I was walking my dog and stopped to watch them for a moment, since I was also in need of a full exterior paint job on my house. Unlike some paint crews, I noticed how clean and careful they were and the job looked great, and the crew was professional looking. I worry sometimes about crews with teenage looking kids with no experience, that's not the case here. That day I called them and the owner, Younis, came down to my house at the end of the day and gave me a quote. We have a stucco house, and Younis told me we would have to either prime before painting or use a higher quality paint that water proofs the stucco and seals it. I had already had 3 other notable painters in town come out and give me quotes and no one ever mentioned the challenge with stucco, sealing cracks, trenching below the dirt at the bottom, priming and painting any metal with oil based paint (we have a huge steel balcony). Younis, pointed out things that I wasn't even aware of. He looked at the job and emailed me a quote the next day after carefully evaluating the job. To my surprise, the quote was cheaper than the top dogs in town and he was using far superior paint products and doing way more than anyone else. We decided to go with AWA and told him we had to wait to get the paint approved by the HOA etc., he was extremely patient with us and once we confirmed, he started the job very quickly. I was surprised that, Younis, the owner, actually did the painting. He's not one of those spoiled contractors who leave a crew at your house who don't speak English. He was the main painter and checked with me every single day throughout the project. I am extremely picky and we made many small changes along the way. He never appeared bothered and just worked with me to make it happen the way I wanted. The price never changed. He even installed new lighting fixtures for us and really took pride in the project. We could not be happier with AWA Painting. I feel very lucky and don't think I would have had the same experience with any other painter. We plan to do more inside projects and will definitely use them.

Everyone at Protec was so professional and made the stressful and expensive process of replacing my roofs as cheap and pain free as possible. I had TWO roofs replaced within a year(on different houses of course) using Protec. They were both of similar size and the crew had it finished in a very timely manner. They left my yard clean of all materials too, which was a very pleasant surprise! The best part is that it been at least two years since I had my roof replaced and needed proof of the new roof for my insurance. I lost the permit and receipt, so I emailed the staff to ask for proof. The office emailed me back within 24 hours with proof of purchase for my insurance! So I called San Joaquin Roofing to come do a repair and agreed to pay $135/man hour "port to port"…read moreplus materials. Two men were here for one hour, smeared some black gunk on the roof, couldn't tell me how much it would be, and then they sent me a $930 bill. I had to about turn into a Karen for an itemized list of costs, because I couldn't figure out how 1 hour of labor from 2 people came out to that. They are charging me for 5.88 "man hours." .88 hours for an operations manager to stop by and check on his guys, and who I do not believe stopped by because I checked my cameras. 1.32 hours for "preparing to come" and "clean up" after leaving. They were sure prepared, showing up without a flash light or step stool that I had to provide. 1.32 hours for driving to and from my house, 15 minutes from their location. So in total, about 4 "man hours" that occurred off site from my house. I've been explaining that they did not explain many of the fees nor include them in the pricing agreement, and they told me they'll send it to collections then. They don't care at all. They seem to think they can just add whatever whoever they want to their "hours" without any notice or explanation.
