I've been going here for years and it's been one of my favorite places but lately something has changed. It's always had great and friendly service, good food at a good price and been clean and nice. The past two times I've gone in though it seems like a different place. The service has been really lackluster. There's been a kid behind the counter that seems to really not care too much or is overwhelmed. The restaurant seems to be a lot messier and the food quality has dropped off. I had a cold burrito there today, nasty. The bathroom's been the big one though. There's a broken urinal and paper towel dispenser and it's a mess. The first time there was no paper towels at all. If the bathroom in a restaurant is not working or not stocked how are the employees properly washing their hands? So, I'm giving it two stars out of courtesy, previously it would have been four or five stars. It might get better, I wouldn't know as I doubt I'll go back. What a disappointment. read more

Giving five stars to basically a fast food place? Yah...this girl is. I adore Baja Fresh. The salsa bar rocks, the tacos always taste fresh, and the beans and rice are my favorite of any Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. You also get a huge basket of free chips, and there are limes by the pop machine to put in your diet Pepsi. (Insert smile here) Oh, and the boyfriend says the burritos are good too. Pros: -Beans and rice! (love the black beans) -So many types of salsa! A spice level for everyone...plus seasonal specials -Delicious cilantro makes my tacos happy -Lime slices for pop! Cons: -Sometimes the eating area is a bit dirty -If you go right before closing, the staff can be a bit cranky...but, I've worked food service before and I know the feeling ;) Would I go again?: Heck ya! I just can't frequent my favorite Mexican restaurant anymore. It's so filthy in and around the place it just makes me hesitant to go inside. Come on!! I usually order the Burrito Mexicano with pinto beans, mild salsa, and either chicken or steak. The burrito is filling and the tasty salsa with chips tops off my experience to be a generally positive one. This particular location has friendly and fast service. The employees are nice and smile at you. This location is often popular and busy, even towards closing time. Very fresh food, extra easy to get to. Had the chicken taquitos, came in a bundle of 4 w choice of black or pinto beans, rice, fresh avocado and sour cream w side of chips. Wife had the chicken quesadilla with all the fixings. While it was fast service in a fast food kind of store the food was very fresh and authentic. No military or good-looking senior citizens discount but the manager heard me ask and took $2 off the tab. Restrooms clean. That's customer service! We'll certainly be back! read more

Fish Tacos I was the only there ordering in a Sun. Afternoon. Place was very dirty. I mentioned to the gal taking my order that they could do some sweeping. Used my birthday coupon for a burrito. I have frequented several baja fresh restaurants. Today i received the WORST customer service from a tall hispanic lady dressed in all black. Can't tell you her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag. If i had to guess she was unfortunately the manager on duty. The food was very good. Ordered the Baja ensalada. The portion size was good for the price. Service time was average. I deducted a star because before you even get to the door the outside patio tiles are all broken and it is definitely a trip hazard. It doesn't look like work is being done. The food is great!! Service is awesome!!! I had the Ono (fish) burrito with a Pacifico Beer. Perfecto hit the spot. These guys know what they're doing. The only thing I could say was I was hoping it could be a little cleaner. Like the soda machine and bathrooms seemed a little dirtier than the last time I was there. Over-all great experience! This place was actually so delicious! I was worried because there are some bad reviews and this is sort of a fast food type of place, but I was quite happy with what we got. I ordered the blackened chicken primo salad and it was HUGE for $9 and super yummy! I ended up taking 90% of this salad home because it was so big! A great value in my opinion! I also ordered the street corn which was absolutely delicious and tastes very similar to what you can buy from street vendors in Mexico. Yum! My daughters each ordered burritos and were very happy with them as well. I tried both and thought they were really good. Free chips were provided and the salsa bar had six total salsas available- two mild salsas, two medium salsas, and two hot salsas. So good and so nice to have while you wait for your food. I felt like the food was prepared in a very reasonable time frame and it was even delivered to the table which was nice. Fountain drinks were a bit overpriced in my opinion, but we were able to refill them so that's good. We will definitely be back- maybe tomorrow! I only gave four stars because I felt the atmosphere was lacking and in desperate need of an update. Signage was peeling off the walls, etc. The Food was great and you can even order takeout! Conveniently located on the corner of 78th Street (Padden Parkway) and Highway 99, Baja Fresh offers up excellent Burritos. I frequently use their "call ahead - pick it up" service while on the way home from work. The staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is right, and the restaurant itself is clean. read more

Ate here the evening of April 8th and boy, what a mistake! One member of the party had the soup that was cool and greasy (perhaps this was a souviner of the Gulf Spill?). The chips were rank, not fresh. The crew was "closing" the place down at 8:35PM, thus, only one garbage can was available as they made the others unable to put garbage in. And, yes, the condiment bar was going night-night and mopping was going on (don't slip, now!). I had the steak burrito and have had better at other Baja Fresh's. The staff had the personality of a fence post and I was not asked what I wanted nor was I told thank you. I forgot, I'm here for you, not the other way around. If you are in a plane wreck in the mountains and you have not ate for several days and it comes down to eating the seat you were sitting on or something from this Baja Fresh, you may want to put some tobasco sauce on that seat......!! read more

Weve gone here for years and had great experiences, but today the service was super not awesome. We waited 20 minutes for our food which never came. When we asked, they said they did not know what happened, but they would start cooking our food. 10 minutes later, the food still hadn't been started, so we asked for our money back and left. No one apologized, the manager never came out to talk to us, and we were given a hard time when we requested a refund. When we asked what happened, all they said was "I dont know". Worst customer service ever. They make you feel unwelcome every time you come in there. They make it a point to let you know that they're talking crap about you. Laughing when looking at you, joking with their coworkers in a very obvious way. I would be extremely disappointed if my employees acted that way, there's no excuse for treating people that poorly. First time going to Baja Fresh, it's a better version of a fast food place. You pick your own seat and have to go order at the front otherwise the food is excellent! I got the shrimp fajita and it was delicious! Shrimp was grilled just right and everything was fresh and tasty :) price was good and inside was very clean! read more

I have never been disappointed here. But then I always order the same thing each time,(not on the menu) the Dos-manos. Its a super large burrito cut in two, served with salad and chips for a very small price. The service has always been good each time. Nothing wrong with the service. I ate around 7:15pm, not too busy, order was taken promptly, the girl smiled, I paid, etc. I don't care if it is served on a silver platter or on paper plates. The only way to make me a fan is to have good food...I am not a fan. The ingrediants were fresh, but alas that is about the only upside to my first dining experience here. The nachos were a pile (small for the price) of chips with some beans and cheese on it, and then microwaved, (I suspect. The cheese had that rubbery texture and the chips had started to brown.) The only flavor the shrimp tacos had was charred shrimp and spicy (not hot, I like heat in my food) pico de gallo. Rice and beans, no complaints...no praise either. For a sit down reasturant Baja Fresh falls short of par in my opinion. For a grab and go reasturant its...meh. I'll probably go somewhere else next time. read more

We have been eating at the Baja on Hwy. 99 in Vancouver, WA for 4 years now. We love this place. The food is usually spot on, and the restaurant is always clean and well-kept. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Last night I got a Baja Ultimo for the first time. I was really disappointed in the quality of that particular burrito. I usually love all their food, so this is really a first for me. I really think they should take it off the menu. The problem lies in the fact that they use a lot of mushy rice, some roasted vegetables which are also mushy and then they put sour cream in there. I ordered chicken as my protein and I could hardly find any pieces of it at all. Mostly just mushy rice with sour cream and soggy veggies. There was not even any salsa or anything to spice it up. It was very bland. If someone was coming into the restaurant and ordered that on their first visit, I guarantee you they would never be back. Please take that thing off your menu! For your own good! Only went here because panera was closed. The food is sad and this place is sorta gross and dirty. My burrito was cold and the guacamole was brown and had a piece of lettuce in it? Sorry, I can only give this place a 2 star, came in to eat with husband on March 31, never seen such a mess, crumbs of food all over the floors, out of tea, oil slick floor, the salsa bar had not been washed, what a mess of spilled salsa all across the counter there, walked in, saw that on the door, a help wanted sign, so I understand there short handed to clean, a wet dish cloth left on table so I would get the hint to wash the tables my self. Food was ok, we sat in corner where I looked over into the kitchen from the glass windows to see where they prepare the food, it wasn't better, dirty with food scraps, crumbs on there cutting board and work space looked like it had not had a good cleaning in days. Looked up their ratings for inspections they were not that good. We always liked eating there, light bulbs are not even being replaced when out, it has gone down hill. I don't want to eat here till they clean up their act. looking for a replacement now. read more
