Anna at the front gave me a written treatment plan instantly at the completion of the first visit, then explained my payment options. Dental work is never fun, of course, but Dr. Gomes made sure I was not feeling any discomfort before starting the work. And she took the time to carefully explain both the procedure and my options, as well as follow-up and aftercare. The dental assistant. Cathy, was knowledgeable and helpful as well. She explained the paperwork and prep, and got me ready for the procedures, then did her part to assist Dr. Gomes. She also helped by reminding me to relax and breathe during the work, since I sometimes get nervous and tense up. It sounds like a small thing, but it shows she was paying attention to my status as well as the doctor's instructions, and finding ways to make things go more smoothly. Dr. Gomes even called me personally the night after my morning procedure, to check on me. She didn't just tell me to call her if I had problems. She contacted me to find out how I was doing, firsthand. I haven't had a dentist do that before, but I later found out that Dr. Gomes does that for every patient who has an extraction. Overall, I feel like I got and am getting the best possible dental care I can get from Dr Gomes and her staff. And I also feel like I got that for a fair and reasonable price. I was told by another patient that they will charge you the rates insurance companies pay if you are poor, but I haven't asked for that myself since I may not be poor enough. If you are poor, it is worth asking (you should speak to your dentist, not the secretaries at the front desk). A friend of mine who was poor was allowed to pay in installments. You can see my difficulty in rating this practice -- it has standard fees which are way too high, but they are willing to offer discounts. How does one rate that? My four-star rating is based on my estimate of the quality of their work. The dental assistants do a great job of cleaning teeth, but the price for a cleaning is now $120. But it takes only 35 minutes to clean your teeth, for which the dental technician is paid about $30 (including benefits), so is that a fair price? It seems to me that if a dental technician is doing it and not the dentist, it should cost less.

It's possible that individual was there and has since left. That being said, I know that Dr. Eager's name is on the business. I am a Quality Assurance professional. If any patient is unhappy with how he or she has been treated at any medical office, ask to speak to the top person. Dr. Eager goes out of her way to ensure that my visits are pain-free. I'm sorry for this gentleman's experience. We're all human, even medical professionals. Bad apples exist everywhere. If you're in pain, ask to speak with Dr. Eager. From a QA perspective, Management needs to know if employees are not meeting patients' needs. There are at least three reasons for this: 1.) The patient needs further care. 2.) There may have been other complaints against the individual. Let the business know because the more reports, the more accurate the picture is of what is going on. 3.) The office cannot take action nor respond if it doesn't know a situation exists.
