Temecula Olive Oil Company was such a fun surprise and ended up being one of the highlights of our day. The different olive oils were genuinely delicious, and it was really interesting tasting the differences between them, The Lemon and Mediterranean was especially good and definitely came home with us! The shop itself is adorable and has that rustic, small-town Temecula charm that makes you want to wander around and look at everything. Beyond the oils, they have olives, spreads, sauces, and all kinds of things you suddenly convince yourself you absolutely need. The Tomato Basil Marinara may or may not have also made its way into our bag. A Sunday spent wine tasting and olive oil tasting? Turns out that is a pretty perfect combination. Great products, a fun experience, and something a little different from the usual Temecula wine-country day.

But the strawberry was a big hit. I bought a bottle of it. The herbs de Provence oil was good and fragrant. And the mushroom & sage oil was surprisingly good as well. I don't even like mushroom! And just a few miles east of Old Town is their ranch in Aguanga, a beautiful 26 acre property that is open to the public for olive oil and wine tasting. The property is picture perfect for large gatherings and events too. There are several cute places to hang out. The small building that houses their "store" where they sell products and do tastings is so welcoming and so cute! The wedding we attended was held in the olive groves and the reception area was set up in the grassy area where there is lots of room for tables. The grounds are rustic and a little dusty (it's a ranch), really pretty with touches of cute and bright decor, and it is well kept. There are some animals too, which are always fun for the kids. We were fortunate to return to the property today with our church group. The owners, Thom and Nancy, are so gracious and kind to welcome us in. We had tacos catered in and hung out on the grassy area. Thom took the time to give us some history of TOOC and he took some on a tour. I missed the tour so I will have to return to get the full download. Even on a hot day, sitting under the shade of the big trees with an occasional cool breeze made it for a very pleasant afternoon! They also prepared a delicious light lunch using the quality olive oils and balsamic vinegars they sell and educating us all about the health benefits of these products. Now using the different oils to flavor or accent the food is next level. They do popcorn with olive oil instead of butter and it's amazing. My favorite is jalapeño oil for popcorn with a little kick. We've also done some of their wine and cheese tastings. Discovered so many great new wines and that comes from a beer drinker.
