Best place in Helper to eat. The atmosphere is really cool. The building was built back in 1906 as part of helpers commercial development. The restaurant opened in 2010 so has been around for some time. The people are friendly and the service was quick. I had the French dip with fries. The wife had the grilled cheese with the cheese on the outside as well. She said the grilled cheese was ok but was glad the cheese was Crispy or it would have been mushy. She had the home made chips. The French dip was really good and the fries are your greasy type which I love. The chips had a bbq spice in them so of you don't want that just tell them to leave it off.

On our way to Moab, we stopped to check out Helper. It's a cute town with a few interesting shops and galleries. Hungry for lunch, we ended up here -- literally the only place in town that was serving at the time. The restaurant is in an old building (like the rest on Main Street) with big front windows. Inside, it's large and spacious, with a wide-open area in the middle and a second-level balcony that looks down on the lower floor. Lots of history in the space. There were several other groups dining when we arrived. It was reasonably quiet and easy to have a conversation. We were greeted right away and took a small table. After getting some water, we ordered beverages and food: a BLT sandwich and the Steak Quesadilla. It took a while for our food to arrive, but the server explained there had been a mix-up and they had to remake our order. When it came out, everything was fresh and hot. The quesadilla was nicely grilled, and the steak had a lot of fat (which I like, though others may not). The BLT came on thick bread, so it was best eaten open-faced. After the food arrived, we didn't see much of our server again. There wasn't any check-in on how the food was until the bill came. Service was efficient, but not especially friendly. We also weren't told, but later discovered, that you don't pay the server -- there's a cashier at the back near the kitchen where you settle your bill. Overall, a decent lunch, but not a place I'd put on my "come back to" list.

A charming old time building with a good eatery. Portions were large and food came out quickly. Food was basic and good.

My family stopped here on our way home from Goblin Valley. The building is really old and cool looking. The bathroom is also adorable. The service was quick and attentive but not overbearing. We were all really pleased with our food. A couple of us had asked for modifications to our meals and they got all of them right. The food is a little greasy, but overall it's a really great stop while on a road trip!!

Spanish Omelette and scone

Great place to eat! Wonderful food and great people. Large portions and the scone was amazing.

Split the three egg breakfast with home fries, bacon, and a pancake.

This place never fails to impress! We decided to split the 3 egg breakfast with home fries and a pancake. It was still huge! For whatever reason, the home fries were seriously EPIC. I don't know what it was, but with the seasoning they had on them and some fry sauce, I was in heaven. Always our forever breakfast place.

Cute downtown area with lots of ambience! The servers were fun and upbeat. The place was not busy, but we were there between lunch and dinner. Quaint lunch place, basic sammys with a twist like pineapple jelly or served on a bagel. Plenty of options. I recommend!

The food was very good, loved our waitress. The pancakes were super fluffy and big. My husband had the omelet "it's in there" and the scone was like a fried donut/fry bread. After we ate we walked the town. So many great photo ops and cute stores. The people were super friendly.

Anasazi grilled sandwich and rock chips and a terrific Arnold Palmer.

We are there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and it was almost full. Despite that fact, the energy was chill and we were quickly given drinks --btw the BEST Arnold Palmer I've had in a very long time --- and our order taken. I had just enough time to admire the gorgeous greenery and art on the second floor 'catwalk' and then our food arrived. I ordered the Anasazi grilled sandwich And the rock chips. Rock chips are absolutely fabulous potato chips, toasted to perfection. My sandwich was amazing! The cheese was melted, the chili's spicy but not overwhelming and the turkey was roasted as well..My husband ordered the patty melt and fries. He gave it a big thumbs up! I one hundred percent recommend this eatery while you're visiting canyonlands or the carbon corridor!!

Wow! This place is excellent. The atmosphere is like being in an old general store. I highly recommend the beef stroganoff sandwich with rock chips. The service was excellent.

Not a fan of the customer service. They don't treat everyone the same. The food is ok.

Really good food. Epic, shareable portions. We left more than we ate. The service was a bit "cold" but the food was hot and delicious.

One of the worst meals I've ever had. And for the price its a joke. Change the oil in your fryer sometimes.

We had our IDs scanned and briefly used the restroom before heading to a table had to piss and wash our hands. A few minutes later, the staff abruptly told us we would not be served and had to leave without explanation. We sat there confused and were threatened with police involvement. Only after pressing for an answer were we told it was "suspicious" that we went straight to the restroom and were "touching our noses," implying drug use. It was 34 degrees outside we had just walked over, our noses were running, and one of us blew his nose. That was the entire "evidence." We were the only customers in the establishment, were polite, sober, and never given a chance to order food or drinks. Instead, we were followed, accused, and escorted out into the cold. Based on the way we were treated and consistent with other reviews about this place we feel we were racially discriminated. Both staff members involved were white; all three of us are Latin American U.S. citizens. For context, we are working professionals: I run a consulting agency, my friend manages business developers for a major company in Salt Lake City, and my brother-in-law is a registered nurse who supervises and trains other nurses. We came in to eat and talk, not to be accused of criminal behavior. Management should seriously review the conduct and judgment of the staff working that night. This experience was inappropriate, humiliating, and unacceptable.
