A friend ordered a cherry pie $18 and a chocolate cupcake $4 for me to pick up. They have an order online option. They can improve and edit to show instead "cupcake" and not its plural form, which is misleading when that's placed alongside a picture of 4 mini cupcakes. Overall, the cupcake is on the sweeter side for me. Cherry pie filling was like expected - tart with plump cherries. The pie dough is average and though I shouldnt do this, I compare all pie shops I visit to Wanda's Pie In the Sky, but that's just not completely fair when they're supreme. The crust at Celena's isnt the most buttery or flakey, in fact they missed to oil/butter the tray the pie was in so trying to take any slices meant you got only the bottom and the top of the pie. No backs to the pie. Could be done better. The space is large with a lot of seating.

The place is bright and oh so clean! Spotless is a word I would rarely apply to restaurants and such, but this place was spotless. Service was efficient and quick. I got a "Russian Chocolate Tale" and an Americano. The coffee was good, a sort of standard blend, not bitter, smooth. The Tale was chocolate mousse on top of a chocolate cookie covered by a layer of vanilla-ish mousse-ish and some pink stuff. (Can you tell I'm not a desserts expert?) Both mousses were delicate and not too sweet, but I got nothing from the outer pink layer. Their selection is an amazing array of standard Western European pastries and desserts. And a Dubai chocolate bar in the $30 adjacent area if you feel like being trendy. Overall, another fine addition to the many great bakeries and dessert places on the Danforth.

Parking is a bit tight and chaotic, but I did notice a sign mentioning additional rear parking on weekends, which is helpful. Before even stepping inside, the patio caught my eye. Definitely a great spot for when the weather warms up. Inside, the space is thoughtfully laid out with a variety of seating options and shelves of packaged goods like coffee and cookies. As you move through the winding line, you pass by their fridge and freezer items (think ready-to-go meals like shepherd's pie and grab-and-go options like chia pudding), followed by freshly baked breads. Honestly, the hot honey pizza focaccia looked incredible! Last was the drink menu and their pastry display. It's the kind of setup where you can't help but look at everything. I went in knowing I wanted the iced banana matcha, and also picked up an almond croissant and a carrot walnut loaf. Service was friendly and welcoming. The iced banana matcha met my expectations based on what I'd heard. It's not the strongest matcha if you're a purist, but it leans more toward a dessert-style drink with really enjoyable flavors. It's definitely on the sweeter side, but even as someone who prefers "not too sweet," I still loved it. The almond croissant was beautifully flaky with a rich, flavorful filling, and I appreciated the generous amount of sliced almonds on top for added texture. The carrot walnut loaf was another standout. It was super moist and well-balanced, not overly sweet even with the icing. Overall, everything felt thoughtfully made and high quality. I just wish it were closer so I could visit more often. They have such an extensive menu, and I'd love to try more next time.
