This was my second time having braces (first time when I was 14) and I couldn't be happier with my result! Got them on in the end of November and got them off in the end of January exactly 14 months. Every time I went into the office the ladies greeted me by name and always made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I get that they're trying to create a fun atmosphere for kids while they wait. My daughter is 2 and does not watch screens and there were screens everywhere. I realize I'm the minority with this. The tree in the middle is nice so I was having her point out the different animals in the tree. I appreciate that we had a private room for her first appointment, as I noticed several chairs in an open space. As expected, my daughter cried and was not a fan of getting her teeth looked at. Originally, we went where our family dentist referred us. I was not comfortable with the way they operate. Looking for a second opinion, a friend suggested West Valley Pediatric Dentist. From the receptionist, to scheduling, to the hygienist, and the dentist himself, everyone was very personable. Everything was explained thoroughly. Options were given as how to proceed. The procedure was broken up into two sessions. My son left both sessions happy and said he liked going to the dentist. Even without the prize machines at the end, I think he would have said that. It has been a few months since the last appointment. No problems with the work that was done.

We had been going to this office since our child's first ever dental visit. We were told our child had 4 cavities and needed multiple teeth out and that it had to be done right away. They would also need to put our child under full anesthesia for these procedures. That didn't sit well with us so we went for a second opinion. The second dentist agreed the teeth needed out, but couldn't find 4 cavities and that we had about a year to do all of this before it became a problem. We came back for all the work to be done, but without anesthesia. They agreed to a twilight sleepy medicine. Our child did well with the twilight but WVPD said they didn't have enough time to complete all the work and that we would need to return and that they would only do it under full anesthesia. This did not sit well with us on pushing full anesthesia, so we went for a third opinion. Again, they could not find the cavities that WVPD found. We even had the records sent over to our new dentist and still could not be found. Our child needed a third tooth pulled that we knew about. This new dentist did a local anesthetic and our child did awesome! After researching it seems WVPD is owned by an anesthesiologist and that is why they push the fully under for kids dental procedures.

Bring an iPad to a normal dental clinic. Their TV's and dinosaur chairs are NOT worth what they are putting kids and parents through to get more money.

Full blown IV anesthesia and to be very honest that's excessive and unnecessary for fillings and a tooth extraction. No actual surgery was being done. So an IV sedation is crazy, especially for a toddler. I understand that some toddlers can be quiet challenging to work on but the most I've ever seen is laughing gas and that works perfectly fine for your little ones. I wasn't offered that. They also wanted to do all the work in 1 sitting. Usually if a lot of work needs to be done they schedule these out. Lastly but not least let me add that they wanted to charge $900 upfront for the anesthesia LOL. Plus whatever the insurance didn't cover. Anyway get second opinions parents. Don't just say yes and put your little ones through unnecessary sedations or procedures. This place is nice but seems like they just want to take your money by pushing these unnecessary IV sedations.

My husband and I both attended our appointment, and we were completely caught off guard at our second visit when additional details about the treatment were brought up that had never been discussed beforehand. I had a long conversation with both the dentist and the hygienist explaining how important it is for me to understand everything in advance so that I can build trust and feel comfortable moving forward. Despite that conversation, immediately after completing the treatment, we were informed that a second treatment would be required something that was never previously mentioned. The lack of communication and transparency is extremely frustrating. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this office based on our experience.

Because I have acchhs healthcare these people just did whatever to my son. I was very clear that I did not want silver teeth in my son's mouth, they wouldn't let me or dad sit thru the procedure which also bothered me and when he came out of the procedure he had 4 silver teeth. Most offices don't even practice this anymore because it is NOT SAFE. However this office decided to cheap out my son and go against my wishes as a mother. I worked that day and sent dad in with clear instructions. I am not happy and they are lucky I haven't filed a lawsuit. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!!
