Everyone here is very polite, food is always served quickly and I've never had any issues with order accuracy. I will say, the amount I paid this time around for the shrimp (19.07) was insane considering the quesadilla had two or three shrimp per slice, and you can see in the picture they're decent size. They only let you pick three salsa bar options though, which is lame considering if you eat in or pick up your order in store you can get as much as you want. They also charged 1.27 each for the sour cream and the guac on the side. Which I thought was silly. Charging for guacamole is whatever, everyone seems to do it, but the sour cream being the same charge was funny... I also found a piece of the skewer from the shrimp still in my shrimp, this is the second time it's happened, so it doesn't happen often but still sucks to bite down on that. On the plus side, their impossible burritos are great! On the downside, their customer service is terrible. I went there recently and placed a small order with some custom instructions. When I got home, I saw they ignored the instructions. I called to let them know, and they said they didn't see the instructions in the ticket. I let them know that I ordered it in person so I don't control what's on the ticket. When I ordered it, I had a whole conversation with the person at the counter so I know it's not a case of her not hearing me. I've started to appreciate Baja Fresh. I like the Tostada Salad. I asked the guy at the counter if the beans were vegan and he didn't know. He said they were just beans. I said some restaurants cook their beans with lard or meat. He said that they weren't. I asked for the tostada salad without cheese or sour cream. I didn't think about adding rice or veggies, and he didn't ask if I wanted anything extra since I wasn't having the dairy or meat. When I got my order, I was thinking it looked really plain and could have used rice or veggies. The Baja Fresh closest to my house is my favorite. The people that work there are super friendly and always want to ensure a good dining experience. That's how I got the idea to add rice or fajita type veggies. But tonight it didn't occur to me to ask. Still, the salad tasted fresh, it was good. Also, I didn't realize I got to the restaurant close to closing time. I had just dropped the grandkids off at my daughter's place and wanted to relax and eat my meal. The cashier was confused that I sat at a table to wait. He asked if I was dining in and I said yes. Towards the end they were cleaning up and made it obvious I needed to hurry up and get out. I wish he would have told me upfront that they were closing soon, I would have got my food to go. Huge assortment of salsas and each one of them is unique in taste and flavor. Love their bowls, spicy burritos, and quesadillas and yet to try tacos and other options from the menu. But so far during all my visits whatever I have had has been consistent and fresh tasting. Their portions are generous for the price and you wouldn't be hungry afterwards. They offer a bowl of chips with every meal you order, which is pretty inviting too. Great place, service and food. So far, the place was clean every time I visited. read more

Sigh it's been 13 years since I last ordered a burrito from a Baja Fresh in lake Oswego/ Tualitin valley shop because of unbelievably rude and disrespectful customer disservice only to end up the same situation in Hillsboro. I decided to try the Baja Caesar burrito as touted a local favorite but after a 40 minute wait my single item order it was missing 3 main ingredients. They skipped the fresh sliced avocado, they forgot the tortilla chips strips and the cheese both counts were absent. I was so hungry after waiting so long I kept thinking it's just bunched up until halfway through with none of those ingredients. I turned it upside down again thinking they'd never forget the main ingredients so badly but none of those missing ingredients in any fraction appeared. The chicken was supposed to be grilled and the lettuce was chunk after chunk the hard stem leftovers I don't even put in a salad let alone a main dish item. They did leave out the pico and chipotle ranch as asked at least and added the rice showing that plus exactly right on my receipt. So this is definitely a back of house error but as happened the first time my meal was ruined and left holding the bill. read more

So this place has an advertisement board for a combo special on the weekends. Sometimes it is outside and sometimes it is in the restaurant hall near the restrooms. Every time I order the combo special on the weekends they always act confused what I am ordering and seem not aware of it. Reluctantly they agree to the special after some conversation and stalling. Once the manager/owner said "what sign?" ....... huh? The big one right there.... Another time an employee said they have the special every weekend but forget to put the sign outside. Either educate employees about the special, or get rid of it all together to avoid this unappreciated show each time. This happened a while back but still the reason why I do not order form Baja Fresh as often and NEVER from this location. I have come here a couple times whilst house sitting with my partner at the time and we had ordered roasted veggie burritos. Both times we ordered here we had to go back and ask for our roasted veggies and then put them in ourselves resulting in a bit of a mess. We brought it up to the managers or assistant manager that was there the last time and we were met with an unfriendly attitude and being treated like idiots for simply wanting roasted veggies in our roasted veggie burritos. I had emailed corporate and they said they would look into the matter and offer me some kind of deal. I did not take them up on that because I simply won't eat at this location again period. This is a great place for a quick family meal on the go. (Review for this location only.) We were served quickly and our order was accurate. The food was decent but not amazing. I had the grilled fish tacos. The fish was lukewarm and the fish pieces were kind of small, but the fresh vegetables where crisp and fresh. My husband liked his burrito and it satisfied his hunger, but it wasn't amazing. We tend to like things more flavorful but nothing was bad or inedible. The seasonings are not overbearing for the kids, and you don't have to wait long for your order, which makes this a good place to take young children. The kids shared a bean burrito and they like things bland so that was good. There are few places that they will eat most of the entree so we were pleased. The only thing was that the applesauce that comes with the kids meal is just tasteless. My kids love applesauce and neither of them would eat it. I tried it to see if they were just being dramatic but it actually tasted like stale water. I love this place. Seriously. I've almost given up on Chipotle, so I needed another place to fulfill the quasi-mex market. They offer more of a selection, free chips while you wait, an awesome salsa bar, and friendly staff. They have cheaper options as well. I have always had bad fajita experiences, so I just thought I hated them in general. My boyfriend orders them, so I tried some of his. Oddly enough, I've had them at expensive mexican restaurants and they are not nearly as good as the fajitas at Baja. Their shrimp is yummy. I love the mahi mahi tacos. And it's a great option for lunch or dinner (breakfast too, I think, but I haven't tried that yet). I always get the Burrito Mexicano with chicken. Man, that's a lot of food! But terrific. I've also had the two soft taco option for a good, cheap (under $5) lunch. For salsa, I've always had the Pico De Gallo (safe bet) but I recently tried the hotter salsa, the "Baja." It's their Medium heat salsa - blackish with yellow stuff and bits o chilles. You can't miss it. Wow, that stuff is awesome! Definitely hot - but not life threatening. My new most favorite salsa. I like to stop by for a quick burrito here on occassion. The local shop has a current special on weekends for a $5 baja burrito. add free chips and you have a decent lunch. I am seriously missing the mango salsa they had for a while. That was fantastic. The burritos are large and very filling. I haven't tried the other menu items as I don't go too often and when I go, I know what I want. I think this chain is one of the better "fast food" mexican chains. It's tough coming up with reviews for places like Baja Fresh where there are hundreds of them all over the country, and at least 8 or so that I'm aware of just in the Portland metro area. But that said, some things make it easy, especially when you compare them not to each other, but rather to competitors in the "Mexican fast food" genre. Anyone can shove greasy ground beef and fakey-cheese product into a tortilla and call it a burrito. But, as the name implies, Baja Fresh focuses on fresh ingredients and in particular fresh produce. You'll typically find a lot more fresh plant matter in their offerings: tomatoes, cilantro, onions, peppers and the like. As someone who tries to keep an eye on my ever-expanding tummy, Baja Fresh has a number of very tasty offerings that are very health-friendly. My particular favorite is "Tres Tacos" (3 soft tacos). Their tacos come with a choice of fish, steak, chicken or pork (and I've seen shrimp as well) and lovely soft corn tortillas. They typically run around 220 calories each, and are low in fat, so that's a happy meal for this diner. I've never had a single greasy bite from them. I love their salsa bar with its several different flavors (Pico de Gallo, spicy red, spicy green, a sweet mango salsa and all-you-can-stand cilantro and jalapenos). I've found their consistency to be excellent. Pretty much I can walk in to any Baja Fresh and order the same thing, and it will come out the same. You know what you're getting. The prices are a tad higher than the average fast-food joint, but here, you know what you're getting and the food is fresh. I've eaten here more times than I can count, and through the years the food has been just fine. read more

We frequent here after guitar lessons on Monday's. Today we tried the new summer tacos since we had a coupon for them. Service is always good so is the Baja salsa .... Smokey with a bitemmmm. We each had a chicken achiote taco and a summer shrimp taco. I would order the shrimp taco again for sure... Lots of lime and tomatillos! Freshly prepared before your very eyes, this place is a nice alternative to most fast food restaurants. It's a little more expensive but satisfying, filling and tasty. BF is a chain but I've only dined at this location. The restaurant was spacious, decor was pleasing, and they had some surf competition, (or something!) on the big screen TV. I was disgusting. Me and my husband when during lunch rush hour and it was bad. What happened was we ordered nachos and a burrito. And once we got the food the nachos looked like they had been sitting out for hours. It tasted the same as well. Than my husband was eating his burrito and stopped and pulled a long black curly piece of hair out of his mouth. He got sick to his stomach and had to go to the bathroom to vomit everything up. Ordered the Baja burrito there was absolutely no cheese, asked to add sour cream which was on the order receipt with the food yet missing from the burrito. Our nacho burrito had chip crumbs through a portion of it which we have never had before. Unfortunately we took the food home and didn't discover this until then.
