I personally think the food is good, but I cannot get past how many times they forget to bag something for the delivery items. I predominantly order from Baja through their site or another one. I stopped ordering from their site since mine guarantees e delivery. I need that because Baja ALWAYS forgets something. Before using my delivery system, I would have to call them and it was a long song and dance, but since I do order from them probably weekly (I really like their Baja Ensalada), I was calling weekly. Overall, their food is good but when you cannot enjoy the salad because they forgot to send the dressing or the chips, but they forgot to pack the guacamole, it's not as enjoyable. Another restaurant I'm marking off my list. Paid $17 for a Fajita Burrito Enchilada Style yesterday. Huge, so only ate 1/4 and brought home. It appeared to lack much of anything except rice and a whole lot of sauce on top. I figured I'd bring it home and doctor it up a bit, which for that much money I shouldn't have to add anything! I just now heated it up and opened it to see if there was any meat in it, not just rice. It had about 2 TB of pork max. The rest was filled with a bit of veggies and 3/4 rice. Really? You raise your prices, put less protein in the item and think we don't notice? This used to be my go to restaurant for Mexican food. No more. Paying that much money for pretty much a rice filled burrito is more than a rip off. I would have had more meat in a burrito from Taco Bell. Go ahead and continue to advertise on TV. This is our local Baja Fresh. We've been coming here often for quite a few years and always have good service and a clean restaurant. My go-to order is the chicken quesadilla or black bean burrito. Love their salsa bar too...some nice options from spicy to mild and plenty of cut limes and chopped cilantro for added flavor. My favorite, by far, is the mango salsa...it's like a sweet dessert ;-) My husband loves the taco trios (chicken, steak and shrimp). Everything is so fresh and delicious! I've only been here twice (x1 was about 10 yrs ago). I honestly wasn't impressed and was better off eating Taco Bell. My grilled taco looked like a gyro, and was stuffed with a TON of lettuce. Though, I did enjoy the burrito which was about $10 (I could go to a local Mexican joint for half the price). I think my expectation of this place was completely different than what I actually experienced which is why they're receiving 2 stars. My mother and I ate at the Vancouver Mill Plain location this weekend and ordered 2 burritos. As I bit into the end of my burrito I thought I had a bone in my mouth but it turned out to be a chunk of sharp plastic!!! I am very fortunate I did not swallow the plastic. This place is pretty good. The service is usually friendly and they get it right every time. On 4.28.22 I called between 3 and 4 for a pick-up order and after a few rings with no answer, I hung up thinking they're busy and I'll call back in a few. When I called the second time, it rang a number of times again and a girl picked up sounding like she thought she was answering her personal phone. "Hello," she said, sounding annoyed. While I placed my order, all she said was "alright" flatly and repeatedly and when I was done, she said "alright" one last time rather than anything resembling customer service. If this was normal at this location, I would never come back. When I picked up, they were NOT busy at.all, she continued being crappy, offered no condiments, and was devoid of any customer service propriety. This place has been Usually a very good place. However we experienced a very unpleasant visit. The Ac was broke and very uncomfortable inside. (We over looked that) However when we got our food there was very long black hair in my wife's salad! So my wife brought it back to the cashier who was the manager Rosie she took the salad back and then she proceeded to remake her salad. At that time we noticed she put a hairnet on! My question is, why wasn't it on in the first place? When my wife got salad remade it was the wrong salad! So that point I wife goes back up to Rosie the face of the franchise that day and got nothing but attitude she said she was refunding the ticket and what she did she charge me double then she credit me one of the charges. And being a manager in charge she should offer the refund and remake the salad. Now keep in mind it was very hot in that restaurant and when I went to the counter I noticed the cooks are dripping sweat while cooking! While we were there they ended up closing the restaurant because of this condition! So my wife called for the general manager today's later on Monday and ended up speaking with the owner Lisa and Lisa said she would look into this matter and get back in touch with us. My husband stopped into Baja Fresh to pick up a quick dinner on his way home. Two tacos, a cup of soup, a quesadilla and a chicken burrito for close to $50! The food was mediocre at best. The piece of fish in one of the tacos was the size of a small pencil. It was even more disappointing because my husband was given the wrong order which he did not discover until he got back to our home in Ridgefield. He drove back to Hazel Dell to exchange the order. Not very good. I had baja bowl, wife had chicken bowl, sons each had nachos, one with chicken, one without. Plenty of food, however it was not good. We were 0/4 and ate less than half. I've been going here for years and it's been one of my favorite places but lately something has changed. It's always had great and friendly service, good food at a good price and been clean and nice. The past two times I've gone in though it seems like a different place. The service has been really lackluster. There's been a kid behind the counter that seems to really not care too much or is overwhelmed. The restaurant seems to be a lot messier and the food quality has dropped off. I had a cold burrito there today, nasty. The bathroom's been the big one though. There's a broken urinal and paper towel dispenser and it's a mess. The first time there was no paper towels at all. If the bathroom in a restaurant is not working or not stocked how are the employees properly washing their hands? So, I'm giving it two stars out of courtesy, previously it would have been four or five stars. It might get better, I wouldn't know as I doubt I'll go back. What a disappointment. read more
