Don't bother wait staff has no interest in serving you at this establishment, waited 20 minutes for lady bartender to get up and offer me a menu. Finally got a beer after 30 minutes then she went and sat back down and never asked me for my order gave up and left

Shared the Philly Steak Sandwich and boneless wings. Both very good and hot. Drink was a little light for wife, but tap beer tastes fine to me. Five TVs but issues with putting two different games on. Service was very good. The place was pretty quite for us. I suspect crowds might get challenging as they ramp up staff.....Staying at hotel so it works great for that. I almost had us going out somewhere based on prior reviews.

This was okay the mashed potatoes were cold. And the veggies also was a little cool not sure why but the salmon was hot. But the cream on top was not good at all. The salad was pretty good which is expected of a salad lol, the cheese curds were the best part of this meal which is a plus

Chicken nachos...a disastrous mess that was sent back.

Baker's is located in the atrium of the Doubletree Hotel and is definitely not my first choice in downtown dining. They do a great job with events like the Wine Walk but the regular dining experience is a miss. I recently stopped in with a friend on a Thursday night before a concert at the Morris Performing Arts Center. We had tried LaSalle Grill and LKT, but they were packed and we wanted something close by. We grabbed a couple seats at the bar and ordered our drinks. I will say the bartender did a great job. The bar seats filled up and the place was severely understaffed. She was racing around like crazy keeping everyone's drinks filled. We ordered the nachos with grilled chicken to share. We waited....and waited...and waited. Several other folks arrived, ordered and were served their food while we waited. When we asked, the bartender told us it takes longer since we ordered with chicken. The nachos finally arrived and were disastrous. For the upcharge and wait, there were about four pieces of diced chicken. The plate if chips was topped with some barely melted cheese on the top and a pile of plain chips underneath...no thanks! We ended up with the spinach artichoke dips instead which was a mayonaissy mess. At least the drinks were good!

My experience here was a 3-star, A-OK, experience. I only ordered an appetizer and a soft drink, however. The menu prices were on par for a hotel restaurant. It is a nice, bright, sunny atmosphere.

The people who work here clearly hate their jobs... I am staying in the Double Tree and came down for a beer before the Notre Dame game. THREE people standing around behind the bar and not one of them asked me if I wanted a drink for a good 5-10 minutes of sitting here.

I have not yet had the pleasure of trying anything off of Fatbird's normal menu. I'll try to keep this review quick since it is pretty specific but long story short, we loved the unique and well made food and the service and vibes were great! So while Fatbird is known for their chicken sandwiches, my bf and I ordered the $40 lunch for two from this special 2026 menu, which was heavily indigenous Latin American-inspired in the ingredients. For the starter, we shared 8 sweet plantains slices which were yummy but we wish we had more. Then for our main, we split one grilled jerk chicken sandwich with VERY unique ingredients like a pickled green tomato as well as two creative tacos with tender shredded pork and more pickled veg. The tacos were spicy as heck and definitely not for the faint of heart! Lastly, we split a small bowl of arrow con leche brule, which helped bring the heat down from the tacos. While we didn't leave full, we had fun trying a curated and very unique set of dishes with interesting flavors, textures, and spices. The other 4 people we ate lunch with ordered a variety of stuff from the normal menu, some of which are in my attached pictures. My bf also ordered himself a pineapple tepache to sip on, which was $8, and I got myself a diet coke with lemon ($3). Our waitress was on top of her game and was very friendly. The interior is cute and spacious and the bathroom is cute and clean. I love a clean bathroom! Their normal menu has 8000 things I want to try next time! As for this special menu lunch, we paid, after tax, tip, and a credit card surcharge, a total of $67. A bit high for lunch, but good vibes all around!

Can't go wrong with any, whether traditional or slightly experimental, they're all good. Great service, great bar, a great night out.

We sat on their beautiful patio with a perfect view of the St. Joseph River- what a treat! There are opportunities to sit in so many places it felt a bit like a maze in the best way- so much to see! And with all of these places to sit, on a lovely Friday night- this place was poppin'! So we'd likely recommend a reservation if you think of it, but I'm certain the wonderful staff would be able to fit you in as they can! We waited a moment for our food, but with our large group, we were happy to do so as the food was worth the wait! Many of our group got OG Burgers while others opted for chicken wings and brisket sandwiches, or even tacos! They really had it all! The food had a bit of a kick with the spice, but as someone with not a high spice tolerance, it was not too much at all! I didn't get a chance to snap a pic of our dishes because we just scarfed them down- Ha! The service was attentive, but also really independent and relaxed! Cared for, but not micromanaged in the slightest! Free to laugh loud and make memories with no rush out! Worth the stop if you can make it! What a joy!!
