I walked in with a suitcase that would not unlock. The team jumped in to help me and took at least 20 minutes of time to try to pick the lock. They tried everything, including watching a couple YouTube videos to help me out. Though they were not able to pick the lock, they gave me the idea to go to the Boise Airport have TSA open it. We lost our keys and key fob to our truck and needed replacements. I called Baldwin and it went to vmail so I decided I would call someone else. It was Saturday and I figured this is going to be a chore. Before I even had a chance to look for another locksmith, Tim called me back saying he was sorry but missed my call. I told him the situation and he gave me a basic quote and said he would run by the shop and be there within two hours. He also said he would call when he was on his way. Well, he did call and it was less than an hour and a half and he was at the house. The job was more difficult than we had thought and he spent about 2 &1/2 hours in the heat working. He was courteous, explained everything and never got upset. Plus the final price was still right about what he said it would be, which was amazing to me. The employee messed up my car door. He spent 45 minutes trying to unlock my car after I had locked my keys inside. (I've done it in the past and never has it taken 45 minutes) since my car door was forced open for so long it had permanently been dented open, maybe 1/2 an inch open. (Water falls through the crack, and you can hear the wind blowing while driving) I have been trying to get a hold of the owner multiple times to talk about getting it fixed but no response. read more

They came out and replaced 3 door locks and added two dead bolts, provided all the locks and was fairly fast. The price was very good to for providing all the locks. I now have brand new locks on all my doors and deadbolts which they didn't have before. Will be calling again to get new knobs with locks on inside doors. read more

Review for an Auto lockout: These guys were super fast, arriving within minutes to help me out in the north end. They are nice and so, so fast with lockout service, but the price seemed a little high to me. If you're in a real pinch like I was you should call them to see if there's someone available! read more

Today I finally Locked my keys in my car but luckily I was right next to Baldwin Key, they got it opened in 5 min and ended up waiving the charge because I was so close. Very disappointed, awful service! I called Baldwin to help me get into my house because I had locked myself out. They came in about 25 minutes, but the employee had either forgotten the lock gun or his wasn't working, so he had to try to rig my door lock manually, with what looked like two hair pins. The process usually takes 5 minutes (as verified by him) so you would think after 15-20 minutes, he would call a coworker for reinforcement. I suggested he call a coworker, and he nodded but didn't call anybody. He proceeded to continue to try to open my door for an hour. I had my 2-year-old son with me and time was of the essence. He was not sensitive to this. When we finally got in the house (the solution did NOT involve him actually unlocking a door!), he gave me the bill. I asked "Are you going to give me a discount since it took an hour?" and he said "I gave you a $5 discount." I couldn't believe it. A 10% discount. I also own my own business and if I delivered such terrible service, I would never charge my client. I reported my disappointment to the company via their contact form on their website, and never heard back. I just noticed that they cashed my check. What terrible customer service! read more

DO NOT GO TO BALDWIN LOCK AND KEY!!!!! WORST BUSINESS IN BOISE!!!! In my entire life, no business has ever treated me so rudely. I called ahead to find out their hours and was told "8-6 Monday through Friday". I arrived at 8:15 and although the closed sign was up, all the lights were on and there were two people inside laughing and drinking coffee. The only sign referencing their hours says "24 hour service". This is a lie. I waved at one to let him know I was there and he looked right at me then kept talking to his buddy. I then knocked and without moving a muscle the guy yells from across the room "8:30!!" and goes back to chating with his friend. It was about 26 degrees outside where I was left to stand for 15 minutes while these two jokers got to catch up on office gossip. When they did finally let me in they were immediately confrontational. Long story short, I left and will never ever darken their doorstep again. There are so many quality professional locksmiths in the Treasure Valley, do not give your money to these losers. I went to A-1 Lock and Safe and was treated very well and paid WAAAAY less than the original price quoted to me by Baldwin. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

I've also had a poor experience with the hours of operation. I needed an automotive locksmith last night, and since it was close to 9 pm, I decided to wait until the morning. I left my vehicle overnight about 7 blocks from Baldwin's location. The website says they open at 8:30 am. Assuming they get there a little early, I've been trying to schedule an appointment since 8:15. It is now 9:05 and still no answer. Really guys? Calling another locksmith now. read more
