Pump house cracked it's a 300-400$ part, just outside of the 1 year warranty Went in today to see if they'd stand behind their product or would do anything for me & was met with a quick "nope, sorry fella " Mind you this place is also a service center; do yourselves a favor & buy somewhere more reliable & reputable. After spending about $300 on a Husqvarna riding mower (oil, filter, blades, etc.) we were told it needed an additional $150-$180 for 3 blade bearings installed but we couldn't afford it at the time and brought it back a few months later to get that done. However, the price magically tripled by increasing to $471for the same job estimate. Needless to say, my daughter and I were not only devastated, but also felt helplessly trapped and cheated without recourse. Therefore, be strongly advised to get estimates in writing due to deceptive business practices. read more

Let me start by saying that I purchased my Hustler Super Z from Bakers but my Ferris somewhere else. My son and I went there for front wheel caster bearings and the employee there said he couldn't help us cuz we didn't buy the mower there and then I saw Jake who's in charge of the store and then asked the employee if he could possibly match it up? He was reluctant to do so but did probably because I spoke to Jake and he said here's two that may work? I said looks like a perfect match and bought them and they fit perfect. Yesterday i stepped in to get a belt for the blades and again the employee asked if I bought the mower there? I said, I bought the Hustler there but this belt goes to my Ferris and I was hoping he could match it up with the sizes he has there? He said, no, can't help you. I again asked him again to possibly match it up and he refused. Guess where I'm not buying my next mower? Very, very disappointed!!!! read more

I walked in with my heart set on a zero turn Husqvarna and walked out with a zero turn Hustler. Their inventory far exceeds Lowes and Home Depot and they have a full service department for the non DIY'ers. Free delivery and service pickup. Our salesman Bob was great. Definitely not pushy or the typical car salesman. Just a straight up honest guy. My wife and I asked him dozens of questions and neither of us ever drove a zero turn before so he even let us test drive one in the back lot. All of the regular customers walking in and out highly suggested the Hustler over the Husq and who better to trust than the locals. We had the mower within three days. We'll be going back to Baker's Power (aka True Value) to purchase our weed trimmer once we get some time. I highly recommend them if you're looking for a mower. read more

Since moving to Sussex County, I have gone into Baker's twice to look at riding mowers, and both times Not one person bothered to assist or help me with questions. After standing around for 15 minutes, I finally left disgusted. Someone needs to light a fire under the sales staff, for when a customer comes in, you should be there to recognize them as a potential sale and answer any questions they may have. Went in for the first time specifically looking for Benjamin Moore Paint samples. The lady that helped me in the paint section is very knowledgable and explained a lot about the different lines of paint that Benjamin Moore offers. I would highly recommend going here and I will be going back to purchase paint soon. It's so nice to get help right away when you walk in the door. read more

I purchased 2 Holland gas grills from Bakers Hardware, and suggested that my neighbor purchase 1 also for a total of 3 grills purchased. Quite pricey grills but worth the money. Sales person knowledgeable, but you paid for assemble that was not very good 1 grill the bolts were not tightened we had to fix when we got home and another grill the door was put on incorrectly and the shelf for the propane bottle upside down, which we had to fix when we got the grill home. About 1 year after the purchase of one of the grills the igniter would not work, come to find out that a plastic piece had cracked and broke. So we called Bakers and spoke to a very helpful sales person that spoke to her manager to see what could be done, we were told that Bakers would stand by it to come on down and bring the broken part and that they would replace it. So my husband drove 22 miles one way to get the replacement part, another sales person with quite an attitude waited on him and disregarded everything that he was told by the person that originally answered the phone. My husband left quite upset and later called the store to speak with a manager the gentleman that answered the phone said that he was the owner and he had no intention on standing by the broken part. Needless to say we will never shop there again and we will never suggest Bakers to any of our friends. Customer Service THERE IS NONE. If the owner of a store is that rude with customer service, I can completely understand why the help would be, NO TRAINING. read more
