When looking for dermatologists within my network and area, Beaird Dermatology came up as a…read morerecommended option. Their office is located in a multi story building in Hoffman Estates by the I-90 expressway. Their office seems newer with concrete floors/white walls being minimal and modern. It was easy to get an appt and I didn't have to wait too long as a first time patient. My first visit was a general visit to check for concerning blemishes and discuss some long-standing skin concerns. I was prescribed three different creams for three different areas as well as recommended an over the counter shampoo. I tried products as recommended and didn't see results. I recently reached out (3 months later) to follow up that items weren't working and was told I'd have to come back in because I didn't follow up. It was news to me as I was never told to follow up on my terms; I expect my doctor to reach out to me. Either way, I scheduled another appt which was another copay. I was recommended two new creams as well as a pill prescription. It's been a week and no pharmacy has reached out to me saying I have a prescription to fill and the pill left me with side effects within days so I stopped taking. I followed up with the office, they asked if I could come back in which would be ANOTHER copay. I sadly am deciding to cut my loses with working with their practice. I refuse to pay another copay three business days after visiting because they didn't ask the right questions when I was last in. I felt the PA I had was kind but other staff was not and only talked in medical terms which left me confused and hard to follow conversation/questions. My PA seemed like he did care but I am left feeling like they want my money more than finding a solution to help me.

I recently switched to a different dermatology practice not because of Dr. Beaird herself but because of how her office and practice is run. Her administrative staff do not return messages, they do not follow up with necessary insurance preapprovals, they cancel appointments regularly and then make you reschedule through text messaging or AI, they are unfriendly and they fail to process basic medical records requests. I've never encountered a medical practice that was so poorly managed.

Depending on the person, you might not like him or really like him as a doctor. I definitely respect and like him as a doctor...he's very knowledgeable and spends time to explain things and if you need immediate care/immediate biopsy he provides that as well... He is direct and really cares on helping patients so he might not have soo much small talk when he meets with you (for ppl that enjoy the small talk, maybe he's not your type of doctor?)..I don't mind minimal small talk because at least that way i'm in and out fast... Likes -if I need a prescription and he has samples of it..he is generous in giving samples...most doctors are not...but this helps cost saving for prescriptions as well on my part ...sometimes you don't need the whole container full of medication that you end up buying... -direct and honest -great feedback--if you had to get a test done (blood test, or sample sent to lab), he provides you with the results as soon as he gets them and if prescriptions need to be updated, he does that immediately as well... -staff are all nice -doctor is very knowledgeable -Location is great, plenty of parking -waiting area provides you with many magazines to play with and also toys for children -he's professional Costs: depends on your health insurance provider I would definitely recommend him to people who like a doctor that is knowledgeable and really cares for their patients...

Because it has been many years (1990) I was told my records did not exist any longer and I would be considered a new patient. Ok, I scheduled an appointment for May. The following day I got a phone call from the office saying I had a balance due of $17.20 from 1990!!! When I asked what the bill is for I was told they no longer have those records, but they know I owe that amount of money. In the last 24 years I have never ever received a bill or have been contacted by that office. I specifically remember paying my bill that was due the day of the procedure because I became light headed while standing at the front desk, and in fact passed out. I requested that the office manager call me. That was on Thursday, today, Tuesday, I got a call that my appointment can be moved up to this week. Ok, but then was again told of the $17.20 balance due. Again I asked what it was for and was again told, we don't know we don't have those records any longer. But they know I owe $17.20??? Finally a very rude office manager got on the line and said I would have to pay that amount and any new amount on the day I come in to see the doctor BEFORE I even get to see her? When I insisted I want to know what the $17.20 is for I was then told I am not welcome at that office and I should find another dermatologist. I am expected to pay a bill that is 24 years old without knowing what the bill is for? If they don't have my records how can they have this bill?

A few weeks ago, I was laughing while reading all of these 1 star reviews. Now I am writing one…read more And for a very good reason. So before I saw all of the "great" reviews this place has, i decided to make an appointment. I made my appointment, and as soon as I finished- the Yelp reviews popped up. Yup. Over 100 1 star reviews. I read quite a few and instantly decided that I needed to save myself a headache and cancel my appointment. I called this place and left a very detailed voicemail of all my information, stating I just made an online appointment 5 minutes ago and would like to cancel because of how poor the reviews are. Nobody called me back, so I assumed they cancelled my appointment. A few days later I received a reminder text about my upcoming appointment...I responded right away and left another voicemail (does anyone pick up phones at this place lol) explaining that I have already cancelled this appointment. No response. Again. A few weeks later...I received a $50 bill for not showing up to my appointment!!! Hahahaha oh my. Now I see what all of these yelp reviews are talking about. Horrible experience. I never set foot in this office or talked to one person and they have the audacity to try and charge me $50?? Even after I left 2 very clear and detailed voicemails explaining that I want to cancel and stated my reason for cancelling. I even texted their text system every time they tried telling me I have an appointment. They do not use a DONOTREPLY texting system, they can absolutely see the texts. So 4 attempts to cancel an appointment and they still try to charge me $50 for a no show. I already called their service number and was met with an interesting conversation. The lady on the other end told me that the appointment I made was for the very next day and since I cancelled the appointment, it was within 24 hour notice so I was charged. She also said since this is my first time, they will clear the charge. Cool. I accepted what she said and they got rid of the charge. ...but what she said was not true at all. My appointment was for 5 days after I set the appointment. I got a text confirming that I made an appointment. I also got another text reminding me about my appointment a day before the scheduled date. I didn't bother telling the lady this on the phone because she said she was getting rid of the charge. I'm confused as to why she lied about my appointment being made for the very next day and that my cancellation violated their 24 hour rule. I first cancelled the appointment 4 days before the actual appointment. Oh well. This "business" if you can even call them that - is an embarrassment. I truly believe every single one star review I see for this place. I have experienced it myself. They are not organized, they clearly don't listen to voicemails or take the time to cancel someone's appointment so they can try and snake you for $50. Im convinced they didn't even bother to look up the fact that I did call them and text them multiple times. They just gave me some BS they give to everyone "you canceled within the 24 hr period you owe us $50". I can imagine a lot of people just accept this and pay. What a horrible business practice. I'm sure that's how they get most of their money. No way they have many repeat customers.
