I provided care to a vulnerable adult whose care was being overseen by Private Client Fiduciary. During that time, I developed serious concerns about Abundant Living Senior Services (ALSS), the agency providing caregivers in the home. I contacted Nicole Jordan directly about my concerns regarding ALSS. As a caregiver working in the home, I believed the person responsible for overseeing the client's care needed to know what I had personally experienced. I expected my concerns to be taken seriously. That was not my experience. One of my biggest concerns was ALSS's hiring and screening practices. In my experience, I was sent into this vulnerable adult's home to provide care without ever completing a background check. I had not even provided ALSS with my Social Security number before I was given the address and sent into the home. I specifically brought my concerns about ALSS to Nicole because Private Client Fiduciary was responsible for overseeing the client's care. What concerned me was the lack of urgency or concern I experienced after reporting this information. If you are entrusted with overseeing a vulnerable adult's care, knowing who is being sent into that person's home and how those caregivers are being screened should matter. My experience left me seriously questioning the level of oversight being provided and the relationship with ALSS. There is an actual vulnerable person depending on the people entrusted with their care to pay attention and advocate for them. Based on my experience, I did not feel that the concerns I brought to Nicole Jordan and Private Client Fiduciary regarding ALSS were treated with the seriousness I expected.
