To finalize this horrible experience I asked you this morning until what time would you be there and you responded till 5:30pm. When my friend showed up to pick up my suit and shirt at 3:30pm, you had the nerve to leave something at by now has cost me well over $700 hanging outside your shop. I took pictures and I will make sure to flood the internet, instagram, facebook and tictok of how you are steeling from your clients by not doing the work and taking payment up front. I will also let everyone know how you have no regard for your customers property. I hope you don't continue to do this to anyone. Initially promised in under three weeks, the alterations dragged on for over a month. Shockingly, the seemingly simple task of shortening the jacket sleeves proved insurmountable for them, despite multiple attempts. Paolo, the staff member assisting me, appeared indifferent to the errors and offered no viable solutions. During one visit, a staff member, dismissive of my concerns, insisted the alterations had been completed correctly, despite clear evidence to the contrary- he even said my brand new shirt must have uneven sleeves. Communication was abysmal, with no clear pickup dates provided. It was only after numerous reminders that I managed to set a deadline. For such a crucial occasion, the lack of attention to detail and customer service was utterly unacceptable. I cannot in good faith recommend this business, especially to fellow members of the military, law enforcement, or the local community, given their inability to handle even the simplest alterations with competence and professionalism. As you read the response from the vendor below, he does not apologize for the rude behavior nor does he address the mistake in the sleeve shortening they made 3x. After the first week he said almost two weeks to fix, I returned and the issue persisted, and then two more weeks to fix the mistake. This is sleeve shortening. A proper tailor would not take two weeks to make that alteration. Additionally, for a grooms tuxedo, I would think that would constitute faster/better service as it would be used for our upcoming nuptials. I stand by my one star rating for all those who read this. My criticism isn't personal, it is based on facts that the business is aware of and no customer would stand for if they received bad service as I have noted.

I am so profoundly disturbed by my experience there I had to take the time to share it with others who might be thinking of shopping there or using their dress making services. DON'T!!! Our experience was quite appalling. My daughter is getting married and we went to Rex to purchase fabric for my Mother of the Bride dress. During the fabric selection process, the salesperson explained they also make dresses and would give a discount on the fabric if you have them make your dress. When starting the process they explained we would first come for measurements, the second fitting was to try on the "shell fabric" that would be a mockup of the dress. That is the first moment we should have been concerned. We spent considerable time explaining to them the shell did not fall correctly and the seamstress clearly was struggling to figure out how to make it work. We had to offer our own suggestions and offer modifications. The owner Jenny was supervising every meeting and completely emotionally withdrawn from the situation offering no solutions or recommendations. She did not care whatsoever that we would ultimately get the dress of our dreams. She is cold and all business. The next fitting was with the actual dress and then we knew we were in trouble. It did not resemble anything like the model we shared. It looked awful and they basically told us, take it or leave it. They said we used up our three fittings and they insisted they made the dress exactly as shown. IT WAS NOTHING LIKE THE MODEL. It looked terrible and my daughter explained that I only have one daughter and how important this dress was for the wedding. They did not care. It was obviously a pure business transaction for them. They have no business offering these services as they do not have the qualified seamstresses on staff or supervision. I decided I was not going to even fight for another fitting because I had zero confidence the seamstress knew what she was doing. Long story short, we took it to someone we have come to meet who is a highly experienced dress maker and immediately she explained they completely cut the dress incorrectly. The new seamstress said, what is done is done but I will still make it beautiful and she proceeded to make modifications. We picked up the dress yesterday and it is stunning!! I am so happy this new person created a beautiful dress I will be proud and thrilled to wear at my daughter's wedding....but it also cost me more money to achieve the result Rex should have done in the first place. In closing I truly want to warn others who might be considering working with Rex for dress making services.

These individuals clearly had no idea what they were doing--a piece full of defects that was completely unwearable. I personally accompanied him back to the shop, where the son attended us. He took new measurements while a dove walked around us and once again promised it would be ready in a week. Time passed, and only after being pressured did they admit they couldn't fix the original. They claimed they had made a new one using "wonderful fabric" they had purchased again. I am fashion lover and high-quality craftsmanship, and honestly, when I saw this atrocity, I was speechless. The fabric looked old, cheap, stained, and marked, and the construction was something you would expect from a beginner in a sewing class--a complete insult to good taste and basic intelligence. These two individuals are only capable of doing basic hemming or low-quality work, not handling important garments. I used Yelp assistant to put in a request to local alterations spots and let them know I had a broken zipper off the track of a formal dress and I needed it fixed before Tuesday. This request was sent on a Saturday afternoon, so to be honest I was not very hopeful of any replies but Carolina replied right away. Her studio is right by my apartment so she told me to take my dress in right then to see if it could be fixed. She fixed the zipper on the spot, and when we actually tried on the dress we realized that I did not fit. Welcome to my nightmare. She had the brilliant idea to alter the dress and add fabric on the sides to give me the inches I needed. The result is essentially a custom dress that I am obsessed with, and at a great price. I am definitely going to keep Carolina on speed dial for any of my alterations needs as she is super sweet, detail oriented, and very well priced. Her studio is located in a blue building on Mediera and there is street parking right in front. Thank goodness for both request a quote and Carolina for saving my dress fiasco.
