it ensured everything was fresh off the grill or fryer. We truly wish this place was near where we live back home! I did see a different review that mentioned it was very slow and that at the time the place was about 3/4 full. When we were there we were the only customers, but perhaps if busier service could be an issue? Prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of food served. Most everything is $10 or less. For those of you that said the food was bland, it unfortunately demonstrates your lack of travel and experience with the foods of the world. Louisiana and Mexico are the few places were most foods have spice to them. There are very few countries that put chili powder on watermelon or in lollipops. Honduras doesn't need to add spice to their food. The baleada sencilla tasted authentic with the mantequilla, queso seco and red beans (not to be confused with kidney beans). The tamale is very much authentic to Honduras. Most US citizens only see the Mexican style. The bottle of hot sauce tastes similar because they both use tabasco peppers. It was nice to be reminded of some great experiences. read more

We had the cuban sandwich and tacos. The cuban was a little different from traditonal, but good. The tacos were suppose to be with the chimichurri sauce, but they brought another sauce. Tacos and tortillas were good with the bottled hot sauce. We had eaten there before and tried the tamales. They were good and bigger than we expected. The price is very affordable. read more

The experience was great and the food was over the top. Liked the un carbonated drinks like cashew and passion fruit.. Presentation of food was excellent. The staff went above and beyond over there service and making sure you leave happy. The place was clean and the booths and chairs are comfortable...can't wait to use the drive thru. This is a very clean and very quiet place in an uassuming shopping strip on the North Shore. My boyfriend ordered the enchiladas, which came on two, small round homemade tortillas. Not what we expected enchilidas to look like but they were very good, had a tex-mex flavor and piled high with cabbage and chimichurra sauce. I had the Cuban sandwich, which was close, but not the traditional Cuban sandwich I am used to. It had the pork, ham, pickle, provolone and crispy bread but it was very dry...once I added some mustard to it, it was good. Dinner for two was just $20 and we didn't have to wait long at all for it. It was our first experience with Honduran food. We liked it enough to return another time and try out some other things on their menu. Their breakfast looks good. They also serve natural drinks llike Horchata, a rice drink, and a cashew drink. Cabbage, yuca and plaintain based recipes are predominate on the menu. I'm a native of Honduras and the food has many flaws. Sopa de Caracol was terrible. The caracol was hard and chewy and undercooked. The tortillas are terrible, thin and thck not evenly proportioned. The "baleadas con todo", the meat has no flavor, and they leave out one important ingredient in Honduran cuisine, the avocado! The decor is beautiful and modern. The ambient is friendly and uplifting. Their staff is courteous and professional. Just needs to get some good cooks that know how to cook Honduran food. read more

Locally owned & family operated. A very cozy spot just off the beaten path that just so happens to be one of the many hidden gems you will find in South Louisiana. One common misconception is that all Latin American cuisine is created equally yet that can be nothing further from the truth. I had the pleasure of eating Honduran food for the first time in my life & I will have to say I am hooked. The best way to describe different subcultures of the same ethnicity is that the cuisine is regional & the recipes have been passed down through the family for many generations. Honduran food is not spicy in terms of heat like you would normally expect. It is a symphony of flavors that that compliment each other. Traditional Latin American ingredients prepared the only way they know how, with love. The restaurant was very comfortable, clean, & peaceful. The service & food was excellent. I've gotten several dishes here and they have all been excellent. The Chuleta Frita (fried pork chop) was the best pork chop I have had in my life. The Pastelitos Hondureños (beef empanadas) were amazing and a great deal for how much food you get. The fried chicken is wonderful; crispy, crunchy, and well seasoned.
