We have a galley style kitchen and we thought that we wouldn't have to spend so much on tile materials because let's face it we don't need much. 30sf here 30sf there... I like many renovating homeowners watch HGTV like it's going out of style and well I saw a kitchen that I could just die for and it had the most beautiful tile backsplash. So I was on a mission I can have the same look, until I went to Lowes and saw that each PIECE was $20.00 ++a square foot. Um $600.00++ for a back splash I think not!!! I knew I could find this tile somewhere else so I did some research and happened to stumble upon an online wholesaler who happened to be in Southern California, (so I called) who happened to be in San Diego, who happened to be right around the corner from where I work. As I walked in to this office space I was greatly surprised by the sheer beauty of what they had to offer.. All the new and up and coming tile materials you could think of all in this showroom. The Five Elements is by far the nicest place I have been to here in San Diego I thought for sure this was going to be a spendy trip. I was WRONG they had exactly what I wanted for a phenomenal price. I ended up doing my kitchen and bathroom and now we are thinking about doing 1 more bathroom. If you are looking for innovative tile from the floor to the walls you should check this place out! Ask for Tony he was awesome! PS they always have sales it'e worth the trip trust me!

They have a great selection of timeless items that are very current. I would highly recommend stopping in and letting Christa refine your ideas. At times it gets overwhelming with so many choices but the Five Elements team is great at helping you with color palettes and styles.

Not so great: refill product quality, choices, community spirit…read moreGreat: it is still offering eco-friendly alternative I loved this place when I lived in North County and first realized that a less wasteful option was available for everyday products. I started to visit all the refill businesses in San Diego to support them. I realized that this refillery is lacking when it comes to actual refill products. It's more focused on selling high end reusable or single packed products. Other refilleries will have all of their products out on display. This place does not; there's no room, especially with all the other products they are choosing to showcase. I have gotten a foaming hand soap and lotion at this refillery which has a waxy smell and residue that I have not encountered elsewhere. It's not hugely unpleasant, just a little strange. I have also preferred the scents that I have encountered at other places. Refilleries tend to carry some of the same brands, but I have gotten foaming hand soap and lotion at other places that were different. As for community spirit, I know other locations where customers can donate clean empty containers for others to use if they forgot to bring something. This has helped me on numerous occasions when I didn't have the best container for what I wanted. I have donated new containers to other refilleries that my work was going to toss out which are ideal for refill purposes. This refillery does not offer that option, presumably because they have containers for sale. So to sum up my review, not ideal as a refillery, better options out there if you are willing to seek them. This place still offers an alternative if you are trying to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Not the best location for fitting the spirit of the eco-friendly community.

We understand that there was a change of management a couple of years ago -- perhaps previous management was the cause of some of the more negative reviews. We especially like the single level buildings (no one leaking water from above!) and the nice-sized fenced backyards. The place is super dog-friendly, with meandering walkways, poop-bag dispensers and grassy areas throughout the campus. The office manager, Cindy is friendly and very helpful. A special shout-out for the full-time on-site maintenance crew -- Bob and Sergio are well-equipped, knowledgeable and helpful -- taking care of any maintenance issues promptly upon request, far exceeding our expectations over and over.

I cleaned and left the apartment in the same condition I moved in, yet she stated I have to pay $90 for paint (your not legally required to pay for paint if its 'normal wear and tear') and $100 to pay for them cleaning the apartment (which it DID NOT state anywhere in the lease) and a $40 carpet cleaning fee. Debbie also failed to notify me that they were painting the apartment downstairs TWO DAYS in a row and I woke up both days severely ill and had to vacate the property immediately. I was never late on rent and took care of the apartment this company does very SHADY BUSINESS!
