I genuinely cannot say enough good things about Dr. Jill…read more I had a dental emergency late at night after an accident knocked one of my front teeth significantly out of place. I was scared, in pain, and had absolutely no idea what to do. I left a message through their emergency line, and Dr. Jill personally returned my call within minutes. She immediately jumped into action and went incredibly far above and beyond for me. She calmly walked me through what to do step by step (over the phone), stayed with me while I got my tooth back into position, checked in repeatedly about my pain and bleeding, reviewed my medications with me, answered every question I had, explained exactly what symptoms would mean I needed to go to the ER, and made sure I understood what follow-up care I would need. What struck me most was how incredibly kind she was. I was panicked when this happened, and she never once made me feel rushed, embarrassed, dramatic, or like I was inconveniencing her. She was patient, reassuring, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure I was okay. By the end of the call, my tooth was back where it belonged, my pain had significantly improved, and I had gone from being terrified to feeling like I understood what had happened and what I needed to do next. What makes this even more meaningful to me is that I wasn't even an established patient of Dr. Jill's or the dental office's. It was late at night, she had never met me, and she simply heard that someone was frightened and needed help and did everything she could to help me. That kind of humanity is rare, and I will not forget it. If this is how she treats someone she had never even met before, I can only imagine how well she takes care of her patients. Thank you, Dr. Jill. Truly. You were an absolute angel to me tonight.

I liked the hygienist and dentists, but I ultimately left because the office staff was incompetent…read more They incorrectly billed my insurance more than once and would often bill me for work I had already paid for upon completion. At one point, a newly hired office employee called me and asked if I still worked for [name of company] and it literally only shared a first letter with my company, even though I had given the office staff a copy of my insurance card with the company name on it. This employee told me this wasn't an uncommon error and that she had been hired in the wake of multiple firings from previous staff who made a lot of mistakes. I decided to go to another local dentist that can actually figure out how to bill insurance and not hire people so easily confused. Again, the actual dentists and hygienists are fine... and hopefully the front office staff is much better than it was circa 2015-ish.

Worse care I have ever gotten for any medical/dental care. I am an RN so I know what expectations…read moreshould be. I was called Friday before the consult on Monday and told I had a $50 copay and I could pay it over the phone. I found out from my insurance company I have no copay for consults. I get to the appointment and am told that I am required to have a specific x-ray, that cost $400 that insurance doesn't pay for, before they will see me. My dentist told me he could have done it for free and sent it to them if they had requested it. I saw Dr. Thomas Mirchel, the oral surgeon. He was the rudest provider I have ever seen both personally and professionally. He came in and told me that he didn't know why my dentist had sent me to him. That I should just get my tooth pulled and add to my partial. I ended up having to have another consult. I went to Oregon Oral Surgery, Eugene OR. That oral surgeon gave me three different options for my tooth and treated me with kindness and respect. Aspen Dental is all about the money and forget patient care. It's like a dealership's auto repair who up cares you all the time.

I've had a lot of dental work done over the past few decades and recently moved to the Eugene area…read more Needing a new crown, I found OFD through Yelp. As other reviewers have said, Dr. Park has excellent dentistry skills and chair side manner. I was surprised at how painless even the initial shots of Novacaine were. Any and all questions I had were fully explained. Two additional features that make OFD a five star business are the facility design and the support staff. When you walk into the office, you walk into a very relaxing, homey, and light filled waiting area with an adjacent, easy to observe kiddie area. But the treatment area is where the thoughtful design really works. Unlike other dental offices with little rooms or cubicles, this treatment area has roomy cubicles with a very high ceiling and huge windows across the length of the building, letting in tons of light, but the outside landscaping provides privacy. The space naturally makes you feel very relaxed and non-stressed. Everyone seems to genuinely like each other and work together very well. No matter how good a doctor is, if his front office sucks, it will affect his business and piss me off, so I pay extra attention to the service I get in front office. I am happy to say that Dr. Park's front office is efficient, friendly, and well managed. His back office staff is equally professional! To me, oral health is critical to overall health and I consider my dentist as essential as a family physician. I am so happy to have lucked out and found OFD!

****FRAUD ALERT****…read more DO NOT USE THEM, I've never experienced worse service then i did here. They ask you to provide insurance info 3 days before visit or they will cancel. I sent mine, my daughter went in they tried to tell me every filling and root cancel she has ever had has failed and they need to redo all of it, phase 1 would be $8k, i said ok send me the breakdown, they did and we scheduled a few appointments, I was told my daughter needed a cleaning first they said they cleared the insurance it was 100% covered since she had one 7 months ago. They emailed me a breakdown of all the treatments which showed the cleaning was $0. I dropped my daughter off and once she was there they called demanding $140, i was confused and said its covered she said it wasn't so i said i have the email saying it is, she said oh i do see that and put me on hold and came back and said well the insurance doesn't cover this because she had it done 7 months ago so i need you to pay NOW. TOTAL bait and switch! I was fine to pay the $8K but I'm not paying a penny to a company who claims its free over and over then when they get you in the seat its oh we were wrong you owe now, not even a sorry! When i said i wasn't paying they stopped her exam in the middle of it and told her to go. I've never been so offended in my life! I've reported them for fraud!

Dr. Wicker and his team were good to me in the beginning. I really enjoyed the teeth cleaning and…read moreWicker is a master with the drill. So bonus points for that. My husband went to his appointment after me and they were completely different with him. Very pushy and aggressive about what he needed and he felt bullied. My husband is the sweetest and kindest human being and did not deserve to be like this. He came home upset and stressed out. And that's no way a person should ever feel after visiting the dentist. I called later to reschedule my cleaning as this was one of the reasons that I signed on with them in the first place. They were always able to get me in in reasonable time. They mentioned that they always have room for their clients. Instead, they told me that they didn't have another appointment for 6months, making it clear that they couldn't even put me on a cancellation list. My takeaways: Their prices are extremely high, double and triple the going rates. Insurance generally not accepted or rather insurance won't pay because of their exorbitant rates. They are very aggressive and pushy. They are not as accommodating as they claim to be. They use the terms holistic and wellness in their description, which is attractive to those of us looking for what would be a more natural approach, but they are inauthentic when it comes to what you really need. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this dentist office.

After moving to Eugene, I was really nervous to roll the dice on a new dentist. I'm relieved to say…read moreI really like this practice. To start, Dr Snyder's philosophy is in his words "conservative". He offers whitening, straightening, and everything else cosmetic you could want, but his general approach is that if it isn't about health, he won't try to sell it to you, which I really appreciate. He's big on preventative maintenance and adjusting your regularly scheduled visits to meet your needs as a patient. If your teeth and home care don't require it, he will say that you don't need to come in as often as every six months. If you need to come in more often, he'll say that too. He is very straight to the point and honest. I had some wear on my front teeth and he shot it to me straight: the best practice is to get braces to re-align them (and add reinforcing paste), or he can just put some paste on them every five years which will chip if not replaced, but basically does the same job. He said he didn't expect the wear to cause any health problems so long as I came in for regular check-ups. Well, you can probably guess which option I picked! The hygienist I got for my cleaning did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. It was painful at times, as one might expect, especially since I hadn't seen a dentist in around 5 years. Some areas are sensitive, but you gotta do what you gotta do. After much scraping and trying to think about literally anything other than somebody sticking sharp metal things into my mouth, my teeth feel cleaner than ever! For those with dental phobia or anxiety, this office does not offer gas for routine treatments.

Peter Snyder, his associates and staff are an extraordinary team. Peter, allowing the informal…read morereference, is consistently gentle, friendly, professional and accessible (probably part of what makes his office such a good family practice). In the time I've been a client/patient, and on good recommendation before that, I've come to believe myself lucky under his care. That includes during the challenges of covid and through fillings, root canal, teeth cleanings, and crowns. The entire back office side of the team are thorough, considerate, sensitive and utterly dependable. The front office part of the team is no less so: warm and genuine, on top of demands and willing to bend over backwards in a pinch. I'm pleased with their prices and service as providers, their location on the west side of town (at 18th and Bailey Hill) and the fact that their comfort and respect are reciprocal!
