As a young kid from Louisiana, one of the first things I missed was the culture, flavor, and sweet treats that reminded me of home in New Orleans. Back then, my teammates used to tease me relentlessly about being the "fat rookie from Louisiana" because I was always chasing pralines, cookies, pastries, and every sugary delight imaginable. Not long after arriving, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that instantly made me feel at home -- Lyndhurst Pastry Shop. This led me to "SACKING" tons of NFC QB's over the years. From day one, Paulette, Jerry, her father, and the entire staff have treated me like family. Decades later, they are still absolutely knocking it out of the park. Whether it's their incredible Italian ice, authentic cannoli, specialty cookies, or my personal weakness -- their unbelievable apple rings -- this place never disappoints. Truth be told, I can't stop there without bringing one home for my wife. Some places serve food. Others serve memories, tradition, and comfort. Lyndhurst Pastry Shop has done that for me for over 40 years. A true North Jersey institution. Five stars isn't enough -- if I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. Leonard A. I ordered the Christmas Honey balls ($19.95) and the Fudge Layer Cake ($29.50) and while I disagree with the credit card fee being passed to the consumer, the quality of the product exceeds that cost. Inside the venue is a true classic bakery atmosphere and while there is usually a line, the service is brisk and moves fairly quickly. If you want to impress your holiday season guests, family or friends, the LPS is the right venue for traditional Italian baked goods and desserts! As i return to NJ for the holidays, I will make at least three or four stops at LPS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

They chatted with everyone and were extremely open to us asking for recommendations. They even accommodated request for our a corner piece from the tray of cinnamon rolls :) Seems like a bit of a silly request but they did not make us feel bad about it at all, and happily boxed it up for us. We got a blueberry cinnamon roll, the brown butter banana bread, and a turkey BLT. Plus a honey lavender latte for my daily caffeine dose. The cinnamon roll was fluffy and the icing with blueberry topping were perfectly balanced. It was not overly sweet! I don't particularly enjoy banana, but the brown butter banana bread was divine. It wasn't dry nor overly moist and was the perfect bread/cake hybrid texture. The brown butter icing added an additional layer of nuttiness. The turkey BLT was served on their foccacia with tomatoes from a farmer's market - recommended by the staff. This was a great savory addition and they didn't skimp on the turkey bacon. The tomato was juicy but not too watery, and held its own in the sandwich. I didn't think I'd be writing about the tomato but it was very fresh and high quality! It's obvious they care genuinely about the menu items they put out, and the service they provide. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it. I can't wait to visit again.
