I cant stop thinking about these three shredded beef bean and cheese burritos i got from this place two weeks ago. I was enjoying my burrito then after the first bite every bite after that had either cartilage or some nasty squishy piece of beef that made me think i was eating menudo. This was all 3 burritos! This used to be my favorite spot but the food quality has taken a curve in the wrong direction please separate the meat and give us the good stuff not the menudo. Be a while before i go back, but ill try again, hopefully the guy who made those messed up burritos sees this and corrects it. read more

This is the last time I ever waste my money buying food here. I ordered a carnitas plate and specifically said plate not tacos when I got home it was tacos in the same order we asked for carne asada fries specifically twice reiterated make sure the fries a crispy. The fries were extremely soggy,extremely greasy, cold and with a hair. I was so disgusted i had to give it to my dogs and they didn't even want to eat it. Baja taco should invest in hiring a cook that appreciates his job and strives to make good food so people would want to come back. Don't waste you money a gas station serves better food than this. In need of a fast and cheap dinner we came here. We already loved the location in Apple Valley so figured this one should be just as good, in my opinion I like this one better, my husband the other and my son is obsessed with their quesadillas and for $2 we have stopped a few times just to get him one! They use two large burrito shells, overstuff them with cheddar, fry the outside and cut it like a pizza, $2=YUM!!! I get the taco salad which at $3 is crazy cheap, beans, rice, fajitas veggies, lettuce and the best salsa bar ever so I load it with cilantro, onion and their red and green salsas. They asked if we wanted some free chicken nachos, uhh sure. They were great and a meal big enough for a family. My husband get the $4 footlong burrito and that sucker is HUGE! He can never finish it, but can't help himself from ordering it again! The first time he got steak, the second carnitas, he loved the steak, I am now obsessed with the carnitas! I used to live in Victorville and the Baja Taco in the Stater Bros shopping center is so much better than the Apple Valley store. I usually get the Burrito Supreme with carnitas. I thought I learned my lesson, but apparently not. This is the 3rd and final time I order from the Apple Valley Baja Taco. The carnitas each time were hard and dry. Customer service excellent! I had a shredded beef burrito - it comes with rice and beans inside. I asked them to hold the rice otherwise the burrito would have been 70% rice. The tortilla was soggy and the beans and shredded beef were absolutely tasteless. The "hot" salsa wasn't hot at all. My friend ordered chips and salsa and she got the bottom of the chip bag as the chips were broken and stale tasting. I know this is gross but I keep burping up the meal I ate and I will never go back to this Baja Taco. The other Baja Taco in Victorville is soooooooo much better! Tasty and always hot. So my first visit to baja taco in apple valley was over 15 years ago, then it was cash only and I remember vividly how the food was back then,very bland and not worth the money I paid then. Fast forward to 2022, the price is insanely outrageous for a hard shell taco nearly $3 each. The beans were mediocre at best, definitely looked homemade but tasted like Cisco branded refried beans.it had a very distinct canned taste.rice was also too wet,almost mushy in texture and the fish tacos I got was mainly a bread filet with small chunks of white fish. Definitely,not what I was expecting. Disappointed,yes. I personally like homemade refried beans and quality is of the utmost importance in dining out for me. You will have to try it and see for yourself and this review is only what I experienced and for others to gauge their visit, so I cannot speak for all. Will I try again? Dang, I've been here twice already. Once, a few of my friends and I were barbecuing up some carne asada at a friend's house and we needed some rice, beans and tortillas. One of our friends said we should come here and so we actually ended up ordering the Family Pack which gave us containers of rice and beans and tortillas as well as a container of chicken. We grubbed at home. The second time was for lunch break during Mitzvot* day and a few of us trekked over here to have lunch. My friend Daniel from Australia treated and by the time we were done with lunch, he had purchased 3 family packs. We insisted we had enough food but he wasn't having none of it. Such a great and generous guy! The food is not too bad. It's really not set up for a nice dine-in experience and to-go would probably be the better choice but regardless, the food is good and not really all that expensive. If I recall, the Family Pack was close to $13 and was supposed to feed a family of 4 or so. I have never had a bad meal here but I do get the same thing every time--the ground beef soft taco combo. I can never finish it. It's a great value for $3.55 including tax. Since moving to the High Desert, I've found some awesome taco shops, Mexican spots, and restaurantes Centroamericanos. Unfortunately, this is not one of those places. I've never been to a taqueria that didn't offer aguas frescas, and that was super disappointing right of the bat. I ordered chilaquiles, and they were fine, but we're essentially nachos with enchilada sauce rather than actual chilaquiles which are fried tortillas cooked in red sauce and served with crema, queso fresco, etc.. They don't carry hot sauces either, which would be fine if their salsas were spicy. Alas. On the upside, the veggie burrito was pretty good, and everything tasted fresh. The food was inexpensive and the cashier was friendly, too, although the staff as a whole was all clearly young. Like the limes were cut in a tic-tac-toe pattern, meaning the core of the lime was a square pillar of lime casing. I've genuinely never seen that. Also, they didn't know to remove the cilantro from the stems. Just little things like that were a reflection of their collective inexperience. Have used this place many time before, and was very disappointed with this last and final experience. Manager "Pepe" Lopez was extremely rude and unprofessional. Placed a huge order for my son's birthday. My husband went to go pick up order and no one helped him carry it out. He got all the way home and there was no tortillas. Called the store, and the manager never apologized for the mistake, but instead said it was my husbands fault for forgetting them. I then drove all the way back to the store to pick them up, while the party was going on and people were trying to eat. Get back to the store and he tells me the tortillas were tucked behind the wall on the counter, is slamming his hand down on the counter repeatedly. I asked him why he didn't call my number on the order paper and let us know something was forgotten before we got all the way home, or run them out the door to us. He proceeded to say he was too busy ( no one was inside) and that it was my husbands fault for forgetting them, even though he said they were tucked behind wall on counter. Very upset with they way I was treated and spoken too. He claims he's a manager, but knows nothing about customer service or how to speak to someone. Huge language barrier as well. Manager should be fluent in English as well as Spanish. Hope that you can resolve this before another customer is treated disrespectfully. read more

I love Baja Taco for a quick lunch! They are amazingly cheap and always have quick friendly service. The price alone makes me want to keep coming back and the food is hot and yummy. I always get the two chicken tacos with rice and beans that they have advertised. I get a bunch of their red salsa and add it to my beans and my rice. It is good but not spicy at all. They don't allow you to share drinks here and that is fine with me. I think having one cup for a family of 13 is cheap and ghetto. Spend the dollar and hey yourself a soda. read more

We are new to the area, from Riverside and decided to start finding out favorite take outs. Bean, rice and chicken quesadilla were good. We also ordered Asada fries and an Asada burrito. Both looked unpleasing and had a taste to match. The burrito only had Asada, (which isn't very good at all) beans and rice. No tomatoes, onions, guac, nada. Just terrible I didn't even eat it all. My husband said the fries were good, the Asada was small flakes of meat with no flavor. The pico was terrible and you can tell the guac was not fresh/made there. The food is greasy. It is really, really greasy, and not the good kind. I had the carne asada soft tacos, which were less than satisfying. This comes from the fact that the meat was shredded and soaked in so much grease that they no longer tastes like carne asada. I also ordered the carnitas burrito, I couldn't finish it. The tortilla tastes like paper, and the meat was not tender. What's worse is that their guacamole tastes like a mixture of paste and old avocados The good thing about this place is their prices.
