The freshly baked bread aroma traveled towards me as the door swung opened. FRESH FRESH FRESH! Their store front is small, but they offer just the right amount of selections so that you can easily decide what to order, not too overwhelming. You can purchas everything from daily baked goodies, prepacked biscuits, frozen goods, and drinks. Of all the items we brought, I highly recommend three specific items from this visit: 1. Za'atar Manakeesh (Thyme bread)- looks like a flat bread roll topped with pesto sauce and seasame seeds, except the spice blend spread are usually comprised of sumac, thyme, and sesame seeds, the perfect blend. Now, knowing how delicious this is, I will definitely order their egg sandwich next time, which can be described like an egg salad tossed with their secret thyme sauce. 2. Fatayer bi Sabenekh (Spinach pie)- if you love pickled veggies, you may want to give this a try. You will recieve seasoned sour spinach stuffed in fluffy bread shaped into a triangle. 3. Ka'ek Al-Quds (sesame seed bread)- This is a large oval ring shaped bread, and would pair well with dips. It reminds me of a simit, except much softer. The packaging method could use some improvements. Our selections were bagged up in white paper bags, and it was crushed to the point where some of the grease was soaking through the the bags by the time we got home. Also, we didn't get a box for our cheese pie, even thought we saw customer ahead of us with a cardboard box, which is critical in protecting the cheese pie from getting crushed.

Great bakery for authentic Palestinian food. You truly feel like you're overseas. They make the best bread on the block "ka'ki" There sandwiches are fantastic and everything is always so fresh! If you haven't tried this bakery highly recommend it!!!

    Great food from Baladna Bakery!

Tried Baladna Bakery earlier today. The falafel sandwich with hummus was delicious!! The bread was perfect, the falafel was so fresh, and the tomatoes and pickles rounded the sandwich out nicely. We also grabbed a few of the other items. Thyme pie, meat stuffed pastry, lahmacun, cheese stuffed pastry were all excellent. Baladna Bakery is a great place to get a quick meal!

Hands down the best falafel sandwich I have ever had (shhh, don't tell my mom or the old Jerusalem stand that!).

My uncle brought me in today because he swears by this place and gets excited to go before work each day. As soon as you walk in the smell and the aroma immediately smacks you in the face. I went here last year around Thanksgiving as I have been a big fan of this bakery for many years. I actually drive almost 30 minutes for treats to bring my family for the holidays. It was busy when I went in and a I waited in line for my turn. Once the man in front of me ordered, and the young blonde girl behind the counter called next, I went to place my order and the man in front of me mistakenly thought he could have her do the rest of his order. I still tried to get her attention, but she refused to even look at me. Here I will note that I look very different from the other patrons in the bakery at the time... take that for what it's worth. The other workers saw this happening, and didnt acknowledge how I was being ignored by this girl. The middle aged woman who works there, who I have bought from for years, then went to help the person after me... what kind of service is that? The crazy thing is the man in front of me even apologized for what he did because he was confused by what was going on, and the middle aged women STILL DID NOT HELP ME. I always thought she was a manager or owner... perhaps she doesn't like people with my skin color. Who knows. Finally, after an upsetting amount of time where I was feeling humiliated, a brown haired girl (with absolutely great eye makeup said she would help me). Good to know one decent person works there. I used to go there regularly when I worked in the area and stopped going as often, but I will never go again and have stopped recommending it to others. For the area, there are plenty of bakeries without people like this blonde girl, who would love to have a diverse group clientele who doesn't look just like them :) Avoid this place if you don't want to be treated like a second class citizen. The way I was treated was disgusting and shameful.

They also have a chocolate shop next door. When I walked inside of the bakery, I felt transported to a pastry shop in France. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was super busy. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered a latte and a scone. The scone was very delicious and fresh. My boyfriend ordered a frozen hot chocolate and a chocolate éclair. I tried a bit of the éclair and we both agreed that it was the star of the show. I normally am not a big éclair person but this one was so chocolatey and rich. It was filled with this creamy, fresh chocolate filling. I strongly dislike the store bought cream filling that they are usually piped with. We sat at one of the little tables on the sidewalk outside since the weather was nice. I will be back if I am in the area and in the mood for a sweet treat!

We snagged one as people were getting up. I got a napoleon and another dessert that was chocolate mouse with Carmel and a biscuit cookie on the bottom. It was soo good. Really fluffy but also creamy and rich. Highly recommend this place if you love chocolate! I spent near $30 for a small hot chocolate, a cookie, pastry and mini cake. So it is expensive! But worth it once in a while. And they have a bathroom in the back!
