I love my dentist. I've been with Dr Gary and this practice for over five years. I've learned alot about six years and have had nothing but good experiences. One of the first things that Dr Gary has told me before was that you should never go to a dentist that personally does the teeth cleanings themself. The hygienist should be the one taking care of that because it's specialized. This office has a great staff who are always kind and welcoming, they know my family by name and always ask about how we're doing. They take the time to get to know you, not just take care of your teeth. I like the personalized experience. They recently updated their imaging equipment to digital decreasing the radiation exposure by half of the standard machines (I guess they listen because when I first started with them years ago - I told them I really didn't want to get zapped by radiation so often - so if they could make do with the existing x-rays from my dental record transfer). The digital scan revealed some wear and decay on a tooth that my previous dentist filled - but never showed up on lower resolution scans before. We cleared that up on the next visit a week later - quick and fast and without pain. My experience has always been good with this practice - they are professionals, personable and welcoming. As an avid procrastinator, it takes a lot to get me to not only think about giving a Yelp review, but to then actually complete the task. My conversation with the wonderful woman who answered my call this morning was the dealbreaker. When I asked Barbara how much it would cost me to replace my new, now lost, mouth guard, she reacted more like a friend than an employee, asking if I had looked in my laundry and if I have a pet. Not a good experience with Dr Gary Alberts. The good: He accommodated my need for a quick appointment. I discussed in detail via phone (Suzie) the issue that I was having. (A very small piece of a tooth had broken off, simple polishing would of fixed the issue right up) The bad: 1) Upon arriving to the office I was immediately taken to a room by one of the assistants, pictures were taken. I was told these are necessary, because I am a new patient & they were needed for insurance purposes. I was also told that they are simple digital pictures (not harmful). Xrays are xrays, digital or not, because I was a new patient, the Dr should of met me first & evaluated prior to anything being done. 2) The doctor came in & after looking at the tooth in question, could not figure out if I had a veneer, filling or something else Furthermore, he asked if I had been treated outside this country & was amazed that my answer was local. In addition, from the things that were said, I got the feeling that he did not hold immigrants from eastern Europe in high regard, doctors or patients. 3) The office was filthy & messy. From the waiting room to the examination/treatment rooms. Everything was old, stained & not clean. This place was not a germ free environment one would expect. Outcome: (10 min after meeting me) Determined that he was not comfortable treating me. Told me that I need full mouth reconstruction, not something that he was ready to take on. My experience summary: Wasted 2 hours of my life. Exposed me to unwanted radiation. No actual work performed. read more

Dr. Alberts and his staff are fabulous! I am a Treatment Coordinator at an orthodontists office and when patients are looking for a dentist the first card that I pull out is Dr. Gary Alberts. I know that I can trust that my patients will get the best care at his office. The office is warm and Suzi at the front desk is your instant friend! She takes care of patients like they are her family, you will want to go out for lunch with her! When our patients come to our office they are so grateful that going to the dentist can actually be enjoyable! They take most insurance which is a bonus too! I highly recommend! read more

I've had Dr. Gary Alberts as my dentist for 30 years. He is very caring and thorough. His staff is wonderful and very professional and friendly. I've lived in 3 other states for several years and always kept going to Dr. Alberts. He is irreplaceable. My sister moved to Arizona 4 years ago and she's on her third dentist so far! We've always had a dentist who is so amazing, that we don't want to give him up. I currently drive 1 hour each way to see Dr. Alberts. read more

Dr Alberts and his entire staff are WONDERFUL. Ive had lots of work done recently and the quality has been fantastic!! In addition to great dental work, Dr Alberts has a very nice demeanor and he does a really good job of explaining things in a way that makes sense without freaking you out . He's also AWESOME with kids. My toddler went in for her 1st cleaning and btw Susie's warmth & enthusiasm and Dr Alberts friendly calm, she didn't want to leave!! Absolutely amazing. I love this place. I am unusual that I like going to the dentist. I drive from Grayslake to see Dr. Alberts. I've been to a few closer by Grayslake and hadn't been impressed. He was my second opinion on getting a bite guard at night I have one and couldn't be happier! The receptionist is always smiling and happy to see anyone that walks in. This is tough to do in the medical field I could imagine. If you don't walk in with a smile from ear to ear, She is impossible to resist a smile back. I thank garys office and staff for their top notch service. Keep up the good work, I recommend his office to all my friends and coworkers! Dr. Alberts and his staff are top-notch! They are kind and patient and don't keep me (and the kids!) waiting. They are very thorough but don't recommend unnecessary procedures. They are proactive with your oral health care but seem to have a "wait and see" approach to doing any major work. Dr Alberts is a nice dentist, however, after relocating to another state, I have to say I have never received such rude behavior, especially from someone in the medical field, as I did from his head support desk lady. Whoa... Unbelievably two-faced person who shifted from having a saccharinely sweet as pie phony to a Cruella de Ville after being asked to transfer MY record to another dental office. Very upsetting to be shouted at by someone in a position whose job it is to help. Sadly, avoid Dr Alberts for that reason. read more
