The good first: the staff can be nice. The other issues: the facilities, in general, are a bit shabby. Procedure rooms are also used for storage, and the chairs and equipment seem like they've seen a lot of use and were maybe salvaged from somewhere else. The service is, more or less, fine, but there is a sense of it being an assembly line: procedures tend to feel more rushed and uncomfortable, they really just want to get you in and out. Finally: do your research about Aspen Dental. Look at the allegations against their business model, their history of controversies, etc. They will try to upsell you on everything. You will be sat at a Payment Desk like at a car dealership, they will hit you with a flurry of paperwork and unnecessary charges and, in the chair, they may try to convince you your entire mouth needs replacing. They are scammers. I got my wisdom teeth taken out last year. I paid 1200 upfront because they said I had to so I could schedule the surgery. The day of they called and texted me 7 times and said they actually needed another 700! From me or they'd cancel the surgery and I wouldn't get a full refund. I obviously went and paid to get it done. Now they are harassing me sending debt collectors after me saying I owe another 600. They are super shady and I wouldn't trust them to give me a free tooth brush. Go anywhere else! read more

Though the majority of the staff were pleasant the office manager was a pariah. they use scare tactics to talk patients into unnecessary treatments like deep cleanings, medicated toothpaste, and high end mouth guards. They also offer low income patients dental credit. fully aware these individuals won't be able to pay. I think they primarily stay in business because certain health insurance plans mandate that you use them. I wouldn't recommend this location or company to anyone unfortunately. read more

simply will not call back to answer a follow up question after two teeth extracted. very efficient getting my money, not so much just answering a 5 minute question. called 4 times over 3 days, they just don't return the call. I normally do not write reviews but I felt it necessary to write one from my experience with this dental office I have been a couple times and I would have to say the staff is extremely unprofessional one particular staff member had her phone air buds in her ear the whole visit having conversations arguing swearing extremely distracted and unprofessional she used vulgar racist terms and I could not wait to get out of there it was extremely uncomfortable. As far as Aspen goes they have great deals and prices I will find a more professional office for my next visit. Stay far away from this mess. I was in excruciating pain and the call center never communicated the appt I made to the local office. Despite it being Aspen's fault the refused to see me! I spoke to a Natalie and when i told the office this, they said "we have over 150 people working here, and I have no idea who natalie is" . How nasty. I finally went to another of their office locations and was forced to wait more than a week to see a specialist for an extraction. Impossible to wait 10 days when your're in pain! I had tooth pain and did not want to go to my usual dentist so I gave Aspen a try. I agree with the other reviewer that they try and sell you all kinds of stuff. I agreed to have my teeth deep cleaned. They wanted to pull a wisdom tooth that is fine in my mouth, and a couple of cavities, they gave me financing but I am having them remove lots of the charges for stuff I do not want done like the wisdom and the cavities. They are friendly and not as painful as my usual dentist which is a plus. read more

Waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time and still not in back yet. Front office staff not helpful and rude. Trying to pacify me with "I'm sorry" instead of working toward a solution. If I could rate this place lower than one star, I would. I called to make an appointment for a cleaning, seemingly easy enough. Three phone calls later and I realized I was wrong about it being easy but still I persevered. When I got there today for my "cleaning" I was brought back for my "x-rays", I told them that I don't want x-rays as I had only had some done at a different dentist about 6 months ago and I really only wanted a cleaning today. I was told that x-rays are required every "6 months to 1 year" which I know to be false (later a much nicer woman corrected the other employees that it is every 3 to 5 years that you need x-rays.) I questioned the "x-rays are required every 6 months to 1 year" statement many times adding that "that would be a lot of radiation exposure for patients" to which a know-it-all employee told me that "that the sun exposes you to more radiation than x-rays". I also know this to be untrue. Unbeknownst to this employee, I wasn't just gambling on the possibility, I have a background in biochemistry. She then proceeded to tell me that the statement was true, three times, needing to have the last word every time. Fast forward a bit, I asked the aforementioned rude employee to clean the chin rest on the x-ray machine as it appeared dirty. She stormed off saying "I cant, I can't .. I have to switch with you" to another woman, who was very very nice and understanding. She didn't mind cleaning the chin rest (even if it was unnecessary or extra.) In summary: I called to make an appointment for a cleaning, and didn't get a cleaning. Don't be rude to your customers. P.S. I would make sure that your x-ray techs are at least minimally knowledgeable about x-rays. read more

I'd like to put 0 stars but that is not an option. I was forced into coming here by my insurance plan (what a scam). They saw me for an initial consultation (at a dentists office??) and told me I had a mouthful of cavities. I hadn't been to the dentist for a year or two, but I do take care of my mouth and I wasn't buying it. Because I was trapped with no where else to go because of my insurance plan, I made an appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed as I already knew that was necessary. On the day of my appointment, I had fasted, left work early, and found a ride to/from Aspen, when I walked in for my appointment, the B at the reception desk told me that I did not have an appointment (nor did I have an appointment for the surgery at all) and pretty much told me that I was an idiot and that it was my fault for coming in when I didn't have an appointment. Her level of rudeness was unbelievable and pushed me to a level that I'm not proud of. I can be sure of two things, every single customer in the waiting area knew how I felt about that place and that I shall NOT return, ever. Ridiculous. On a side note, after I switched my insurance and found a new dentist they confirmed that I did NOT have a mouthful of cavities. Told me I had gum disease without any symptoms, 5 cavities and need a deep cleaning done at a mere $1900 that wasn't covered by my insurance. Tried to sell me a $200 toothbrush on top of it all. I haven't had a cavity since I was like 12. Went for a second opinion at a regular dentist office. Surprise surprise, zero (0) cavities and got my regular cleaning done. Scammers! This was one of my first stops after I gave up on Resnevic Dental who caused me a vertical root fracture. Advertised as "free exam and xray for new patients" and I explained on the phone that I had been in agony for quite some time and wanted my tooth out. This was not the closest office but I was told it was the only one that had time to actually see me and extract my tooth that very same day. They did nothing for me yet I keep getting billed 200+ bucks for a panorex that I wasn't even given a copy of and my exam consisted of biting on a stick even though I said it hurt. Sent away in agony with an undiagnosed vertical root fracture. Aspen refused to extract it and when I told them I had been taking 12 advil and 6 Tylenol per day for 3 months with no relief they prescribed me Advil. If you want me to pay for the xray then give it to me. Otherwise you know what you can do with your stick, and the bill for it too read more

All my tooth pain started a week ago, I contacted my local dentist who I usually deal with and it just so happen that he was unable to see me until next month....,I even expressed the severity of the pain I was dealing with.. I called x6 places with no luck for a appointment any sooner than his..The pain was so sever that I started using lots of pain Meds to deal with this... my girlfriend saw how serious this pain has become and looked up emergency dentist and thank god aspen dental showed up... She made a call to aspen dental and they took me in for free within the hour. I had a free examination, free X-rays and free advise from the doctor. It's was a bad infection with my wisdom. tooth. They placed me on a med and scheduled me for a appointment the very next morning... I was scared but I went. The staff was great and the doctor was Amazon..She did the oral surgery and Idid not feel a thing.. she talked me threw the whole process and it brought my nerves from 100-0 SHE explained step by step what she was doing and it was the best surgery I ever experienced... If the rating scale offered negative stars, mine would be a negative 4 star! I had an appt at this office (Seekonk, MA) in Feb 2019. With flames coming out of my head after the visit, I heeded my own advice and waited a while to calm down before posting this review. We had recently moved from PA to RI, and when the time came for a dental checkup, I called this office for an appt. I was fully expecting the the technicians to tell me I must have full mouth x-rays, bite wings and complete gum disease check, before I could get a cleaning and polish. and I was ok with that, and perfectly willing to pay for these services out of pocket. When making the appt however, to my surprise they told me all those services would be free. My BUYER BEWARE instinct immediately kicked in and was curious to know what strings were attached. I knew my teeth and gums were in excellent condition, (never any bleeding nor sensitivity when brushing my teeth) and as the hygienist poked and prodded my gums, the same was true. But they insisted their measurements indicated my gums were inflamed and I needed a deep cleaning ($780 out of pocket) before they could proceed with anything else. So even a routine cleaning and polish was out of the question according to them, which was the main reason I scheduled the appt in the first place. I am a senior with no dental insurance but was perfectly willing to pay for the preliminaries. But $780 out of pocket was not an option I could live with. They told me they could lose their license if they did a routine cleaning, even though I offered to sign a waiver of some sort alleviating them of any liability. But still, their answer was "no". Four months later, I am still in need of a cleaning - a simple but important preventative dental care process, BUT THEY OFFERED ME NO OTHER OPTIONS I truly felt like I was being extorted: - "Unless I pay them $780 for an expensive procedure which I didn't want, they would not offer me any more help" I'm surprised that the ADA or some other governing body hasn't reprimanded them, cited them for questionable practices, or better yet, shut them down altogether. read more

While the administrative staff and hygienists are great, I have been consistently disappointed with the dentists and endodontists and their lack of follow-up and follow-through to ensure good continuity of care. I recently had a tooth infection and abscess; and trying to get to the source of the problem has been one of my most challenging experiences with the health care system. From pain management following the initial diagnosis of the infection, to navigating getting a CT scan (that was recommended by the endodontist and NOT covered by my insurance) to trying to get a diagnosis for the cause of the original problem each step has left me with few to no answers from the "professional" staff. While this office does the basic stuff (e.g. cleaning) very well, I would not trust them with anything more complicated than that. read more

I ditched them because, one day, this summer, I needed a receipt to provide my insurance and they said they couldn't email it for privacy reasons, so I left work early to get it before they closed. I called them, so they KNEW I was coming. They had their doors locked before closing hours and, when I called, they flat out hung up on me. I went in not knowing what to expect because it's located in a shopping area, but everyone was very professional and explained everything that they were doing. I hadn't been to a dentist in a long time so I expected to get some attitude, but that didn't happen at all. The staff were very supportive and positive. They were much more focused on what they could do to help me, and I appreciated that very much. Whether its over the phone, or in person, the attitude the front desk had was extremely unprofessional. She seems like she doesn't care and will do anything to finish her conversation with you. I will never go here ever again and I will tell everyone I know not step foot in this place. At my husband's first appointment we walked in and the woman at the front desk told us the dentist us running late and that it would be a 45 minute wait. So we waited and about 20 minutes. Then the woman from the front desk calls my husband up to the front to tell us that their computer systems were down. She gave us the option to reschedule or to see the dentist but they could not be able to take x-rays. We decided to go with the latter. The dentist examined him and was nice and gentle. The dentist answered all of my husbands questions and didn't seem rushed. He then prescribed him some medicine and it was done. The next day we had to come back to get the actual xrays. Dental xrays are always uncomfortable so that's understandable. The same dentist came in and did a more thorough exam, didn't take too long but answered all of my husbands questions. My husband needed an extraction of his last back tooth. We finished the exam and proceed to the desk to find out how much it would be to take out his tooth. We asked if we needed to pay now or later she responded with "Yes you have to pay now because if the surgeon sees that a patient hasn't paid he won't even see you." Great surgeon you got there. However we appreciated her honesty. My husband asked more questions exactly about novacaine and laughing gas. She reassured us that it's standard to get both as did the dentist. The day of the extraction I was told I couldn't go back with my husband while he was getting numbed up. That should've been my first instinct just to leave. So he goes back with the surgeon and not even 15 minutes later he comes out with tears down his face and he looked like he was in major pain. -His account of the appointment- "So I was brought back to the exam room, the doctor came in and he injected me with me about 4 shots of Novacaine which hurt a little bit but that was expected. I never received the gas like I was told was apart of this typical procedure. He left for maybe 5 minutes to let my face numb up a little bit when he came back he asked "How are you doing?" I said "I'm not sure if it's numb all the way." He says "OK let me test it." So he stuck another needle in there and give me another shot in the gums and then right away he put the chair back and went to work. As soon as he started pulling I already felt pain. He says "Really! you felt that?" He made me feel really bad about myself like it was inconvenient to him. I said "Yes. I do." So he injected me again and I still felt pain not the typical pulling. He was getting frustrated with me. Then after a while he said "All that's just noise there's is nothing I can do about that." and then he says "Sir you need to stop screaming and fidgeting!" I was in pain, how was I supposed to be? He finally finished, he wrote me the script for pain but nothing else I was hoping for something that would prevent infection also. There wasn't really any explaination about post care. I felt rushed out of the office after that." This guy sounded rushed and inconvenienced by my husband and his pain. The comments that were made were extremely unprofessional and shocking to us. He wasn't concerned with making his patient comfortable at all. There was no beside manner that Aspen Dental "prides" themselves on. Nothing from this surgeon that reassured my husband. This is a quote from Aspen Dental's website.. "Aspen Dental practices are committed to treating patients with the compassion and respect they deserve. The practices believe in providing comprehensive care that addresses both your short- and long-term dental care needs, and promise to provide an honest, judgment-free environment where it all comes down to great care." My experience has been the same as so many other customers that have posted about this location and many other Aspen Dental locations. First visit, could not get a cleaning, only x-rays and "examination." After my examination, they sat me down with the office manager (who is not a dentist and has no dental knowledge) and he proceeds to hand me an invoice for $3000 worth of work that I must have. They made no effort to explain any of the details with me and I told them I had to think about it. After reading all the negative reviews, I decided I was going to cut my losses, just get the basic cleaning that was covered by my insurance, then go find a proper dentist that I could trust. I scheduled the cleaning and when I arrived for the cleaning, they told me that they would not do the basic cleaning because I needed a "deep cleaning" and they refused to clean my teeth. This blew me away. After getting more information from one of the employees, I found out that not only did they want to change me $3000 dollars for this "deep clean" but I was going to have to do it over the course of 3 visits!!! Are you kidding me??? And on top of that, I was going to have to come back every 3 months for 1 year for "gum maintenance" visits. And then maybe, just maybe, they would let me start getting regular cleaning again. Since my experience, I've gone to another dentist, got my cleaning and was treated much more respectfully. I'm so disappointed that there are businesses out there like this that take advantage of people. If you plan to use Aspen Dental, I would go in prepared to be sold on services you don't need and hopefully they'll let you get your teeth cleaned... but I doubt it. read more

I had only recently moved to the area and my tooth broke. Being that it was a holiday weekend, I had a really hard time getting anyone to pick up the phone. Aspen Dental was there for me! The call center, reception, xray tech, hygienist, and doctor were all very professional and helpful, explaining the process and what my options were every step of the way. At no time did anyone try to sell me anything. I ended up returning for a replaced filling and cap over the damage. There was 0 pain during the process and I was glad to be told they do not use mercury fillings. My experience was so positive, I am returning for my regular teeth cleaning in a few weeks. read more

I made an emergency appointment for some tooth pain I was having. I went in and had x-rays done then sat in the chair with the hygienist. She told me that I needed a deep cleaning done and that I have periodontal disease. When the dentist came in he told me I had 10 cavities. 10 minutes later I am sat down with someone who showed me a bill for $5000 worth of dental work. This included a deep cleaning the filling for 10 cavities and a fancy $200 tooth brush. Nothing was done or said about the reason why I went there in the first place. I immediately made an appointment for a second opinion and to be seen about my tooth ache. I got a regular cleaning done and I was told I don't have periodontal disease and I had only 3 cavities. I called Aspen to get my x-rays that I paid for and they wouldn't fax or email them to me they said they would overnight deliver them to me and I'm yet to receive them. Today I came home from work and I had 2 letters from Aspen in the mail. One was a laughable 20%off coupon and the other was a bill for I'm not sure what exactly maybe for making me uncomfortable or wasting my time. Soo completely discusted. While I was in the waiting room there was an older women who was there to pick up her dentures and they were telling her she needed another fitting done.
